@JanusHoW can't fathom why anyone would opt for bouncable weapon without using esp skill. Just clear training quests then you'll get sword saint piercing headgear (+10 ESP)
My dualblade swornrapier just got demon mode (i knew the sharpness is sucks, but it still works)

@Arrcy MH nah, you wouldn't want your melee weapon bounced vs mons that moves fast and have plesioth-sized hitbox. In monster hunter stories 2, plesioth hipcheck attack has official name, Hyperspace Tackle. I'm not kidding🤣

and yes terrain in old gen = optional, only when it benefits the monsters though.
I miss ability to block the roars with the SnS in the newer titles. In Gen 1-2 you only had this small pushback animation, even with no Guard/Guard Ups. But now we get the guardbroken animation which is more or less as long as the "being roared at" one
Basarios and Gravios made me try LBG for the first time.
Now it has been my main for years and counting ❤️

Bouncing is probably the most aggravating thing, only beaten by getting stunned.
It's amazing how you make every hunt fun, killing the basarios is pretty boring and you made it fun my congratulations bro keep it up you have a new sub :)

Ah.. clearing open map quest with bull/gia/velo/gen/io dromes. All I need is light bowgun and autotracker skill to kill dromes first before facing main mons. Pretty handy skill to know mons position when facing open map rathalos rathian pair. When fighting with one of mons, I simply get out before another one coming. This is how I cheese most of open map quest 🧀

This thing was sometimes more annoying than Gravios, since with longer weapons you kept hitting the parts that were rockhard, where with Gravios size, you would cut into its soft underbelly.
Great times... I think I once killed one that was hiding in the ground by throwing a rock at it.
But mate for me gravios is more annoying, the tail and that laser thing
@@ararira Understandable, especially since Gravios has a ginormous health pool. As a longsword user I never had issues hitting the tail enough to cut it (although larger Gravios could still be out of reach sometimes) and I stayed away from the head and the laser.
Still, Gravios and Basarios were two of the most "annoying" monsters for me.

I always use my Daimyo war bow to beat Basarios with ease
I have some experience dealing with MHFU's Basarios and it's pretty much an annoyance to deal significant damage to it before breaking the armored belly if you're not using Hammer, Hunting Horn, Piercing Bowguns/Bow (without Mind's Eye) against it.
The other weapons will struggle to dent Basarios without having their weapon bouncing almost every hit and have a worse matchup overall, some more than others.
And I'm aware that Basarios' tail can be cut but it's mostly not worth the effort (especially in Low Rank) to do so unlike Gravios.
Is it legit using hammer against basarios? I feel like not dealing any damage even hitting his belly 🪨
@@ararira Yes, it's legit. You just need to use the Super Pound repeatedly. And since Basarios is as slow as a...rock, you'll find ample opportunity to use said move.
The aim of a general Basarios hunt is to break the belly armor so that any attack that hit the exposed belly will deal a lot of damage to Basarios. And the Hammer is the most effective Blademaster weapon to do the job.

Just upgrade the iron hammer to the iron striker +
just stick with one weapon your most comfortable with. Frequently changing weapons to deal with monsters normally leads to lack of improvement and problems when dealing with the late game where you will most definitely have to deal with all the short comings of your own weapon regardless of hunt and learn to play around it. Otherwise water and explosives is the way to go for this guy. Easy match up for any Bowgun with access to both water and piercing.
