Imo the simgot 500LM with siver and black rings sound the best.. though i added another ring to it. It sounded better with double rings. Cant explain why.
I’ve had the ea500lm for a while now, and my cure for excessive pinna gain is to put a #400 grade 4.8mm tuning filter on the gold nozzle. It pulled the pinne down about 2-2.5db. Works a charm and would put it very close to your target. (Which is very close to mine). Great review Lachlan. Cheers.
@@JoseFerreira-zb7wh yes the extra black rings that come in the box. And btw i used divinus velvet tips on it. Also tried the s&s .. both are good but it seened the divinus has more a refined, accurate sound.
Yes thats what i thought so too. And just maybe since drivers move air for sound to travel can be a reason for a good seal. Like sealed type speakers or subs.
The answer to this question might be too long for a comment, but how was it that you went about designing your own target curve Lachlan? And does it ever change over time? Is there another video where you have maybe covered this topic?
I’m just watching the video just now and wondering, is this a sort of ‘winner stays on’ style thing, like when playing pool or street fighter 2 in an arcade sort of competition, where the best of the two sets makes it through to the next round?
Know something weird? The other day when you sent out the patreon newsletter that mentioned the Kinera Elise, well for whatever reason when I started searching for them, I was typing in Kinera Celest, and couldn’t find them, and then watching the video I see you sort of got them mixed up too, why did we both make that mistake? Odd and funny. I’m putting it down to all of these arbitrary names being confusing.
@@PassionforSound it’s designed so frequencies around 250hz are channeled through it, thereby canceling them out. It’s been used in different speaker systems since the 50s, nothing new except its application. Sometimes it’s called a Helmholtz Resonator . It’s a passive filter without electronics. They gave it a new name( KARS I think, but it’s not new tech). The idea is to cut certain low-mid frequencies so lower frequencies become more apparent. In speaker systems it works less as you give it more power, so you end up with varied responses at different levels. I haven’t seen it in any modern design. You’re actually the first review I’ve seen that likes it. The marketing claims “a subwoofer response “ which many reviewers found deceptive. Check out Crins review, headline “SUBWOOFER ?”. It’s got nothing to do with a subwoofer.
Yes, I didn't get too caught up in the marketing, but would agree that it's not like having a sub. I'm aware of Helmholtz Resonators, etc. but didn't realise that's what the KARS was doing (I don't tend to worry too much about marketing claims because every brand has their version so all that really matters to me is how it sounds).
Strong Max Headroom vibes in the glitch
So true!
Thank you. Was wondering if something was wrong with my web or device lol. Was about to powercycle everything
Thank you for this Lachlan, that Elise Audio IEM was the Dark Phoenix (a collaboration with Kinera)
Yes. I got to that understanding after a little confusion! 🤣

I'll try that some time. Thanks for the tip!

@@fiddlix, I searched online for "#400 grade 4.8mm tuning filter" but failed to see what it was to which you were referring.
what rings? nozzles is it?

The Final E tips TWS have larger bores and open up the treble a little bit compared to the normal Final Tips.
I haven't tried those yet. Sounds like another good option
Wow a lot of work went into this one! 🙌
Sure did! It's less editing though so if people like this approach, I'll gladly do them like this again.
Wow a lot of information here. You have gone above and beyond and I appreciate it.
Glad it was helpful!
ThanksMuch for posting !
The Dark Phoenixcall and the OG Phoenixcall appear to graph almost identically if my memory serves me correctly.
according to graphs in squiglink the dark has a lot more subbass and a little less treble. So the name serves it right. 😀
@@JoseFerreira-zb7wh You are correct. I went and checked after my comment.
Yes. My understanding is that Elise Audio worked with Kinera on a retune of the OG Phoenixcall
@@PassionforSound it's exclusive to elise audio, right?
That's correct (AFAIK)
Nice. Good to see on squig

What’s your thought on 64 audio Volür is it worth the money and how does it compare to XE6 or RE6 ?
I haven't tried it - sorry! I personally find the 64Audio IEMs rarely hit the mark for my preferences even though they're excellent.

Kind of 😁

Its their take on a Hemholtz Filter.
The Singolo that is
It's working well if it's producing the quality of bass from the Singolo!

Just try the new Onyx frm nobles.. Wutz all dis??... Peace!
Never watched any of your videos were the video and the audio were out of sync. Trying to be too fancy with your equipment setup.
Not trying to be fancy, just testing some new equipment for an upcoming trip.
Your lips and mouth on this video are out of sync with the video.
Sorry about that. Camtasia has made things very difficult since the 2023 version came out. 😕
