- One of the popular Bellhop cartoons on Sesame Street, and also the longest. The bellhop must bring 8 heavy trunks down 8 flights of stairs to the lobby.
I figured since this wasn't on RUclips, I decided to upload it. Enjoy!

I admire the bellhop's enthusiasm when he shows up every time the front desk clerk rings for him. None of his duties may be an easy way to earn a living, but at least he shows how dedicated he is at doing each and every one of them.

1:08 Same backgrounds also used in #16, in that segment Bellhop goes up. But in this he goes down.
The Bellhop must've had a pretty wild ride getting all the way downstairs with those trunks. But I will agree, he should've taken the elevator.
these skits kinda give me a Fawlty Towers kind of vibe.

@@coreyskidshow7587 Also the only thing that I could think of when it comes to #8 is the Number of Triforce Pieces in the Legend Of Zelda Series.
It's like a roller coaster ride when Bellhop got Epertone's 8 trunks down the stairs instead of taking the elevator.
Here's how the Bellhop should have done it the right way:
(The Bellhop struggles to move all eight steamer trunks.)
Bellhop: Eight trunks down eight stairs sure won't be fun. Each of these things must weigh a ton. (thinks for a couple seconds) Aha! I've got it!
(He picks up a medium sized cart with four wheels.)
Bellhop: This cart will help me move trunks one to eight and I won't be late.
(Then he loads all the trunks onto the cart.)
Bellhop: One trunk, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Whew. Eight trunks on wheels. Now, if I can just get them to fit into the elevator.
(He pushes the cart into the elevator, has a little room to move and push the button to take him down to floor number one. Ten seconds later he finally arrives, pulls the cart out of the elevator.)
Bellhop: Here are your steamer trunks, Miss Epitone. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
Miss Epitone: Thank you, Bellhop.
(Bellhop looks to the camera.)
Bellhop: Eight. Eight. Eight.

I honestly remember how much this one scared me as a kid, when he fell down those stairs.
I thought it was funny.
After the Bellhop took a very wild roller coaster ride down from floor #8 to the lobby, those eight streamer trunks landing on top of him was a huge back breaker, starting at 1:14.

It was already on RUclips, but it had different vocals for the female character. This version is the re-dubbed version.
He could've just taken the trunks down the elevator instead of down the stairs. Then it would've been problem solved and he wouldn't have to go through all that trouble. It's that simple.
Well, He almost did in the nuber 16 episode.
This animation segment originally aired in 1988.

I remember seeing this on Sprout back when I was kid. I was even scared of the purple static that plays at the end of the show prior to 2010.

The Bellhop cartoons were the final Sesame Street cartoon do be done in the classic 70's and 80's look. Later 80's cartoons, like the Sally Cruickshank cartoons gave those cartoons more digital ink. Except for Calcutta Joe and the Flossee and Splat cartoon.
nice to see desk woman in front of the desk for a change. Yet I feel for Bellhop
0:07-The woman at the desk rings her bell to call the bellhop & tells him to bring down Ms. Epitone's 8 steamer trucks from the stairs on floor #8.
0:18-The bellhop's eyes turn into even numbers which is the #8 as he says, "8! 8! 8 steamer trunks!"
Around 0:22, he counts the trunks.
At 0:26, the bellhop pulls the trunks saying, "8 trunks down 8 stairs sure won't be fun." & then says that each trunk weighed a ton.
0:38-The bellhop takes some wheels & puts the trunks on them.
The woman in these segments reminds me of the band leader who sang Follow The Fold in Guys & Dolls.
