Bellhop: "I'd like t-wen-ty please." Cashier: "Twenty? Twenty what?" Bellhop: "I, uh, I..forget. Twenty?" that ending is funny. I miss the Bellhop skits...
I took an animation course in college two years back---the professor was Steve Dovas, the animator who created all these Bellhop cartoons. That aside, I've always loved these. I think it was my first exposure to Art Deco as a kid. Actually, it was probably EVERY kid's first.
Anyways, this was one of my favorites. The "Bellhops" were probably one of the better things from the 80's...oh, who am I kidding, during both the 70's and the 80's, Sesame Street cranked out SO MANY memorable scenes. And then something went horribly wrong. ~Ra'akone
It was because of the calypso theme, around the corner, the retirement of alot of 70's material in 1994,showing ONE letter and ONE number per show,Elmo's World, retirement of alot of 80's material in the late 90's,the new format, and to top it all off 26 shows per season.
The bellhop skits were a series of skits in which the Bellhop is told to do something like bring down 8 steamer trunks and he winds up screwing everytihng up or he does it right but it turns out he didn't need to do it at all.
I never thought I'd see this one again!

Cashier: "Twenty? Twenty what?"
Bellhop: "I, uh, I..forget. Twenty?"

This was the first Bellhop short I watched as a kid......^_^ What a darling he is!!
I just love the beautiful art deco design in the animation
reminds me of jeeves and wooster
MLAaTR is chock full of art deco.
Well you can't blame the Bellhop for forgetting about the grapefruits. He was only told to remember the number mostly
I love the animation that's used in this skit. Very retro looking yet awesome.
0:20-The bellhop's eyes turn into even numbers which is number 20 & back to normal. He says, "20 grapefruits. 20. 20. 20. I've got it!"
1:03 The Bellhop's smile is so funny!
you wouldn't believe, this used to crack my mum up. she used to laugh and say "I'll have 20 please" and i'd say "20? 20 what?" lol.
i loved this skit too my favorite one was the wake up calls one i cant remember the number of that skit how many wake up calls the bellhop made
12
🤔, I did remember watching this one when I was kid.

Crazy changes
I always felt sorry for the bellhop
This is where i learned there were numbers higher than 10, even know i knew what 12 was
Bellhop: 20 grapefruits please

Watching on the first day of 2020
This is my favorite next to Typewriter Guy and Suzie Kabloozie.
funshine97
Ahaha, I remember this guy.
That was kinda cool.
Nice Bellhop
The quality's fine.
Just out of curiosity, is that Marty Ingles doing to the voice of the bellhop?
Interesting how they did only those numbers.
Maybe his voice is done by the same person who does the Count,Jerry Nelson.
The font is Broadway
It's because the computer I use sucks.
Sesame Street Bellhop 20 Episodes 3883 and 3943 on PBS Kids Sprout.

I remember all the Bellhop skits. I always thought liked his boss though. :)
Wondered why she wore a tux though.
I Wish I Would Have A $20 Bill On My Own Just Like From Sesame Street Number Of The Day 20
I think Bellhop and the girl at the desk probably wound up together in the end. :)
The bellhop sounds similar to Moose A. Moose from the Noggin channel
Twenty what sounds like 21
i wonder what would happen if you literally did what he did, like walked down the street and loudly counted out things. it'd be so awkward
Wonder if he'll make a return?
why is there no belhop sketch for 1 3 4 5 6 7 9 11 13 15 17 and 19?
Maybe because the writers of the "Bellhop" cartoons just forgot those numbers.
I assume the writers were just focusing on the upper even numbers for these sketches.
1980'S?! I thought these were Late 2000's!
They had to be 1980's. I was born in 1987 and saw them as a kid.
i guess e reason why bellhop 4 gotten dat it's 20 grapefruits cos'e receptionist said"remember e no..it's 20"
There was no #4 skit. The numbers that the bellhop dealt with were, 2, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20.
and #6.
Is it just me, or does the grocer sound exactly like the Count?
~Ra'akone
Oops!
the woman in the reception is 50 during the bellhop season however she is the hottest woman ever
HELLO!
Is anyone else reminded of The Warden from Superjail in this?
No but the pervert who directed this went to jail haha
20? 21
please
I Don't Remember This One, 🤔
Me neither
