Me and two friends had paddled along Greenland's west coast and were there when this happened. We had tent on the other side of the cliff when the iceberg suddenly began to calve. And then everything happened quickly... In the middle of the movie you can see one of us coming up. All did well! An adventure to paddle with whales, but an adventure that ended in a rather unexpected way...
Thanks to all the people who came to our rescue!

I was just going to post and ask what happened as you were there then instantly gone. I was hoping you were just in the ditch on the other side of the wave. That must have been freaky seeing that wave coming at you! I’m glad you’re both ok!
      Thanks for sharing.

This is, in fact, a tsunami. It's not covering the entire Pacific Ocean, but it is a real tsunami, caused by the sudden displacement of a large amount of water, as opposed to the normal waves created by wind.

I can't believe the people who were in that boat at the mouth of the bay when it happened survived at all.

It's not a tautology. For that to be true the words tsunami and wave would need to be synonyms. All tsunamis are waves, but not all waves are tsunamis. Therefore you can have a wave that is like a tsunami, and a wave that is not like a tsunami. In fact, this *is* a tsunami wave, but that doesn't make your point any less wrong.

Good view of the Greenlander's sewage system. Dump it right into the ocean.

In Canada we've close to 10 billion dollars cleaning up the cities sewage sysytems, even though Montreal had to dump 10 billion liters of sewerage into the St. Lawrence River so they could expand their waste system.
