I have been on a low carb high fat diet for a year and a half now and have never felt better. Beef, butter, bacon ,eggs, chicken, pork and fish. I was on medication for acid reflux and I’m off all medications. No more acid reflux and no more statins. My ratios as shown in this video are 1.7:1 for LDL:HDL and .74:1 for triglycerides to HDL. I will never go back to eating the SAD diet. I’m 77 and wish I had known this 20 years ago.
Well done, great choices. I’m hoping my reflux subsides like yours. Food freedom is wonderful.
I wish I had known this 20-25 years ago too! Years of very little salt, no eggs, very little meat, because doctors and the USDA (that darn Food Pyramid) told us so. Seven-eight years ago I went over all the nutritional and medical BS I had believed in. Doc put me on baby aspirin, I took it. Two years later he took me off that, and it wasn't till years later I learned the risk of bleeding strokes goes up, and the baby aspirin doesn't help with primary prevention of heart attacks. I eat low carb now, and my cholesterol numbers are great (not according to my doc, who things the LDL is high and ignores triglycerides below 50 and HL of 62.
because the powers that shouldn't be are pushing beyond meat, lab grown and bugs I automaticly know beef is good for us!
Ribeyes for life.
Yes for sure!
they're pushing red meat and dairy....
As someone who has eaten 2 pounds or more of red meat for decades, and not had the heart attack yet, I have a feeling we have been lied to.
I often see your comments. Do you ever check your markers? What are your cholesterol, tris and testosterone like?
@@markaguilera493 I have no idea- have not been to a doctor since 1996.
@@chargermopar
Or a dentist either, I think you've mentioned?
@@ianstuart5660 Yes, no dentist since 1986 when I turned 18 my parents health insurance no longer applied to me.
@@chargermopar Do you reckon you eat rather higher protein, higher fat, or about the same of either?
Red meat saved my health after years of trying to heal on vegetables. When it comes to diet there is no one size fits all. Quality of the meat matters, always grass fed organic
Yes absolutely!!
Excellent video. You’re one of the few doctors that correctly mentions keeping Triglyceride/HDL ratio below 2 or ideally below 1. This ratio correlates with heart disease more than any other blood cholesterol test.
I've been eating only meat for 4 years and have lost All of my excess weight effortlessly. I have not been sick since and feel amazing. I'm NEVER going back to plant eating. Remember, Herbivores are food for Carnivores! LOL No More Inflammation!
I’ve been pure carnivore for almost two years now I’ve lost around 40 pounds of fat I’ve actually reached a plateau in weight loss cause I’ve got no more fat left to lose! I have non stop energy all day and feel great every single day. Also all my autoimmune diseases have just about disappeared 👍🏻
Did clean keto for a couple of years and absolutely felt so much better....the ONLY area that I had trouble with keto was sleeping through the entire night and trying to gain muscle when I started working out at 52 years old. I experimented with carnivore and upped my protein and fat consumption exponentially and I was finally able to add about 10-15 lbs of muscle and I sleep VERY well now being 90% carnivore. I'm about to go 100% carnivore just to see but so far being 90% carnivore I haven't had this much energy since in my 20's and early 30's.
A very good video. I especially liked the description on the cellular level as well as the caution on M tor.
Thanks for your time much appreciated.
My pleasure!
It's embarrassing to admit, but I was deceived by the nutritional guidelines and my doctor's recommendations. Finally, the world is waking up to the deception and important figures are making statements like this that give me some hope for the future...
"The case against science is straight forward: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample size, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and FLAGRANT conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness"
Dr Richard Horton, Editor in chief, The Lancet.
Great work - thank you; indeed the red meat is healthy, by experience. The only problem is that grass fed meat is not always available.
Yes fed with GMO soy and corn
@@RajeshPatel-fe8rnWhere do you live that does this?
Awesome video . Great information
Glad you liked it!
Great video! Do you happen to have a video that goes into more detail about the connection between fat and cholesterol with the thyroid? I’m getting into a rabbit hole and I’m not mad about it 😂 watching from Bethlehem, GA 👋🏼
So much details in this video. Thank you for sharing 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Glad it was helpful!
Phenomenal video that succinctly presents the numerous benefits of following a canivore lifestyle. Thanks!
Love your videos. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Great Education! One of the best Information on that subject.
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
Dr, what is your opinion about carnivore diet. How long should we try it and if it is okay to try. Thanks
Dr. Jockers, this video is amazing! It is flat out refreshing to hear someone talk about red meat from an impartial & non-biased perspective. People are benefitting from grass fed meat, butter & eggs in profound ways. I am one of them. Ironically, Carnivores are getting rid of chronic diseases that Nay-sayers are stuck with!
Yes red meat has great health benefits!! So glad to hear you are enjoying those benefits!!
I must add, that not only grass-fed beef but all ruminant animals (deer, kudu, springbok, blesbok, lamb etc) are as healthy. In South Africa, we are fortunate to have these African animals which are ruminant. Look this up.
What about for a person who has severe atherosclerosis, a family history of high cholesterol, and is completely intolerant to statins?? He's not a candidate for stents, bypass, etc. because of how generalized the problem is.
Depending where the supplies come from. I chose organic, grassfed, pastured raised, you name it. Don't work for me. Am not worried about cholesterol and the fat contain, but red meat really bother my arthritis joints and inflammation, i can telk and feel instantly few hours after eating red meat . They are my favorite food but i have to restrict one or two times a week, still feel it ☹️but wild caught sockeye can do everyday with no issues
Great video! Well done! But tmaybe ry to refer and link to some new studies to back your claims up. Keep up the good work! Hope it reaches out to as many as possible.
Thank you! Will do!
The majority of studies are corrupt...your N=1 is the best evidence of what will work for you. Keep in mind, the animals you consume MUST be healthy and eating their species appropriate diet. I came across this quote in a presentation by Dr Jay Wortman at a low carb conference.
"The case against science is straight forward: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. This is like asking the question "is smoking healthy?" Some people will just never get it
Of course smoking is bad, but grass-fed red meat is actually very healthy!
@@DrDavidJockers completely disagree.
Good information!
Glad it was helpful!
Misinformation 😂
@@RajeshPatel-fe8rnThis guy’s a doctor. What’s amiss about this info?
Thank you for the video! Unfortunately, I can't afford organic beef; is it still ok to consume high quantity of red meat (2 pounds per day) or would moderation be more desirable ? Also, would not that amount of red meat lead to an excessive protein consumption? Thank you.
Thank you Dr Jockers,bless you
Thank you!
All meats raised and processed in the USA are banned of sale in over 160 countries.
Under FDA guidelines.
My parents, especially my dad has been eating red meat, pork, chicken... almost all their life. My dad is 100 year young and my mom was 88.
Great to hear that!
@@DrDavidJockers thanks
of course Red Meat it's healthy
Yes absolutely!!
So, if you don't mind allow me to ask this question, I'm following Carnivore for almost one year, let's say 80 to 85% is Carnivore, very low in Carbs, nos sugars, except stevia, no processed food, no energetic drinks , a few vegetables and some Alcohol, exercise 3 to 4 times a week, mainly weights and the question is, I can't lose fat, my body doesn't burn fat, any ideas why ?
@@FilipeJorgeSilva cut out the alcohol and the Stevia because they cause your body to produce insulin which will intern store fat. Make sure your total caloric intake is 70- 80% fat and 20 - 30% protein. If you cut your carbohydrates to zero, it will not harm your health. Carbohydrates are what trigger the insulin response.
Who ever told you that there's sugar in red meat?
You grew up in the nineties; people that grew up in the sixties would laugh at you.
I'm amazed that people still say that red meat is high in saturated fat, when it's about 5-8 % compared to "healthy" sun flower oil that has more than 13 % saturated fat. Get educated...
how about the people who cant afford grassfed/grassfinished meat?what should they eat?if you're.saying that grain fed animals are toxic, what will you suggest?you can talk like that bcoz you are rich, you can buy those expensive meat that you like..dr berry is still the best!
Try Chicken of the Sea sardines, about $1 a can. I love the ones with hot sauce.
@@TG-vg3qe but red meat is much superior than fish/seafood
@@norimay30 How so? Sardines are loaded with omega 3 fats and protein.
@@TG-vg3qe yeah, but red meat has much more bioavailable nutrients than fish..get it???

What meat is used in studies? Isnt the grass fed beef much more healthy. Yes surveys can be nonsense. Yes...overall impact of everything. Need controlled studies..peer reviewed, etc. Hard to control everything. I think that it is important to look at insulin sensitivity.
Why in the world should eating meat be unhealthy ? We’ve done it successfully for at least 2 million years !
There is a lot of vegan propaganda out there that has influenced many unfortunately!!
Red meat unhealthy is like saying Covid jab is good.
You will get enough Pharmaceuticals with processed beef anyhow ..unless you eat wild beef .
@@furiousdoe7779Perhaps, but if one is careful and purchase directly from ranchers and independent farms or good quality markets, they can easily find healthy red meat.
Is animal skeletal muscle especially red meat also a great source for calcium, sodium, magnesium and chlorine since the ions for those minerals are all employed in muscle contraction and relaxation?
Yes absolutely!
What’s up with all these people only eating meat carnivore diet and no vegetables even Dr,s 🤷♀️
Only one way to find out…
We have been taught all our lives that the way to deal with a health problem is to add something, a vitamin, a drug, a superfood a nutritional supplement. At its foundation, the carnivore way of eating is the idea that by REMOVING certain foods from a diet is better than adding something more. Instead of trying to CURE a disease caused by foods that contain toxins, remove the CAUSE and let your body heal.
Technically red meat and fat are the only things you should be eating.
It's tough to get over the fact that you've been lied to for so long
Vegetables have lots of defense chemicals as oxalates that are harmful to our guts and human digestion. Many people simply don’t process well vegetables.
Once vegetables, processed carbs, and sugar are eliminated from the diet, many people experience a great reduction in their inflammation and a great improvement in their overall health.

If the low density LP is bad, why does your body make it?
For many years I was told that LDL is bad, than APob, and know its Lp(a). Which one is it? Why is it that cholesterol levels vs mortality data shows that total cholesterol at 220 has the lowest all cause mortality?
I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks and made about 246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded again and now I'm rounding up close to a million..
Thanks for sharing that!

This is a great video and I am excited to share with friends and colleagues but I have a HUGE problem with your insistence on grass fed beef and emphasis on toxins therein. You have to remember that this video is trying to reach people trying to decide between meat and plants. Veg and grains have WAY more toxins and antinutrients per bioavailable nutrition that meat! You never mention this, and it is a HUGE disservice to those choosing between eating more meat and more plants.
That is not true for everyone. Plant based defense chemicals such as lectins, oxalates, phytates are actually digested well by many people. There are certainty some that do not tolerate them and need to avoid them or severely limit them, but this isn't across the board. When it comes to pesticide/herbicide content, artificial hormones and antibiotics in foods - those are bad for everyone and they come in high quantities in conventional meat products.
The only thing unhealthy about red meat is what the animal was fed, it’s the context of feeding an animal grains is what is wrong. Same for pet food, cats and dogs should not eat grains either!
Grain fed beef is WAY better than what most people are eating. I do mostly grain finished beef and all of my numbers have improved drastically.
Better eat the grain-fed beef than eat the grain itself.
How is this unhealthy when what the cow eats goes through its stomachs?
Are you or were you a Seventh-day Adventist? I wonder becos I was raised a Seventh-Day Adventist and at one time I followed their “health message.” Fool that I was… I formally left that denomination in ‘85. No doubt, they’re a cult and I’m so glad I left. 😳
No, not a 7th Day Adventist but I do respect them! We are huge fans of eating grass-fed red meat...which doesn't align with 7th Day beliefs.
Ah, these American problems 😊 suckered to the max.
Dr. Steve Gundry warns against consuming red meat and milk because of NEU5GC ! Should we be concerned ?
Definitely not. But it is best to get it grass-fed so you avoid antibiotics, pesticides and high omega-6 fats.
Steve Gundry is not exactly a athletic specimen...
@@timshel011 and he's a total sellout. Of course, not all red meat is created equal...support your local regenerative farmer (Costco meat sucks).
