Awesome, I loved this video as a kid. I think it's kinda funny how the popicle sticks were leaning on the sides of the cups when they went into the freezer, and were prefectly straight when they came out.
I think that one reviewer was right, sesame street is a hollow shell of what it once was.Elmo has taken over nothing's left but the memories on youtube.
Tender moments like these with little children having fun. It makes one feel good that they have such a great love of life and of each other and it's the simple things in life that make them worth it, even homemade popsicles. Also love the diversity of the children, one being black, another Asian, another white, and the fourth possible Asian, too. Here's to world harmony, with shows like Sesame Street and the precious resource that is our children. :)
i know you made this comment 4 months ago but I'm replying anyway; they're not diluting the juice. the juice is from concentrate so really what they are doing is diluting sludge.
I hardly think flimsy straws would be strong enough to support a big block of frozen juice. And I noticed a continuity error, too - the straws were just leaning against the sides of the cups when in the freezer, yet in the dead center when the kids had them. The "Time for Timer" PSA featuring orange juice, toothpicks, plastic wrap, and an ice tray is head and shoulders above this amateur production. Yet, I still give it 5 stars because I am happy to see it again. =)
Yeah! "ghetto Pops"! But you gotta admit that this showed a frozen concentrate used, not Kool aid, or for the very pressed for 8 cents, Flavor aid for four cents. I love how this and other "kiddie educational" programs in the 70's strongly killed off ethnic prejudices because it wasn't common to have all races on one show as main focal point people, but it's sad that now and days the folks at sesame street decided to sanitize these old gems entirely. A mistake.
Love the perfect ethnic mix at the end.

Wow...it's been quite a while since I saw this. YT throwback!
Cathryn Aison wrote and directed for Sesame Street. Charles Gross wrote the music and Susan Rose styled the images.

wow, what a blast from the past!!!
that segment always made me thirsty.
ah..juice pops... I used to have so much fun making those when I was a kid..thing is, we used toothpicks and ice cube trays instead..
I never understood how the straws would go in the freezer on their sides and then come out straight up and down.
This is a classic clip I remember growing up. Sesame street has always been diverse and aimed at more urban kids. That's why the faces are unique.

The mixing of races was taboo in most of the deep south until fairly recently.
Really? On account of that? How come?
