    There is a cool trigger when you are looking to move up that not a lot of people talk about, stop moving as they start to hit their return. then dig the return or reset, then start to move, only to stop again when they start to swing again. long gone are the days of single third shot drop into getting to the net

    Great points! The issue I have been having is not being more aggressive after an excellent third shot drop when the opponent pops up a ball I am either too late or back in transition zone to smash it like you did. Would you suggest focusing on ball height and paddle position after the 3rd, or what other tells should I be aware of when they might pop it up or at least hit a dead dink that I can be aggressive with too?

    Why don't you do a split step when doing drop shots in the transition zone? Isn't that something you're supposed to do to get a straight, clean, and consistent shot?
