- This video shows my Wednesday November 2nd, 2022 cycling tour through Guelph, Ontario, Canada. The video begins at the intersection of East Ring Rd and Arboretum Rd within the University of Guelph Campus. From there I followed Reynolds Walk to Gordon St, where I turned right and headed northwest. I rode into the historic downtown Guelph and continues along Norfolk St until I reached Woolwich St.

The bike I was riding is a non-folding Linear Limo Recumbent Bike. More info about this bike in the link above. I filmed this using my GoPro HERO 9 Black action camera mounted to the main frame tube of the bike at the front with a custom 3D printed plastic bracket. I recorded the audio with a Panasonic voice recorder and earpiece microphone.

Hey CJ, I just wanted to let you know that the fan that recognized you near Dufferin Mall was me! It was unexpecting for me, as I was just waiting for the bus and just recongized you while you ride past us! It was nice seeing you ride and brave the cold and slushy roads. I assume you were commuting home from work? I wasn't able to recognize the bicycle because it was dark but I assume it was the green machine? Nice seeing you pass by while riding, braving this cold evening. I usually commute by bike to school by bicycle everyday but my bicycle has no studded tires and heavy weight in the milk crate in the back, so it kept slipping. Was so happy I was able to see you today CJ!
Thanks for saying hello! The bike I was riding today was in fact my Green Machine and I was returning home after a trip to No Frills. I think you made a good choice not riding today as the roads (especially the bike lanes) were not very well plowed.
@@cjhoyleI will guess that the trip to nofrills included lots of oat meal, ha. Was the short path connecting Dufferin Park Ave and gladstone slippery? I walked that on foot and almost slipped, hopefully it was cleared when you rode through it.

I loved the Arboretum, and I'll definitely be back there in the summer when the trees have their leaves.
It would be nice to see some more collabs with other Toronto based RUclipsrs Johnny Strides, Ken Continuum and RMTransit in 2023. Just recently, Johnny Strides in his livestream on January 10th, 2023 was in the area where you live in Toronto. It was through your channel I discovered Johnny Strides. And it would be cool if the 4 of you came together for a collab video.
It's been a while since I've made a collaboration video, but perhaps I'll get the chance again this year.
Most challenging aspect of cycling in Guelph (and up to Elora): getting there!. No weekend GO train service really limits regional riding opportunities.

It's too bad you missed the main part of downtown. If you had turned right at Norfolk it would have led you to the downtown core
I planned my route for the video based on which roads had bike infrastructure. In retrospect I agree that Macdonell St would have otherwise been a good choice to show. Thankfully I've ridden there before and shown video clips on my previous visit to Guelph.
When will you come to kitchener-waterloo?
I visited Kitchener-Waterloo in 2021 (by bike) and 2022 (by canoe). There are videos on my channel from both trips.
