  • So I've gone back to basics and started using my Trangia stove more these days and have put together a simple ultra light cook system for my wild camping and hiking.
There is something very nice about alcohol burner stoves..... maybe its the slow pace that it cooks at or just the process of using fire......makes you feel more part of the process perhaps.
277 grams with a few bits to get you through and overnight wild camp or hike.
I do have a spork extender if anyone was wondering if it was long enough for those food bags !
    Happy Easter everyone !
    Cheers
    Marko.
(will add links to products here shortly...its 1.30am and need my bed )

Nothing wrong with a trangia but I make my own stoves that work well for very small pots. There's a few on my channel. Generally I use a 35 diameter travel deodorant bottle with a piece of carbon felt or corrugated shim. The smaller diameter gives off less flame so it's concentrated on the base of the stove rather than run up the sides. Just a thought

I had an obsession at one point making alcohol burners out of old tin cans......trying to get them just right. Fun....but never worked quite as well as the one I use now out in the field. Cheers.

This burner is not Trangia B25. Got a different simmer ring and doesn’t have characteristic T on the bottom Looks more like Esbit burner which is a good choice too. Btw non spill Speedster stoves or Kojin stoves are even lighter, compact and just as efficient. It’s a good set, have a great time!

You are correct. It's a generic copy. But the video is about the system for use with such like stoves. Thanks for watching !
      Cheers !

One tablespoon of water into a full T. Burner now turns the chemicals into a Hydrocarbon and doesn’t leave the carbon sooty deposits onto your pots and pans. It’s a simple fix and it works, I’ve been doing it for years. It doesn’t seem to cool the burn or add to the time it takes to boil your water , not that I care about how long it takes. It keeps my pots clean!!

Yes I have heard that. I tried a mix of 10% hand sanitizer but seems to leave a deposit in burner. Will try the water. Cheers.

OMG I've basically played with my gear and came up with almost identical kit. However like the trangia pot stands, I have cut down couple tent legs and put over the Lixada wind shield, but but dodgie. Think I will invest in some. Cheers

Had to snip the edges off the pot stand to fit in cup ! Easy to do. Cheers.

I'm liking my Lixada more each time I use it.

Make the wind screen smaller, then you don't need the cross stand

Ah .... But it doubles up as a larger pot/frying pan stand ! You can get titanium foil wind shield if just using the mug only, but I put together with view of having option to have a fry up !
      Cheers
