I installed the Rocky Roads 2.5” lift with Upper Control Arms on my 2018 Durango, which is basically a stretched wheelbase Grand Cherokee. Really works well. 👍
I’ve followed your build. Nice work brother!! I also want to go with the dobinson lift and do the uca at the same time. Hopefully we’ll meet up on the trails!! Keep it going!!
@@GrandExploration sure man .. and following you isn't cheap .. 😂😂 I'm trying to keep my jeep stock but it seems like I'm loosing .. already bought the wheels , suspensions, engine and transmission plate guards .. and I can't seem to stop it 🤣🤣
I have a Summit with Quadralift and AirLinks which allows me to set my normal ride height to OR1, and I'm wondering if the RRO upper control arms would benefit me at all? I have the suspension links dialed in pretty well at this point, but when I run over larger potholes or ruts, the suspension bottoms out. I think it's the shocks that take the brunt of it. Do you think these UCAs would provide any additional clearance for an air suspension equipped GC? Thanks!
They don’t really add clearance. Aftermarket UCAs are stronger and can take more abuse and allows you to reach better alignment specs for a vehicle that is lifted above stock because stock UCAs are only meant for stock height. Your UCAs that you have should be able to handle any height your Quadra lift allows for but it could benefit you as far as being stronger for trail abuse
My apologies. I missed the part where I show you how to remove the UCA bolts out of the engine bay on both driver and passenger side. If anyone has any questions either leave a comment with your question or follow me on IG and leave me a DM and I will help you out.
@@soc5312 my apologies we lost some footage on this video unfortunately.but there was no easy way. The passenger side is easier to stick your hand back there but the driver side you literally have to squeeze your arm back there, feel for the nut. It’s not fun.
@@GrandExploration Thank you for the reply, I ended up cutting the lock flange off the bolt from the inside and with a wrench propped on the engine side nut, I loosed the bolt from the wheel well side, that was actually fairly easy. Putting it back on was much easier. Hope this helps with the missing footage. ;D
When you go to their site, go to the Grand Cherokee, then at the top is Suspension, the click on the WK2 picture. On the very bottom you will see an order part of the page with drop down menu's, you will see there are 2 different selections for Upper Control Arms 2011-2015 and 2016-2021. Both appear to be on sale at the moment.
@@chobbar.wk02 They probably forgot to update the text for the drop down. I have emailed them in the past, and they are quick to answer. I would call just to confirm, plus let them know of their oversight.
Working on a Jeep, in the rain, with a buddy... That's a good day. Actually fixing it... makes a great day.
Indeed it does haha
I have these UCA's on my lifted WK, so far so good. I like Rock Road Outfitters parts, plus I like that its helping a small business.
Yea and they answer in the first ring.

Nice. Tell me did you have an issue with your UCA boots being squished constantly?
@@GrandExploration yup. 🤷♂️
@@CraigG21 I wonder what’s up with that.

I freaking love DIYs , awesome vid man .. I'm following your jeep upgrades since the start .. keep it up 💪

How do you get to the bolts - is it like behind the glove compartment or something??
I checked out this video to see how to remove the upper control arm nuts from the engine bay side. You completely omitted that part.

@@soc5312 I heard of people doing that. Thank you
What lift kit are you using ?
Dobinsons IMs lift kit
How do you get that “blue” part in the UCA?
The ball joint? You asking about buying it separately? You can order extras from rocky road outfitters or pretty much any auto store
But how do you select the color? It is not giving me the option to do so
@@miguelvega3320 you can’t choose a color. It’s a Moog ball joint. They are all blue

@PreparedOverlander thank u. I did that option. In the drop-down option, it says 16-19. I will try again

Yea they have it for up to 2021
Just make sure you choose the correct year in the drop down. I just checked and it says 2021. It’s the second package down in the list.
