God, for real though.. You can't even say she's as sympathetic as she is in Silver Snow or Verdant Wind, but she's so much more central to Azure Moon and it's so much more tragic, that hearing this knocks the wind right out of you.

The song, to me represents Byleth, the main character. When it talks about lost memories only they'll know, it means regaining Sothis' memories. When it talks about not feeling the rain or ground and chasing a shadow, it's Byleth chasing Kronya for revenge upon Jeralt. The blackened heart means not being controlled by the same power that controlled Nemesis and turning people into black/demonic beats. The mask means about her/him keeping her/his secrets. The memories being sublime represents the joyful times in part 1 of the game. But that's just me. But that's just my opinion. Sry for a long comment

( I only completed edelgards story, so i cant say much about the other storylines. ) But what about "Cross my heart , Making vows I know will be betrayed. A sad girl’s pleas, Live only for a breath and then they fade"? This does not sound like Byleth. This (and many more phrases) sound like edelgard. I would think that this song is not about either one, but both. The former quote is edelgard, while "Reach for my hand . I’ll soar away Into the dawn. Oh, I wish I could stay" could be Byleth's fear, to be consumed my the sword, like Nemesis was. "Here in cherished halls , In peacful days, I fear the edge of dawn, Knowing time betrays" could be about the fact, that Byleth was asleep for 5 whole years. The flow of time betrayed him, stealing time he could've used to lead the army and shorten the war. "Only we will know , All that was lost. Scars that we can’t erase, Show us life’s true cost" again is Edelgard. As the leader of an army she knows that she is sacrificing more than a handfull of lives.

The weapons that each of them uses fit perfectly with their characters Edelgard with the axe represents her fierceness, willing to kill, and bloodthirst, as she is willing to start the wars Claude with his bow represents a straightforward path, he knows what he wants, and id going in one direction Dimitri's spear represents his directness and honor, as shown where he stands up for the empire in every way.
you have to set the language to japanese, then play the final chapter of a route that this plays on again and let the credits roll once more. Then you'll unlock both the japanese and english version of this song.
i followed elderguard first playthrough and ohboy it was sad, i thought it just normal rts game but damn i never feel pain that much before, killing your student one by one is fk up

These are the credits, u should get that when u completed any of the 3 houses
