I like the tic tac containers because they hold about 800 square drills, they take up very little space on my desk, and it's really easy to shake out only one or two drills if you're working on a heavy confetti area.

Hi Mrs Coffee. Last weekend I decided to change up my storage system for the Round and the Square drills/resins. I went from using tiny little plastic jars I bought at Dollar Tree to using 2x2" zip lock bags. I have 2 big plastic totes to put them in now. I placed each set of numbers: 105-169; 208-225; 300-372; 400-498; 500-598; 600-699; 700-799; 800-899; 900-999; 3011-3078; 3325-3372; 3607-3689; 3705-3799; 3801-3866 in separate quart size zip lock bags. And I did that with both the Round and the Square drills/resins. It was time consuming but atleast I have everything in one spot. God Bless you and your family and your 2 pups, too! Love to all, Judi

Mrs. Coffee! I love your channel.
I don't, currently, use any of the storage systems you showed, but I think I would like the Harbor Freight for kitting up my projects, and there's a Harbor Frieght walking distance from my house.
What I use for long-term storage are these little containers from the $Tree. They come 10 to a pack, in round or square. They can hold a huge amount of drills. I put my round drills in the round containers & my square drills in the, you guessed it, square containers. I store them in an underbed storage box along with my "kits in waiting" or KIW. When I need more for new colors, I grab a buck & hop on my bike & head to the $Tree. It's cheep & easily expandable.
Thanks for this video, you gave me some good ideas.
Light & love to you and yours.

Thank you so much for all your videos Mrs. Coffee! I love your videos. I have the first kit with the connecting cases, Harbor Freight, the black case set, Darice and I just got the Lockables. The Darice containers are easy to open if you put your thumbnail just under the lip of the clasp that closes the snap and then it is very easy to open. My favorite ones to use are the Darice and Harbor Freight.

I don't care for my Lockables I purchased - they are just a pain to get in and out of. And, the Darice storage system was just awkward and takes up my space I work around. I purchased a ton of the Harbor Freight containers - they are easiest to work with in the individual little snap boxes. And, when I'm not using them, they simply stack on top of each other. Thanks, Mrs. Coffee, great video!

Good talk about drill storage! I do the shoe box and baggies for spare drills. Living in a remote area like i do, i hold on to all my spare drills and that option is cost and space effective. I was recently inspired by a birthday present of some plastic containers that were 2.5 x 2 x 1.25 inches in dimensions to create my own working drill storage for projects. I made the housing and shelves for 50 containers out of materials from around the house. It's a vertical storage so it takes up just a few inches of space on my work table. The entire thing cost me $11. The containers can hold 20K drills each. As much as i am tempted to get Harbor Freight and Darice (i might get the itchy fingers and get them anyway...) i adore my custom storage.

I like a lot of the storage systems that you have. For kitting up my diamond art paintings I use the Craft Mate Lockables. Why because I usually get big diamond art paintings an they end up having enough storage left over. I kitted up Que Rico Siren using the Craft Mate Lockables after all the drills were kitted up I had four containers left over. Also, Craft Mate Lockables are easy to store in a bookcase I have six or so large diamond art paintings already kitted up an nicely put away in my bookcase next to my window in my craft room.
Then when I Kit Down I like to use the Harbor Freight storage system. For instance they are small enough to fit on a shelf like in a bookcase. They only hold 24 storage containers but their inexpensive only like $4.60 at Harbor Freight. So, that's how I like to Kit Up my diamond art paintings an store my left over drills. Loved your video Mrs. Coffee. Laughs I think I have everyone of the storage systems you showed except for the rainbow one. Have a great day an stay cool oh dont forget to drink a lot of H20!!!

Great video. I'm a header, my first love, so I have a couple of systems. My most favorite that I use for long time storage are those bolt and screw holding drawers that slide out, it has 60 drawers, I got it at Home Depot, I put my findings in, I have one of those.
The next one I have is a similar system has a 4 x 2 drawer and I believe it has 20 drawers, I have 3 of them, and they hold a half kilo or 500 grams of seed beads 11/0. I use the lockables for my silver beads, Bali silver styled, it's the best one for them and I wish I had another one because I have more styles of them because you can never have enough beads.
The last one I use are the screw top system I have two sizes and there is another style type. There is the screw top and the slide on type. I like the screw top for its portability and slide on top for working on my desk. I have the small ones and the other size holds double of the small one.
I don't have better dimensions because I am not at home right now. Thank you for sharing your organization systems. Have a nice day 🌼🌼🌼

I am like most of us. I have tried several options for storage. I was also thinking of long term but didn't think it through. I started with sauce cups. Didn't like them. My niece uses them when she makes slime. Then I used the small 1 x 2 zip bags, I still use those but only for leftovers. I also tried the Harbor Freight one. I gave those to my niece. I do have several of the tic tac containers. I use those for the leftovers of special-shaped drills/rhinestones. I saw on someone's channel the stackable round ones in different sizes. Love those for kitting up. They come in 3 different sizes. You get one stack of each size. I always bought double of those. They're not very expensive. I have 6 sets of those because they do brake as you said. I'm sticking with those. Then for long term I do what Ella does with zip bags with index cards, in a big plastic container with lid.

I love my tic tac boxes! They look small, but can actually fit a lot in them (1400 round drills, haven't counted the square ones, but I assume is roughly the same amount) and I use them as my long term storage. And I have a small plastic shoe box where I keep all my unopened bags. I don't have a system in the shoe box, but I do keep an excel spreadsheet where I keep count on how many bags of each color I have.

Hi! I use both the Darice and the tic tac boxes all the time. I love the variety of sizes the Darice storage gives you for my current projects. However, the xsmall containers hold way more than 200. I can fit close to 1 000 diamonds each. The tic tac boxes look really tiny, but each holds 1,000 diamonds, as well. I use those for long term storage. I appreciated seeing what other storage options are out there. Thank you for sharing

I have all those storage method you listed above except the tray one.
I love the lockables but for kitting up to expensive for long term storage.
Tic tack storage. It wasnt really good for me for storage or kitting up... not big enough to hold diamond of 1 large pack for not that big of a painting... had to use multiple boxes for one color. The lids would pull out easily on some boxes, but not others.
Love the harbor freight containers. Dont think I would want them for long term storage, because I do both rounds and squares. They are bad for drills getting stuck around lid when you open the lid... they fall out on you. Really great for kitting up... but if you have lots of colors like more than 27 you have to use more than one box... but I still love them for kitting up.
Ahhh the suitcase one with round jars. Great for if you have a bunch of colors for a project. Wont hold large bags. I got the one for 120 bottles. So I put extra drills in zipper pouch on it. I have one kitted up in it now that has 60 colors. So dont know if I will like the screw off lids or not. Definitely not for long term storage... too expensive for that and dont hold enough.
Long term storage but not for kitting up. 2x3 inch 4 mill ziplock baggies with index cards in a shoe box. Rachael Rae used this method and I like it. Heres why... I have 4 shoe boxes and bought 1000 bags. The 4 mill. bags will stand up easily verses the thinner bags you get with your kits. I have drills from several different companies which I want to keep separate. I have both squares and rounds... so this method makes the most sense for me.

I use the fat jars from Walmart. I kit up in them. I label them with the DMC number and the symbol. I put my jars in a Keurig carousel that I modified, while diamond painting. When I finish the painting I remove them from
the carousel, remove the symbol from the jar and place the jars in numerical order in stackable plastic drawers. I combine the ones with the same DMC number if the colors match, or file them next to the ones of the same number that don’t match. These drawers are stacked up on my desk.

I currently use snap top paint/bead containers from Dollor Tree. The large one comes in a pack of 6 and holds about 2000 diamonds. The small one comes in a set of 8 and holds about 1000 diamonds. I also bought round labels from Dollar tree and will add a dot below the # if round diamonds. The labels are easy to remove. And once kitted, I put in a small decorated box that I can drop in a tool bax with all my tools and "snack" size dps. Extra drills go into a labeled ziploc bag, then into a separate box on my bookshelf.

Ive used a good number, if not almost all of these at least once for projects. My favorite to use for projects is the lockables; and I also have come to like the harbor freight for projects. Whichever storage I use for a project is often determjned by how many colors I have in that dp. If it only has 20 some odd colors, Im not going to bother with the lockables, if it has closer to 40+ then the lockables is my go to containers. (they hold between 1200-1400 in each compartment). For long term storage, Ive done ziplock baggies that were just thrown into a larger bag separated by seller (EM, DPF, Heartful Diamonds, etc). I looked at using harbor freight for long term because each box held quite a few drills, and they are relatively cheap. However, To me, this system would become bulky over the long run. I wanted my drills to be easy enough to find and see what I had, so I opted to go with using a photo box to essentially file the little baggies of spare drills. This is a bit of work to build and get set up, but I find now that once its established, its a lot easier to dekit projects and store extra drills.
The black box (60 bottle) container would be good for something like a HAED project where you have 60+ colors in the kit.

Sorry for spamming 🙈 but the tic tac and 28 grids holds 4-5 small bags off drills.
When I kit up a project I don’t put all the drills in containers.
I have 1 container (tic tac or 28 grid) for each color and then I refill as needed. I just keep the unopened bags in a large ziplock bag with the name of the painting.

I used the tic tac containers from Michaels that had 24 containers in the box. I don’t remember the size of the painting, but I remember that there was a total of 19,200 drills. I had no problem storing all of the drills. Doing the math, each container should be able to hold 800 drills. Not all of my containers were full so it could probably hold a little more than that. I had no problems with the style/functionality either. I just received the smaller version of the first one you showed (like the double rainbow). I’m excited to see if I like it better or not.

Can I be the little devil on your shoulder and say that there are these containers similar to those of the purple case with the 60 jars but they are slightly larger with metal caps. They are on AliExpress for about $25 and they look GORGEOUS! They have 60 jars, case, and an option of either silver or 'gold' caps which actually look more like a bronze color.

for me - longterm is a shoe box, kitting up is harbor freight or the 24 count containers. I have the darice but when you have confetti, it makes your finger tips hurt from opening and closing them. I used them once. Haven't purchased any of the others

I use Darice for long time storage. The plastic on the lockable will become a little loser with use. I use this for 50x50. Then the case with jars, I love those those. My jars are taller than yours. Great for travel. I have the habor freight too but I like to use one storage containers. I use the 24 tick tact for just the ABs.

I have a bunch of the lockables... You can get just the containers without the binder at Joann's... They also have two different sizes a 2XL and a 3XL

Having tried pretty much all of those systems, my favorites are the Lockables and the Darice systems. I feel like the Locables are easier for kitting up and kitting down but the Darice are probably easier to use while you're actually painting. Especially since I noticed a nifty trick from one of Gone Off My Meds's videos where you use a small metal measuring spoon to dip out the diamonds into your tray. :)
But I will say that I really like those little bitty 28/56 grid storage containers for kitting down. Cause so far I haven't had a ton of diamonds left over and those small containers are perfect for that. Also, those containers take up no space at all. So really great if you're going to keep your diamonds but don't anticipate having too many leftovers. :)

I have the purple zip up case, but i ordered the smaller bottles (2.5cm tall) by mistake. I can still fit over 1000 square drills in each of those. Don't have any long term storage yet.

My favorite is the lockables. Got them at Michaels with coupon paid $12.
Long term storage is plastic ziplocks 2x3 with a blank business card and kept in a photo box. Have tic tax boxes, they hurt my hand to open. Have the 28, they don’t stay closed. Unscrewing any little jar also makes my hands hurt.

I'm new to DP, but I plan on using my Akro-Mils mountable storage drawers to hold my diamonds long term. I have 4 of them I'm not currently using for anything. Thanks to Stitcherista, I ordered the zip-up black & purple case for current projects. Got it on AliExpress, so I might have to wait a bit longer. Right now I'm using the Darice that just has the smaller containers. It's okay, but I think screwtop will work better on my poor fingers. Thanks for sharing this!

My long term storage is something completely different. I use a 3 ringer binder that is 3" wide. Plus baseball card sleeves. It takes two binders and about 45 sleeves in each, to do all the colors. Colors in little baggies, in each card sleeve. With the sleeve numbered with sticker. Label the binder edge with square or round, whichever; and then 1-whatever number. Then same for next but with remaining numbers. Up on the shelf like a book they go.

I use the Harbor Fraight to kit up my diamond paintings and I use a binder with the baseball card plastic things. I put the diamonds from each kit in seperate baggies and put all the same colors in a pocket together because not ever kits colors matc. I will also put inventory sheets in the back in one of the full shit holders.

Don’t have & haven’t tried the lockables. Always thought they looked like more trouble than they were worth!😂 I’ve used the stackables in the past for something else (don’t remember what). I am a bit OCD about individual containers, when unscrewed and no individual top, it drove me bonkers! 🤪 That’s why I don’t care for the ones like your new rainbow storage, the individuals are connected 🤦🏼‍♀️. I have the ones from Walmart....love those. Unimpressed with the tic tac boxes. Just a couple of weeks ago, went to Harbor Freight for the first time and purchased 4 of the 25 pc sets.....love them!!😍😍 I will be doing my first BIG diamond painting. Working on Jades Treasure...almost done. Next, the Fairy!!!! I love my Tinkerbell!!! Thanks for the video.👍🏼👍🏼

Hello. I know that they cost a little more but I tend to like the last one that you showed and I have two of them for my permanent storage but I just went to family dollar and bought a plastic bowl for kit up when I am working my diamond paintings. You can go to Wal-Mart and look in the medicine containers and you can find the lockable.

I love the Harbor Freight ones! They are my go to, I am on my second 60x80 and I would not use any other for them. I am think the Darice for long term since I just want a few leftover drills. Thanks for the video it was very helpful! 😁

I am an odd ball and keep my long-term in ziploc bags. I have all the storage stuff and don't care for the Daurice or little tictac. I have some large tictac containers that were full of the mint candies and i have repurposed them when they were empty, of course, to hold 310s 5200s 939s etc. They hold a crap load.

I plan on using the 56 containers for long term storage... You only need 10 boxes and they’re not going to take a lot of space. They’ll stack nice too.
Ordered 5, and will order 5 more later.

For long term storage i have the 82 piece Darice system. I bought stackables from Walmart that i use for most projects and just ordered the Lockables from Michael's to try out. I have the small 28 count storage for my kids when they do diamond painting but i don't really like them. At Michael's i got the Lockables for 21 dollars after shipping but i also used a coupon. I am thinking about getting the Harbor Freight containers but haven't yet.

I have the tic tac containers, the black case that holds 60 colors, and I just ordered some Darice cases! I like the black case for kitting up/down projects and I am hoping to use the Darice for long term, because I’d tack containers are not my favorite.

I love my harbor freight. It's my go 2. But I also love my 60 bottle like you have. I believe mine are taller then yours and I can fit quite a bit in there. I think mine are 5cm tall. 🤔 .But the harbor freight is so much easier. I also like the darice.. I have 'The beauty' kitted up in it. I wasn't big on the tic tac boxes or the stackables but they are nice for the snacks between big paintings. 😊 Thanks for sharing.
