  • In this video, I compare two of the most popular instant cameras today-Fujifilm's hybrid Instax Mini Evo and the analog Instax Mini 12. I compare the pictures that they take in sunny and low light conditions and I also compare how easy they are to use.

    Summary:
    Evo is bad in sunny/bright places and good in dark places.
    Mini 12 is the opposite, good in sunny places and bad in dark places.

    I like my evo but yeah I notice even with adjustments the pictures don’t come out as clear as the instant one, the only time they come out good is when I use it to print pictures from my phone but even then I have to adjust the settings a bit

      True, I wish Fujifilm would come out with an improved Evo

      Agreeeee! I thought I just got a bad batch of film at first but nope the print quality looks too like printer quality. Which I don't like.

    So, which one should I buy? I still confused. I want to make film. Can I use mini 12 for film or it’s just use for picture.

      Most people would choose the Evo, you already have other film cameras and a good digital camera, the cheaper Mini 12 would be fine.

    you sacrificed a lot of film to make this video!

    can the Mini Evo be adjusted to print the photo immediately when pressing the button as with the Mini 12?

      You can only change basic settings like print brightness and contrast in camera. For more complicated edits like cropping, adding filters, etc., you can send the photo to a phone or computer edit it there and then send back to the Evo for printing. Fujifilm also has an Evo app that can do that more seamlessly between phone and camera.

    I’m mostly concerned with snapping a picture on outdoor walks or hikes which could include sun or be in the woods with shade.
    Hmm still undecided. I like that I might save on film with the Evo since technically I wouldn’t have to print it out if I didn’t like it but the higher price & battery not able to replace is another thing.

      The analog cameras like the mini 12 work best outdoors so for hikes outside in the woods wouldn't be a problem as long as the light isn't too contrasty. If you're comfortable shooting on film, the savings on the Mini 12 is worth it. I do, however recommend the Evo to most people who have no experience shooting on film. Evo battery life has not been an issue for me but I'm a disciplined shooter-I typically shoot only about 100-200 shots for a typical 3 day vacation. Even if it's non-replaceable, it would take several years for the battery to degrade. The battery technically *can* be replaced if degraded but you'll need some electronics repair skills to replace it..

    Wow, this video really sold the mini 12, it's more basic but the photos came out better in all comparisons except the closeup which you wouldn't use this camera for anyway

    Can you also make a comparison video of Mini evo vs mini 99

    • @GoneWithFilm
      @GoneWithFilm  3 месяца назад

      I already have an SQ6 so I'm not interested in getting a Mini 99. For most people, the Mini Evo would be the better choice because it's a hybrid and much easier to use. While the 99 is a great camera, most users who are not experienced photographers will have a difficulty in mastering the camera.

    does all has memory card place?

    • @GoneWithFilm
      @GoneWithFilm  Год назад +4

      The Mini Evo has a card slot for Micro SD cards. It also has internal memory. The Mini 12 is purely analog and does not have a card slot.

    My mini 12 Is blurry most of the photos can u explain

    • @GoneWithFilm
      @GoneWithFilm  11 месяцев назад

      1) Check the lens if it's in the normal position 2) make sure your subject is at the correct distance (60cm and further for normal, 30-40cm from camera for selfie/closeup mode) 3) If still blurred after the first two, have your camera checked at the service center, the lens might be mis-aligned

      i notice that with my mini 12 as well, but i realized that when you capture you need to steady for at least 3-5 seconds and it will print a clear image. you can try, it works well on me
