    *However TO sounds like a relax TOO. Now, I have also been explained that when TO is followed by a word starting with a vowel, one inserts an imaginary W between TO and the word starting with a vowel.*

      "I needed to have been a doctor." That'd be correct. Which means that {maybe} you wanted to be a doctor but for some reason you chose a different career. Or it could also mean that you needed to have been a doctor in order to have done a medical procedure.

      And "been" and "become" are different. Been is the participle of be. "She was in Australia. "She's been to Australia."
      "I needed to have become a doctor." (Become is this case is also participle. Become is an irregular verb, thus, the present and the participle are both "become". The past tense is "became")
