That concrete arched building in the background is Uline Arena. A small arena which can handle hockey and basketball, and holds a couple of thousand. Old-time Washingtonians assure me it was the first place the Beatles played in Washington. The next was RFK Stadium.
The P-42's are not random they were moving in place for that SilverStar when the star came in they switched engines so it could head further south where there are no catenary wires for electrics. I know look AF my channel I live down in North Carolina also I saw that come into Raleigh that night
All the times I rode in and out of Union Station while working for Uncle Sam I never had the time to really observe the comings and goings. Great video from a great vantage point. The best I could do would be to watch the Capitol LImited pulling out for Chicago as I sat on the 4:05 northeast regional.
Great little video with lots of variety MARC's, Metro's and Amtrak's. - I still wonder why the Acela is SO expensive when compared with it's European counterparts. TGV, AVE, ICE, THALYS, Eurostar and Freccibianca
Probably in Philadelphia - 30th Street Station is good. In DC, try Garrett Park, Maryland. One of my favourite childhood trainwatching spots. The beginning of my Zephyr 1999 video has a shot from there!
Look like those trains not on duty because they driving them back and forth in the yard station. That is very alot switch tracks at union station. That is alot wire look really dangerous.
Thanks for this footage. What a great tip to go trainspotting from the NoMa-Gallaudet U. Metro Station!

Because it’s the Acela. Of course it’s expensive.
wat train is that at 5:33 not the acela the train backing up
I guess they were going back into the station. Probably putting a train on the platform for loading.
The p42's were not random, and the train you thought was the Silver Meteor, was actually the silver star. Th

I Really Have A Serious Crush On You Amtrak Acela Express Trains ❤️🚆❤️
a good place to watch trains there is the parking garage the is next to the station
I noticed that you are shooting trains from the METRO station. Did they make you have a METRO ticket to record there or did nobody mind?
Actually, when I go to that station, I'm usually there from another station in the network anyway, so I have a ticket.

Ok, any other busy spots to watch Amtrak at?

How can you know which trains are which amtrak routes?
You can look at the train number on the engine..........
This was the Silver Star. The Silver Meteor comes at around 6:45-7:00 PM.
Avoid the Union Station lines, Avoid the surge fees, and call Senate Transportation Services for outdoor Meet & Greet from Union Station.
29 leaves D.C. at around 4 pm.
