    The mom of the girl with disabilities transferred her to a school with staff who can treat students with dignity and respect.

      That's where she should of been to start with.
      they wouldn't let a gen ed student bring an outside nurse so why would they allow every other student to be distracted by a situation like this?.

    I really have an issue with this whole not being allowed to record people at work that are working for you. I understand that people have the right to personal privacy but that does not pertain to employment. Your employer has the right to record you doing your job. All convenience stores, banks retail outlets etc record the people working for them. In this case all tax payers but especially people who have a child in the school are really the employers and we have a right to know what is going on. If you are having a meeting and need to record so as to capture what people are saying there should be no issue in this context. This is their job and everything they say and do should be available unless there is some sort of proprietary thing going on and the formula or method of something could reach the wrong hands. That is NOT the case here. If you are at work and acting as you should, there should be absolutely no reason to have an issue with recordings. Do not say and do things that you do not want people to have proof that you have done. Bathrooms and such of course are different. But you are required to act a certain way and do certain things at work and I think it is completely fair for someone to want proof of you doing that!

      When it comes to some types of meetings, one can record only if they notify school officials, so they can record, as well. I'm guessing so both sides can't alter the recording, which I'm okay with. I also happen to a parent to a child with special needs.

    IF THE STUDENT NEEDS ROUND THE CLOCK CARE AT SCHOOL THAT MEDIC HAS TO BE WITH STUDENT ASHLEY WHO NEEDS THE CARE THE SCHOOL HAS NO RIGHT TO TELL THE MEDIC THAT SHE CAN'T BE WITH HER CLIENT I HOPE THE SCHOOL GETS IN TROUBLE FOR NOT ALLOWING THE MEDIC TO DO HER JOB

    I think what happened was she took her cell phone out for whatever reason, and I guess they have a zero tolerance on that type of arena and decided to punish her for that with no exceptions or excuses.

      @@awl1116 yes they are! If the meeting was about the child then the parents should have been there as well. The nurse plays a very important role in this students life and as just as much right to be in the meeting with the teacher and the teacher assistant. The nurse did what she felt was right recorded the conversation as not to leave anything out when she spoke to the parents.

    If I was the mother I’d get a new nurse at least for school. The child’s wellbeing should be put above loyalty to the nurse.

    For those that feel entitled that the child shouldn’t belong at the public school then why does the district and school accept government funding and specifically shares from the demographic of special need families public schools a majority are Title 1 meaning our tax dollars go towards everything that child can ever need including tutoring extra supportive help dietary and medicinal needs intensive classes special education classes outside specialty services and extracurricular activities families of special needs children aren’t exempt from paying taxes to schools just because they choose to homeschool or use another type of school
    Now if the school doesn’t accept Title 1 funding then they can deny the child from enrolling or returning

    • @piinkam0r
      @piinkam0r 2 года назад

      There is tho. Most of these people get disability checks that depending on severity I’ve seen someone get $4000 and alot of times they can have private care so why not have her going to school online

    There is a 11 year old girl in my school named Dayana Meija-Yanes who also have a nurse with her at school named Taylor Because Dayana was born with a medical condition and which caused her to use braces to help her walk and ride on a wheelchair and my school would allow Taylor to be with Dayana

    Everyone saying "stupid school" or "it's the school's fault", no it isn't. It is the parents' fault that didn't get her to a special needs school. Unfortunately, kids with special needs can't thrive in common schools, neither can the school staff keep up with the needs of the kid.
