Built one several years ago. Heavily modified. Spent $3k building it, sold it for $6k to a local collector. Now I'm building my next ones. One will go up for sale and the other to my grandson. It's such a beautiful model.
An extraordinarily well done build and mod. The paint job is superb. This ship has stuck with me since i first saw the movie on first release in the Roxy at Parramatta. The drive home in my Datsun 1000 nearly put it into the shopfront of the old Murray's on Church Street. And nearly 50 years later it still is the moved me more than any other.
Another fellow Aussie here, looks amazing. I've done similar mods and absolutely loved the experience of building this. Love the base too, would love to make something similar. I'm hoping we get the X-Wing, AT AT and Star Destroyer soon over here.
Great build! Question: Did you repaint the hull? I just started on the subscription, I'm at Issue 8 right now, and it seems the hull color on mine so far is a yellower shade of white.
And I thought $400 was bad enough to pay for a 1/72 scale Bandai Falcon kit. I ain't spending $2K+ on that thing when better, smaller, and more accurate kits are available.
Doesn't it come with clear parts I'd be gutted for that price I guess it shows off lighting without it ..it's the best you can get personally .. awesome but very expensive

Looks awosome.....
Oh my God amazing I’m curious what was something like that cost
It came to just over £900 over a two year period.

I second the music question: what us it, please? Otherwise, great build. Wish they didn't take two years to finish.
The music was from a free site, bensound.com if I remember.
Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi, am l right?
You bet

Where did you get the packs? Can you buy them individually? Or online? Beautifully done mate, looks fantastic.
Don't think you can get them anymore. Check Ebay.

The clear parts were terrible, so I went the way of the studio scale model which didn't have glass due to reflections during filming.
How large is this model? And where can I get one!
About 32 inches. This was a part work released weekly to newsagents. Not sure you can get this anymore.
Looks good but difficult to understand scale
Its 32 inches long (same as the studio model used in The Empire Strikes Back).
George Lucas sucks for not using this machine for Jedi.
Urgh... really❓
It's HIS money.
Yet again the panel lines are too dark.. What IS it with people...
No, they look fine. Get your eyes checked.
I think I have to agree in this instance. Looks a bit too Gundam for my liking along with the red and grey panels being a bit to vibrant.
Because weathering is good. The filthier the better. My 1/48 scale Space:1999 Eagle Transporters look like they haven't been maintained in months.
