Defamation claims have been going so well, e.g Ben Roberts-Smith and Bruce Leharam. I'm thinking lawyers must be contacting these people and saying I can get you heaps of money, and greed takes over.

I appreciate that the allegations are different from the Bruce Lehrman defamation case but what idiot heard the judgement in Bruce's case and thought now is the perfect time to launch proceedings? The risk reward calculation is worse in this case if they lose not only do they have assets that can be seized for costs but they will have to be sacked. Again as I said when I heard Bruce had decided to sue, how many lawyers said this is not a case you want to bring before they found one thzt gave them the advice they wanted.
I thought the same thing. It was a shot in the dark by a blindfolded adversary. There are some deep pockets financing these suits.

The take home is that they held the moral ground in a moment of time when their honour was required. They controlled the narrative, and now it seems, came up sadly wanting. They were the spearpoint representing the AFP, and showed how corrupt that can be depending on who the powerbroker is.
That guy that said he would resign if Lehrmann was found guilty - he should be sacked for destroying the reputation of the AFP, as should his superior "powerbrokers'.

The courts very very rarely will do anything to embarrass police. The repercussions and implications of exposing an officer as corrupt can result in all of their previous cases and trials being open to scrutiny and appeal. As hard as it is to accept it’s as simple as them and us, if your not in the club your stuffed. We’ve basically been groomed to accept the status quo without too much questioning. The system isn’t there for us, it’s there for them and we should be tearing it down, unfortunately that’s not easy so you’ve just got to sit back and cop it sweet, I hate this
