Use aluminum foil crumpled up with Diet Coke poured over it to clean old chrome. I've brought old metal shell snare drums and drum hardware back to life with that. Regular Coke is a bit too sticky.
I do samething pete, i also do it on fb yardsale pages, offer up i made a picture saying i buy electronics video games etc etc.. great way to get product, im gone make up little cards for spring cleaning time and go around and put them in mailboxes did last year got crap tons of stuff from that too
Pete! Keep going. I have been “off and on” eBay since 2006.... mostly off. Now I am looking down the barrel of “semi-retirement” and am seriously building my side hustle to resell on my terms. I have been looking for a niche that fits me. My niche will be “variety” kinda like you. Everyone is a little different but one thing is the same. HUSTLE. I grew up when Pete Rose played baseball and his nick name was “Charlie Hustle” - he was told that he would never make it in the major leagues. Not only did he make it, he became a star. He belongs in the Hall of Fame (that discussion is for another time) you said you share how you sell freely to help others. One time you said you were asked how come - aren’t you afraid of competition. You told the absolute truth. Out of 100 people that watch, 97 will do nothing. Maybe u said 90.... point is, only 5 will try it and 3 of them will quit after a few months. Look at me, I have been hanging around since 2006... For me, now is the time to become serious. I will drop a line to you at your store. Maybe I can find a hat to give you to add to your collection. Thanks for helping me to find my niche. Keep up the hustle!
Question for you, Pete:- When someone responds to your Craigslist ad and tells you they have items to sell, do you ask them what price they have in mind before you go meet them in person? Or, do you wait to begin the price negotiation until after you have seen them items in person and established a connection with the seller? It seems like you are able to consistently get quality items at bargain prices (like the Randall knives deal etc.) Appreciate all your efforts to share your reselling knowledge with us!
Awesome Pete!! so amazing to see you watching my video in the car... thanks for the shoutout :) appreciate it... link to the video Pete was watching :- ruclips.net/video/mtszERuo_bQ/видео.html

Hey, great videos and great channel! congratulations. Doesn't pay taxes on the sale of second-hand objects in Usa ? I dedicate myself to the same thing in Spain and I have to declare the origin of each article and pay taxes on the sale of each article. Isn't that so in Usa? Greetings from Barcelona!
Found your RUclips account a several weeks ago - been working my way through all your videos. Looking at possibly another layoff and I am tired of it. Working on something else for income but need to have a second option. Have done some reselling over the years and been moderately successful. I need to get serious about it now. Thank you for all the useful info and providing your honest opinion on what it takes and HOW LONG it takes to be a successful reseller. PEACE!

Just want to say Thank You Pete keep the video's coming ... wish we had craiglist here lol mostly use Kijiji or Facebook but can only dream to have a store one day :)
Freeisbetter86 - Did I just read the word ‘Kijiji’? Meaning that your possibly a fellow Canadian? If so, nice to meet you. Anyway speaking of the ‘dreaded’ Kijiji, if you actually make money on there, I commend you & your husband a million times over. Because if I could tell you how many times in the past I had people tell me that they were interested in what I had for sale & either cancel or not show up, I could write a 1000 page book about those experiences. Though granted my bad luck on there might be because I only have time to resell when my full time job & family don’t take up most of my days. So eBay is now my go to & as long as you are patient, money most definitely can be made on there. Well enough of me & best of luck on your reselling journey. Cheers!!!
LOL Yup Fellow Canadian Here !! Kijiji Is kinda of a joke That way !!! We Get so Many Scammers now it is just funny how they try so hard to get us to ship exspensive stuff lol We dont make tons but we still utilize as its free still lol And Thank You so Much Cheers !!

Hey Pete, when you get a call from one of you Craigslist adds, do you tell you are a reseller or just a collector? I know sometimes their price goes up when they know that.
Pete made a video about that last month. In short, he found some thin acrylic panels while dumpster diving at Target (or Lowe's, I can't remember). So in essence, these are thin sheets of plastic. So Pete brought them to the shop and glued them to the wall and made a frame for the side out of wood. I've had some backgrounds over the years. Everything depends on whether you have space or not. What I'd personally recommend is building a background out of MDF and painting it with mate acrylic paint. You can do it in like a half an hour and the paintjob included. MDF can be sourced cheaply or even for free like all the time. The advantage of this is that you when you disassemble it or move it around it is not going to get wrinkled or damaged like paper or thin plastic would. MDF is rigid and sturdy and nothing is going to happen if water is spilled or something.. Actually, what I have now is a background that is made out of wood siding that has grooves between the planks and some wood texture shows (I painted it white, ofc). It looks pretty smart on camera and gives individuality. But it is heavy and bulky... :(
Also, I bought several large sheets of thick colored paper from the art supplies store for when I want to shoot something on a background of a different color. I make particular use of the black mate colored paper. Lots of stuff looks really smart on black - particularly silvery electronic things - really brings out the contrast.
Ebay asked me to send a message to a customer with my address for a return! Pretty sure Pete you got suspended for this am I right? Appreciate your videos they have been invaluable!
Cool videos - but please, do fasten the things in your car at least with seatbelts.. When see the players and computer behind you in the car, i worry about you.. Believe me, I know what a "flying computer" inside the car can do when hard braking..
Since you have the means to resale almost everything why don't you get storage lockers or foreclosure stuff is it alot of competition there or the auctions are staged?
Pete i watch u when i get ready for wirk or getting the kids ready...if u are going to have infomercials every 3 minutes...i'm out. Dont sell out pete...
Wow, nice haul Pete! Thanks for sharing!

I must say you do a really great job on these videos, here's to hoping you get a reality show on TV.

Those movies aren't as old as the large laser disc format. I didn't know they made movies for that after DVD's came out.
toot tall I think because people overseas still use them.
hmm, good to know. I haven't ran across any, but if I do, I'll know to list them with overseas shipping.
Alabama pickers is a good channel
Good taste in movies Pete!
My question is HOW DID YOU TEST everything?
Only 230 bucks?! Jeez, you’ll get that back with just one of the DVD recorders.
Yeah! I know right!
Maybe half that if it has the remote.
I sell the remotes seperatly on ebay. Alot of times they are worth as much as the device or more by themselves!
Thank You For All Of The Knowledge Pete You Are A Huge Inspiration
Another great video. I am actually beginning to collect Laser Discs. By the way, what country are you from? Cheers, buddy.

Hi Guys. Love the content. Wondering if you could share what kind of white background is used behind the Slot machine?
Thank you,

Zdeněk Futo Yes worry about the computer not having a seatbelt while the driver isn’t using one....SMH LOL
PatsCelticsFan Look again his seatbelt is on it's just the same color as his coat.
Matt Strelock I stand corrected
Didn't know Toyota sold trucks with autopilot.
Hello! I was in an accident 1.5 month ago! (Hit by a drunk driver)
No buying and reselling things! I got a couple guitars and cellphones!
Keep posting videos please!!! You’re slowed down a lot :(
Since you have the means to resale almost everything why don't you get storage lockers or foreclosure stuff is it alot of competition there or the auctions are staged?
Is that the large disk, they came out before the VHS tapes. I remember those in the store and they weren't cheap
Pete - please be careful multitasking and driving. We would hate for you to be in an accident.
susan clay a phone dash mount would be good..
230 bucks? You stole that shit!

Gotta get paid.

Resell. Not resale! 😬
resale is also correct
yokom zare No. it is not.
If he had said FOR resale, that would have been correct. TO resale is not. To resell, is. Class dismissed. I’ll see you after school for detention.
Thank you, I dont understand why this is so hard to grasp. Try saying it out loud... it sounds awkward as hell.
Mite be hard to grasped but no one cares; so they're.
How much is one of those 400 dvd changers worth?
