I have been enjoying your channel for about two weeks. This video really caught my attention for several reasons. Back in the 90's I ran across some strange newsstand variants and I can't find information about most of them. Maybe you can tell me if they are worth anything.
1. Daredevil Volume 2 had newsstand variants that started around issue 17 or 18 and ended around issue 48. I sometimes see the early issues on Ebay but I never see the later issues.
2. Another discovery I made were newsstand variants of the Marvel Knights series. Many but not all of the newsstand issues were titled Marvel Knights Universe.
3. Iron fist/ Wolverine issues 2, 3, and 4. Have newsstand variants titled Avengers Universe. The covers have different issue numbers. Remember that Marvel was publishing an anthology title that was titled Avengers Universe that contained recent issues of three titles in each issue (Spider-man, Iron Man, And Cap, I think). These Ironfist/Wolverine variants came out after that series was cancelled.
4. Hulk Smash and Startling Stories: Banner were two mini series about the Hulk. On the newsstand the were published with the title Marvel Universe.
5. Several Spider-Man Mini series had newsstand variants. Sider-Man: the Mysterio Manifesto, Spider-man: the Revenge of the Green Goblin, and Spider-Man's Tangled Web all carried the title Spider-Man Universe on the Newsstand.
6. X-treme X-men Issues 1 through 6 carried and extra title logo on the newsstand.
Are these worth anything?

Mentioned this on another video, but you really should keep a picture of the book you're talking about somewhere on screen. very annoying when I space for a minute then have to rewind to find the 2 second spot you mention the name of book or show it. Plus great visual aid to sear the cover into my mind as watch and listen
Awesome list guys! There's an Avengers NGEN#1 Northrop Grumman recalled comic. NONE on CGC census. Only one listing on EBay for $1000. You two ever seen one?
There are also other newsstand variants. For example, When Marvel Comics published Secret Invasion the printed a one-shot called Secret Invasion Saga. This was a give away comic at comic stores. I have newsstand editions that carry a cover price of $2.99. There is also a one-shot called Wolverine Saga the was a free Give away in comic stores. On the newsstand it was sold for $2.99.

Lucked out on the elseworlds recalled book not just once but twice. Scooped these from over seas. And traded one for a second appearnace of ironman and a 2 print of 1st anti venom. Couldnt be more happy. Picked up both recalls for under $150 each. Thanks for another great post fellas.
My favorite error comic is the Tick #2 no window. Only 250-300 are rumored to exist. It was a known error even in the early 90s. You can see ads for it in later Tick books for back issue sales.
I have had 3 of those. Knew it was rare but it didn't seem THAT rare, now I know!

The TMNT 4 error only has 4 9.8s. it was a 9.6 that hit almost 800 recently.
I don't own any of these but I do own Fallen Son Death of Captain America #4 which has the cover to issue #3.

Hey guy i have a spider-man renew your vows # 2 CGC It says printing error / sketch cover and to the right it say Manufactured with cover printed off-register . It is the cover with Black Cat looking over Peter and Mary Jane sitting on the sofa . year 9/15 . I bought years ago . 9.8 signed Stan and Joanie Lee . Any help on the price ?

I have a missprint Newstand issue of New Mutants #100 ...8 pages are without Liefields pencils .
A Friend has Nightwing # 71 variant issue ...inside one half is Nightwing , the other half are pages from Aquaman from the same month . 8 pages of Aquaman

Did you notice that the Superman cover says Root Beer on the "Beer bottle" so they changed it for no good reason... look at the side by side shot you did at 4:40 of the video...
The reference picture is blurry, but I JUST bought one of these and upon careful inspection, it says "Craft Beer"

Suppose some have double covers. Would that count?
Double and triple covers are manufacturing errors. They can happen to any book and while there is a market for them, there is no census as they were mistakes but not necessarily something that needed to be recalled.
I got one of those TMNT #4. Got it in a trade probably over 30 years ago.
Sweet still have my action comics # 869. Love your show!

The only true error book is Venom #1 when the red foil didn't stick to the book. And it came out Black with holographic webs on it. The rest are variants purposely made that way. People when nut's for that book. It has an intense look to it and only like the 1st 100 or so came out that way. The printing company didn't even know it. It was the comic shops that discovered them. They were 1st sold for around $100 then. With in a month went to $500. And now they're what??? 1 million?

It's not a huge error, but the tmnt #4 I have at home had the cover put on upside. I'll have to take a peek and see if it's actually tmnt #4 and not tales of TMNT #1!
What about the spawn #1 color error or Malibu sun 13 color error both go for higher prices than any on this list.
Ryan Jackson this list is the recent 9.8 sales league, not a most valuable list.
Tom has experience with BOTH of those errors and yeah, 9.8 for those would be ASTRONOMICAL

There is also a black and white convention copy.
Only 7 on the CGC census.

Hi Tom, You knew the controversy about the comic book X-Man Gold number 1. Supposedly the artist put hidden messages on the comic book about some religions and ended up fired by MARVEL, You do not know if this comic book is a recalled?

I have a Maxx 1/2 with no foil printing on the cover. I think it may be the only one. I've searched extensively for others with no luck. Has anyone ever seen one before?

I got 3 comics called The Uncanny X-Men issue 289 from 1992 and on one of the covers Ororo face is way off color then the other 2 even the boots are diffrent colors and then i got two 1st issues of a legend reborn a mutant milestone by X-Men from 1991 and they both have totally diffrent covers are they supposed to be like that? I got 4 of the collectors edition ones too they seem to be the same cover though lol sorry just got handed 500 comics n really dont know too much about them all
I bought a marvel book where the wrong cover was put on like FF4 on a Doom 2099 or something like that I would have to check. Like totally different title, but can't imagine it's worth that much since anyone could swap covers.
trencher7 . You can usually tell if they swapped covers unless the staples lined up perfectly.

Apart from any rarity value that LOEG #5 has its a great book! The text story in that ( "Alan and the sundered veil ") is hands down one of the best things Moore has ever written IMHO and a great piece of standalone Gothic writing in its own right even without its association with the main story. Tear open your slabs and read!
