I remember these when they were new !! I was in high school in Palmer, Alaska, and being both a gearhead and a Jeep guy , I thought these were the coolest. I lived about 10 miles out of town, and one of these delivered our mail! What I didn't realize was the Alaska only thing.....I thought that they were also used in other rural / northern states. Thanks for sharing, brings back memories !!
Live in AK and have had 2 of these. I sold one to someone in Colorado who just had to have it. He even paid me to deliver it in person as he didn't trust shipping companies. I still have my second one. I scraped all the insulation out of it. Huge nightmare. That stuff is really stuck on. I have a full soft top on it in the summer with hard doors. I also got ahold of a Scrambler top and tail gate and have it on occasionally. I'm currently looking for a company to make me a set of the original decals.
Yup, the only other one i know of that uses those doors with the straight frame is the CJ-10. I suspect it has something to do with matching the metal top they have, and it's that way because of the way they have to manufacture it.
Man That would make an awesome overland rig with all that space in the back!

Cool Jeep.
great video, great jeep
Thank you!
Back in the late eighties, early nineties my buddy had a regular scrambler with a 400 small block. Impressive to say the least!
If you check our other videos, you'll see we have a Scrambler with a Fuel injected 401. 😊
@@therealjeepguy I will. Thanks

@@therealjeepguy thanks for posting it
I’m a mailman and love Jeeps. That thing is awesome. Weird that it had squared off doors instead of the rounded ones like cjs had

I found a cargo net for the Alaskan Postal. I’m not planning on using it. I noticed yours didn’t have one
