You have no idea the joy we see to first reactions to heavy metal music. You’re reliving our moments when we first started being metal heads 🤘🏾
Yes!!!! I love it! I’m always the one breaking in the newbies lol, I took both of my little brothers to their first metal shows, it’s the best.
I always felt like this song was the best for pumping up before a sporting event. Like come at me bruh!
@@nikkiwilliams8508 good stuff bro
Fax
I agree on that.. Lol... I know all songs but I just love to see their faces.. 😂
With Iron Maiden you either get a history lesson, mythology lesson, or theology lesson.
Even a song about a harlot named Charlotte and the sequel called 22 Acacia Avenue where is she works in the oldest profession.
Check sabaton:)
Dont forget from here to eternity! Part 3 of the charlotte saga
there's always an albatross.
@@pikengren1 And it's a reminder of what not to do when your bird shits on you.
@@christiangarioni8006 And Civil War! Don't forget them, now.
Based on the infamous "Charge of the Light Brigade" during the Crimean War, this song is one of the darkest stories in rock. A first-person viewpoint by one of the doomed British Cavalry troopers, who dies in the attack on the Russian artillery line. Read the lyrics.
This is why it's important to remember the lessons of history. Whoever ordered a cavalry charge into an artillery line should have read up on the Battle of Culloden, a little over a century earlier. The Jacobite advance was similarly cut to shreds by massed artillery.
@@geraintwd The order was misunderstood, a lone brigade of cavalry was ordered to "charge the guns" meaning a few cannons harassing one flank, but the brigade charged the main battle line alone.
In fairness, the charge was successful; the problem was that the commander had not communicated this plan to the other battalions.
This meant that after they took the artillery there was no infantry support to screen them from the Russian counterattack.
To this day, iron from the captured cannons is used to make Victoria Cross medals.
@@toryvindmoe6794 yeah it came down to two different Commanders' if I remember my history right, having different views of the battlefield. The overall General who saw the few cannons harassing the flank, and the commander of the Light Brigade who did not see them and so assumed it was the main line of guns. The issues of Fog of War, especially at the time
A cantar soldados!!!
For more Maiden, check out "Run to the hills" "Number of the Beast" "Wasted Years" "Ace's High"
Can we add Wrathchild to the list ?
Agree with all of these. Wrathchild is also great, but he needs to know it's a different singer.
I 2nd wasted years
Those are the most common suggestions people always have, I mean it's got for starters of Iron Maiden, but cmon we need more variety like this.
1. The Thin Line Between Love and Hate
2. Wrathchild
3. Prowler
4. Paschendale
5. Alexander the Great
6. The Red and the Black
7. Sign of the Cross
8. The Mercenary
9. Flash of the Blade
10. Only The Good Die Young
Yes, these are a must.
Iron Maiden “Hallowed be thy Name” , “Aces High” , “Run to the Hills” , “Running Free” , “Wasted Years” , “Killers” , “Phantom of the Opera” , ”Rime of the Ancient Mariner”.
What about number of the beast?
@@funecheeseofficial3576 of course, but the list goes on and on and on... too many to name.
I would addThe Wicker Man to that list.
Hallowed be thy name Live 1982!!!!
Hey bud why don't you try listening to rime of the ancient Mariner you want to talk about a great song and listen to the words
Aces High, Wasted Years, The Clairvoyant, Run to the Hills. These are some seriously good songs to check out first
agreed!
Fear of the Dark?
@@sfg_sfa oh shit of course!
Phantom of the opera
@@MisterAltir yeah that one too
The Trooper is an excellent starter song!
🤗🙌🥃
Yep, this song, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Aces High, and 2-minutes to midnight might be the perfect Maiden Starter Pack.
The trooper is the first song I heard many years ago and that's what got me into Maiden
@@satanic_warmaster Ditto - I totally agree the best metal track to get you started is probably the Trooper - just so damn catchy, the drums and the riff.... the lyrics are great too.
Same
Iron Maiden... Teaching history one song at a time.
Mhm.
If you like heavy metal songs that teach history you should check out sabaton
Dude you just opened the rabbit hole, gotta do Fear of the dark from Rock in Rio
You mean "The only version of Fear of the Dark that exists."
*Yes... I know I said you should listen to every single song. I take it back. Skip Fear of the Dark Studio Version so you can truly vibe with the live one from RoR.
Omg that video is so good!! He will never go wrong with maiden!
You spelled helsinki wrong.
Hell Yeah! The Trooper was my favorite Maiden song, until Fear of The Dark came out!
Yes sir!!!
“Hallowed Be Thy Name” Period!
Live in 1982 🔥🔥
Exactly
yesss for god sake
ALL OF THIS!
The live version. When Bruce holds that note FOREVER.......................
Steve Harris is the monster on bass driving that whole song along at that galloping pace.
Steve Harris IS Iron Maiden - the band wouldnt exist without him.
Not to mention Nicko McBrain's amazing drum track.
Wrathchild. That bass line is buttery smooth yet brutal.
@@tandraig The complete band works. Without Bruce they wouldn't have come so far, neither without any of the guitarists that brought their own flavours or without Nicko McBrain's drumming, and now with all three back on the nest, it's has grandeur.
as a bassist i can tell you that his galloping bass is quite exhausting and brutal on the wrist. he makes it look easy, but it isnt.
i was able to transcribe the complete song, and it seems to be note-perfect to me. but to this day i am unable to play the whole thing in a single pass flawlessly.
"You know good music when you hear it". A universal truth my man!
Yes, please. MORE iron Maiden. You are gonna want to up that cardio! It gives me so much joy to watch you experience the sound track of my youth. Run for the Hills, Number of the Beast, Wasted Years are some of my favourites.
I feel the same way when I see him so excited- LOL
Yep - LFR Metalhead in the Iron Maiden house now! Now you need to Run to the Hills :-)
LETS GOOO!! UP THE IRONS!!!
Yes!
Up the irons!!!!
Iron Maiden...💀"Run To The. Hills"🔥nuff said
If I had to pick only one. Yeah... I had to weigh it against Aces High for a moment but Run to the Hills should definitely be next.
Another Iron Maiden song to listen too is " Hollowed Be Thy Name", great song...💯%, #Cap Song...
It’s Hallowed Be Thy Name
Live version - make it an early one too!
@@damienmaynard8892 Flight 666
@@NPK476 good one! Apt for "Ed-Force One" with Bruce at the controls!
The cover is Eddie, they're official mascot. They have a robotic replica who comes on stage during concerts.
You should check out Queensryche Empire
I remember seeing them at Wembley arena and Eddie's arm fell off so Bruce chased him with it lol
JUST a little FYI unkle, not trying to be a dick. You use of "they're" is incorrect...it's a contraction of "they are". Sounds goofy to say it that way doesn't it? The correct version is "their", which indicates possession.
@@joconnell8145 who gives a fuck iron madden is on.
Number of the beast by iron maiden all i need to say...
Yes! That’s a amazing song!
More songs by them, 2 minutes to midnight, run to the hills, dance of death, paschendale.

If you are wanting to listen to more Maiden, you need to listen to,
Run to the Hills,
Can I play with Madness,
Number of the Beast,
Wrathchild,
Aces High,
Tail Gunner.
Trooper is also the name of the beer that they created. And have to say, it's bloody good
I'd add:
Wasted years
2 minutes to midnight
The evil that man do
Don't forget about phantom of the opera! lol
Have you tried all the different Trooper beers?
The Trooper (the original)
Light Brigade (lighter version of the original)
666 (stronger version)
Hallowed (Belgium lager/British ale hybrid)
Red and Black (Porter)
Sun and Steel (Sake infused lager)
Trooper IPA
Fear of the Dark (stout)

@@CoffeeMatt10 I throughly enjoy 666 and Fear of the Dark, delicious
Man you’ve gotta check out Run to the Hills. That’s my favorite Iron Madden song.
With the video clip!
Their use of meter is some of the best in Rock.
He got flow.
Metal 🤘🏻 not rock 🪨
"Hallowed be thy name " , "Rime of the ancient mariner" also from Iron Maiden.
My favorite Iron Maiden song. This is about the British light cavalry led by Lord Cardigan against Russian forces during the Battle of Balaclava on 25 October 1854 in the Crimean War.
Again, Iron Maiden - Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. Or a shorter one, Hallowed Be Thy Name.
When a 7 minute song is classed as shorter 😂
A lot of their longer songs are amazing, Angel and the Gambler being the biggest exception, they should’ve stuck with the edited version they used for the music video.
So happy you finally got the Iron Maiden it's seemingly a never-ending string of masterpieces
Fun fact: Bruce Dickinson (lead vocals) is also a license airline transport pilot and pretty good at fencing. And the band has it's own Boeing 747 jumbo jet when going on world tour.
It's a 757, actually. Bigger than a 747.
@@elteescat nope, 757 is a twin turbo fan, narrow body plane, slightly bigger than 737. 747 is a semi double decker, with 4 jet engines and was the biggest ever produced by boeing, no matter what variations. It's the biggest passenger airplane until airbus 380 came into service. If you don't agree, look it up.
@@paulvincentnicha9796 I can allow that my source material could have been wrong, but the article I read when they first got the plane did, indeed, call it a 757 and said it was a cargo plane larger than a 747.
@@paulvincentnicha9796 also, perhaps they've acquired a different plane now because they had that one back in '08 or '09.
@@elteescat yes, they commissioned it back in 2016, they named it Ed Force One, after their mascot Eddie. Btw, I'm still pissed at the so called "Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame". Iron Maiden should've been inducted long before.
iron maiden were very popular metal bands!
Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band formed in Leyton, East London, in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. The band's discography has grown to 40 albums, including 16 studio albums, 13 live albums, four EPs, and seven compilations.
Iron Maiden are considered one of the most influential and successful heavy metal bands in history, with The Sunday Times reporting in 2017 that the band have sold over 100 million copies of their albums worldwide
Maiden is a History lesson with a lot of great music. I do have to say LIVE Maiden!
Up The Irons!
Words to live by.
Iron Maiden has a lot of great songs. Many have very different feels to them. My fav is a darker track called Fear Of The Dark. Also Powerslave is really cool.
Powerslsve is my favorite of all maiden albums🤘
Up the Irons! Check out their live performances! See the poem "Charge of the Light Brigade" - relates to this song. The Battle of Balaklava, 1854.
It's magnificent, but it's not war. It's madness.

Yep, you can't never go wrong with Iron Maiden. I recommend Fear of the dark, Ace's high, Halloweed be thy name, and Rime of the ancient mariner. The last one is a little longer but it's worth it.
This song is great
There is no such thing as a bad Iron Maiden song every song is fire
I just happened to stumble across this video and decided to take a look. Love seeing someone new rock out to Maiden! They are my favorite band and have seen them multiple times. If you ever have a chance to see them live. DO IT!!! Their stage presence is just as good!! Well worth the money!
Ace's High, Run To the Hills, Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, Fear of the Dark, Wasted Years, Power Slave..... all phenomenal Maiden Songs.
Alexander the great. Hallowed be thy name. Flight of icarus. Caught somewhere in time. Powerslave. So so many great maiden tunes.
Hallowed be the name and phantom of the opera have THE greatest intros in music in my humble opinion
You picked two of my favorites there mate, #1 Hallowed Be Thy Name #2 Alexander The Great, but they haven’t made a bad number they are all fire 🔥
Welcome to the twin guitar attack of Maiden! I've seen them many times from 1984 to 2019, and they never disappoint! Bruce Dickinson sounds the same in concert as he does on their albums. I definitely love their first album, especially the more chill songs, "Remember Tomorrow" and "Strange World". My uncle walked into the den when we were watching a Maiden concert on MTV back in the 80s, and he was floored by Steve Harris' bass work. If you like the twin guitar attack, check out Judas Priest!
Strange world is one of my favorites super underrated
Been listening to these guys since 1980, when I was 10. I’m 51 now. Still love Maiden.Good music transcends the years.
I hear ya there, me too. They are such a talented band.
Amen bother maiden one of the few stood the test of time just turned 50 still listen to maiden it never gets old one of the goats of metal no doubt
Whatever song you check out, be sure it's a live performance. The energy they put out on stage is incredible. Somehow Bruce Dickinson sounds the same now as he did in the early 80's. And he flies jumbo jets.
One of my favorite bands to see live and one of my favorite songs!!! Thanks for this one! More Maiden please! 🤘
"2 Minutes Till Midnight" off Power Slave!1984 And Eddie the mascot{the skeleton} over 10 feet tall and was ban from some places /"A wife had a baby, but it was born with only a head and no body. 'Don't worry,' says the doctor. 'Bring him back in five years time, and we'll probably have a body for him'. So five years go by, and there's Eddie the 'Ead, as his parents have called him, sitting on the mantelpiece, when in walks his dad. 'Son,' he says, 'today's a very special day. It's your fifth birthday, and we've got a very special surprise for you.' 'Oh no,' says Eddie. 'Not another fucking hat!
Beautiful reaction. You felt what all Maiden fans feel when we listen to their music.
I have to say..as a white metal head from the 80's....nothing gives me more pleasure than watchin a brother hear maiden for the 1st time
One of the greatest voices in metal!
React Iron Maiden, Sign Of The Cross, live rock in rio 2001. great show.
Another good one is "Run to the hills"
Iron maiden number of the beast. Run to the hills and my personal favorite being wasted years 🙃
I haven’t heard this song for awhile! Thanks for reviewing it my brother.
All of their songs have some sort of history or literary ties. If I'm not mistaken, this one was The Charge of the Light Brigade.
Maiden is in my mind the quintessential guitar band. they fill the stage with only world class guitarist's, that have played together for decades. And Steve Harris on his base is always epic.
So if you love guitar rock. you will love iron maiden.
Listen to Maiden all my life since the 80's. Nothing better.
Iron Maiden.....CAN I PLAY WITH MADNESS!!!
Maybe the greatest metal riff of all time.
Black Sabbath & Judas Priest would like a word…
@@erichosos7132 why argue when we live in a world where all 3 bands exist
@@CoffeeMatt10 It’s not an argument.
"Hallowed by thy name" "fear of the dark" , "out of silent planet" and "wasting love"
When Bruce starting singing, the look on your face was CLASSIC!!!!
They are amazing in concert! Iron Maiden is a must watch live.
You really cant go wrong with Iron Maiden! Their live performances are really good. Check out Fear of the Dark, Children of the Damned, Flight of the Icarus, Wasted Years &/or The Evil That Men Do. It's really hard to narrow it down to just a few suggestions! Keep rockin dude
Also check out Queensryche. They have a lot of songs that are bangers, as well.

Can’t wait till it’s U’r 1st time to check out, PRIMUS!

It is more than just the music, the lyrics cover so much.
You're right. Rock musicians pride themselves on being masters of their instruments. That combined with innovative music and great songs.
PLEASE REACT TO "ACES HIGH" BY "IRON MAIDEN" IT'S A GREAT SONG I KNOW YOU'LL LOVE IT PLEAAAASE REACT TO IT
You've got to do The Number of The Beast or Run To the Hills. I saw Maiden in the early 80's , Quiet Riot opened for them and Maiden killed it. One of the best concerts I've seen.
Two of the greats in one place! Wish I could've been there!
Iron Maiden were one of the leading Heavy Metal bands of the 1980s. They are a band that not only have excellent guitarists, excellent drummers, and an excellent bassist, but Bruce Dickinson is by far one of the greatest vocalists in music! He has a naturally operatic voice that reaches the sonic heights of the rest of the band 100x better than their previous singer Paul Di'Anno.
Their lyrics are often very historical and fantasy-like. This song in particular is about the Charge of the Light Brigade during the Battle of Balaclava in 1854. You should definitely look up the lyrics after the song to read them because not only are they written very well, but they serve as history lessons. Check out Aces High and Run To The Hills if you like this one. The former is about the Air Raid over Britain by the Germans in WWII and the latter is about the American Indian Wars.
Hallowed be thy name is a must
Up the Irons. You have finally arrived.
You were surprised by the ending but if you were listening to the words he fought in battle and died. Life over, song over. Sad but an ass kickin song it was.
Favorite Maiden song. Sick guitar riffs and they usually tell a story. Enjoy
Your reaction as you listen to maiden is exactly why I love rock these guys are in the late 50s early 60s now and still sound great hope w3 have a convert
