I bought a ktm 250 sx in the spring and I just picked up my 300 sx efi.. I got to ride it for about 45 min and now we have snow :( So far I love it but I'm looking forward to riding both back to back.
It definitely pulls harder than the 250 but still very easy to ride. Can't wait to get more time on it.
I'm actually thinking of making a you tube video to compare both bikes..
I'm thinking some people would want to see that comparison.

As always great work Michael! Looking forward to the lap time analysis (both fastest laps and average laps) - will be fun to see how the 300 stacks up against the 350/450SXF's. Also this all new chassis feels very different (in a good way) with a 300 2-stroke mounted inside vs the 350/450SXF engines - have the riders give some feedback on the chassis feel between the 2-stroke/4-strokes. Looking forward to the video!

It's so odd to hear someone so smart with dirt bike (Race Tech) "it's surprising to see the two stroke being better in the torque curve and power curve." When there's not a stupid handicap, cc for cc the two stroke will out perform the four stroke every time.

It's a myth that dynos read differently unless they aren't calibrated properly (junk) or when the operator makes bogus correction factor numbers. the last thing I want from my 2 stroke is to be like a 4 stroke. i don't understand this type of thinking.
people say the cost of 4 strokes ruined MX
people say the power of strokes ruined MX
people say the weight of 4 strokes ruined MX
if 4 strokes have "ruined" this sport (especially SX), it's for one reason only. Traction.
I've been say this for 20 years: more traction = less fun
2 stroke = least traction = most fun
4 stroke = more traction = less fun
electric = most traction = least fun
this is the difference. this is why racing isn't as exited and this is the reason electric is going to be even less exiting.... for no other reason..
the whole entire essence of "off-road" racing is that it takes place on loose, less predictable terrain, as opposed to road racing and it's consistant traction.

From a lifetime 2-stroke specialist-There is so much more to be gained from a a 2S that can get the power to the ground in a predictable way. You may think it is not 2-stroke enough but you forget all the other great aspects of feel and lightness and flickability. A snappy but not light switch power will only improve all of these already superior features. 4S are boring to me but I’m pretty sure my new 300 won’t be when i get it. Think about the whole package.
