Awesome upgrade from V6 , good wide fitting 10/10 good for low grade trails no serious tech. Good shoe if your looking for a shoe that's not approach shoe.
The mid is going to be in every NB outlet worldwide next year since the numbers of buyers will be - ZERO😁

i never understood the design of that flap in the back of the shoe. i'd had 2 earlier version of this shoe and my runs always ended up with more dirt in my shoe as the flap acted as a dirt scooper. weird

I like the Version 6 better because you could run road to trail in them. The vibram megagrip outsole was less aggressive. The version 7 has more aggressive ,deeper lugs which is fine, but I'm not hiking in them . I use hiking boots for hiking mountains.
If they're gonna name the shoe after the Spanish word for iron, they should pronounce it more like YEHro, instead of the English "hero."
Are they good to hike in the mountains as well?
Definitely! The hierro is a great all around trail option that is used quite a bit by both trail runners and hikers. -Connor
