The "A Queen in New York" eponymous 4 track EP produced by ANNIKA AND THE FOREST accompanies Marine Béliard's novel also entitled "A Queen in New York", to be published on May 15th by “Rivages Noir”. It is the fruit of an artistic collaboration between the author and the artist Annika and The Forest, inspired by the musical pop and rock styles from the 70s and 80s. With a mix of guitars, bass guitars (Victor Paimblanc) and drums (David Aknin), the EP’s 4 songs plunge us into the story of the novel and its themes: the quest for fame, the search for self, addictions, desire and hidden love.
"Oblivious" (B-side, album "White light, dark soul", 1978): is the darkest track on the album, Elva presents this as a tribute to Lou Reed, through both the the lyrics and the musical composition, whose world inspired her greatly.

L’EP « A Queen in New York » produit par ANNIKA AND THE FOREST accompagne en musique la sortie du roman de Marine Béliard du même nom, qui paraîtra le 15 mai aux éditions Rivages Noir. Il est le fruit d’une collaboration artistique entre l’autrice et l’artiste Annika and The Forest, qui signe ici quatre titres, inspirés des styles musicaux des années 70 et 80. Mélange de rock et de pop, avec guitare, guitare basse, (Victor Paimblanc), et batterie, (David Aknin), les morceaux nous plongent dans l’histoire du roman et ses thématiques : quête de la célébrité, recherche de soi, addictions, désir, amour caché.
"Oblivious" (face B album "White light, dark soul ", 1978) : morceau le plus sombre de l’album, Elva présente ce morceau comme un hommage à Lou Reed, tant dans le texte que la composition musicale, dont l’univers l’a beaucoup inspirée.
