Feel free to ask any questions about this soundset, or my opinion on the Minilogue xd, or anything else you might want to chat about be it synths, music, life...
@@malevolenttakt7120 I really liked it. When making a classics style soundset I tend to judge the synth i'm working with on how well it can do classic brass sounds, if it can do convincing retro brass sounds it can usually do everything else and i was very pleased with how the Minilogue did in this regard. I think it's particularly great for dance music styles due to it's punchy up front sound and the chord memory feature. I'd go as far as to say the xd is the best bang for your buck synth on the market. The 4 voice thing would be one of my few criticisms along with the keybed but apart from that it's all good.
@@sid1888 I usually always start from an init patch as i find i make my sounds much quicker that way. Sometimes i might set up a template patch which would basically just be a couple of detuned saw tooths, envelopes on a slightly brassy setting and a touch reverb/delay and chorus. I find that particular sound a great starting place as i'm already in a sweet spot. It's almost like a more slightly inspiring sounding version of an init patch.
Also I like all the references to 90s electronica classics! This might be the best sound set I've heard for the XD. Like I didn't know you could get some of these sounds out of it.
Beautiful work ... again. I roll my own, but anyone needing an excellent set of classic patches should really just jump on your stuff and be done with it ... no better value anywhere, IMHO.
Great video. Lead sounds next, maybe? Tri lead is great already. Not only pop-rock but fusion too....? Do you know fi it is possible tu tune de osc. so it sounds “uppside down”? Kind of “in the mirror”. Joe Zawinul used to use those.... Maybe not so clear question? Thanks! :)
I have one now! :) i didnt trade the microkorg..old faithfull :) Got my 1st record deal using this minilogue XD ..with Awesome 3 :) ps 1 question... if i upload the patches..does it overwrite the factory preset ones? Cheers Luke this is superb work! Just sitting here listening to them all :)
Hi Luke, in many of your presets for "Minilogue Xd" there is chorus (for example in "fingers bass") but the Minilogue Xd has no chorus effect, how did you do it?
Luuuuke, LuuuuUKE! I need your help Luke. You've worked with both the OB-6 and the XD. Listening to your Jump patch on here it sounds almost like you have some detune/LFO on the pitch like your going for some more vintage vibe? I owned the XD and really enjoyed it, however I sold it and am looking to purchase another poly and that OB-6 is looking like it could be the one, but the price is making for a longer wait and the XD was a pretty sweet synth for the price. So looking for comparisons and thought I'd ask you what you think of the two so far as sound in general and whether the OB really makes up in sound over the XD in price? Thanks for any feedback.
If it's Jump type sounds that you're after then you can't really beat the OB's. I mean most synths can do an impression of that sound but it's never quite as satisfying imo. The Minilogue is great though and sounds everything bit as pro as the OB. The OB maybe sounds a bit deeper, fatter and fizzier but that's the nature of the OB sound.
Superb patch bank, just a question before buying it : how is it organized? I mean, do the patch names appear on the screen when you browse to find one?
Thanks :).. Yes the patch names appear on the screen with LN (my initials) at the end of each name so you can tell it's one of mine. If you use Novation Components to import the sounds you can choose which bank you would like to import the sounds too. Components is a great app for organising all your sounds. It's free too.
I’m considering various desktop modules these days and I must say I wasn’t to inspired by the Minilogue XD until I came across your soundbank. Good patches even if I’m thinking the synth itself is not very warm probably due to the filter.

Luke Neptune overall opinions on the minilogue xd?

When you make a new patch do you build up on a factory preset? Or do you use an initiate program?

Luke Neptune do you detune by using the pitch knobs? And how do you approach detuning? As in how much do you detune and why
You’re truly one of the greatest synth patch makers on RUclips right now, incredible work man!
Malevolent Takt thanks! I work long and hard on my soundsets so that’s really appreciated.

you've made a great soundest man! Very inspiring. What's the drums you've used in this demo?
Does this pack use custom fx / osc? or only native XD functionalities ?. They sound great btw
Damn, that first section is drowned in Hi-hats!! lol 😏
Hi Luke, in many of your presets for "Minilogue Xd" there is chorus (for example in "fingers bass") but the Minilogue Xd has no chorus effect, how did you do it?
Its in the Modulation effects
Any Disco/Funk or Synthwave pack in the work for the XD?

Jesus… might have to buy just for the prophet pad… 😵
Always top stuff! Anything for the standard minilogue?
Thanks! And nothing for the standard Minilogue i'm afraid.
@@lukeneptune3820 i would buy for standard minilogue plz!
Am I right in assuming that the Prologue would basically sound the same as this?
u are.. kinda

Great soundset, are they compatible with the Korg Prologue?
Dan Ness thanks! Unfortunately I don’t think they are compatible with the Korg Prologue. Although I may be wrong. I’ll have a look into it.
@@lukeneptune3820 Pretty sure no as the LFO is a bit different on the Prologue and the filter envelope is ADSR on the Prologue.
please make the cover of Sturdust - music sounds better with you
its' just a chaka khan sample with juno 106 lines, easy to recreate
Will these work with the Korg NTS1?
No i'm afraid not. Just the Korg Minilogue
@@lukeneptune3820 Thanks!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
