    Hello, I eat healthier than anyone I know or work with personally but still break out on my back and shoulders when I have a little bit of Greek yogurt. Meanwhile people I am around at work eat shit ie. pizza pops and sandwiches with hardly any veggies on their daily menu, not taking a single supplement yet they have clearer skin. Awesome right?

    I've heard that you're supposed to take probiotics 15 minutes before your meal, do you think it makes a difference ?

  • @atlasprdx
    @atlasprdx 4 года назад +1

    I don't even know if someone will read this but I'm desperate at this point. I've been a very thin person for almost my entire life and I usually eat way less than a thousand calories a day, so I decided to change that. I got an app to check my calories and ended up gaining weigh after a week. Problem is: I found the wonderful world of nuts. Those and whole grain contained so many calories that I could eat in one sitting so I started eating those in huge amounts night and day after a life of barely touching them at all. Not surprisingly, I got sick after a week of ingesting twice the calories I'm used to (over 2000 a day) and nuts all the time. Now even if a week has passed and I stopped my crazy diet, my stomach doesn't seem to be able to take vegetables, fruits or any type of "raw food", I have to cook everything and still I feel bad most of my digestions and go to the bathroom way to much. I keep hearing fibre is good and still it seems to have killed all of my probiotics or something and they don't seem to work anymore, I'm scared I fucked up my stomach basically and I have no idea how to get it back to normal. Does anyone know anything that could help?

    If I could interject.
    Probiotics are more efficacious when taken with fibre. If taken in the morning before a smoothie or bowl of oats with chia seeds, flax and or hemp those probiotics will do extra extra wonders. ❤️😊

    Okay so do you take a probiotic supplement everyday for the rest of your life? Is there a point in time where you have reached your internal bacteria balance and you no longer need to supplement?

    • @fashionmwah
      @fashionmwah 5 лет назад +2

      I have the same question as well. I do know that the Glow product she mentioned also has antioxidants. It’s more than just a product full of “good bacteria”. Plus, the products are supposed to maintain balance. Bacteria die everyday anyway. I’m guessing that the science in between allows people to use it everyday for a long time.

    • @RichesInGlory91
      @RichesInGlory91 5 лет назад +3

      Probiotic Supplements don’t create good bacteria but add the good bacteria into your gut. To help your body create more good bacteria, avoid unhealthy food, increase raw food like veggies (avoid pesticides). Have culture forming foods like keifer, kombucha, kimchi and sauerkraut. It will take time.

    • @veronicavance8171
      @veronicavance8171 5 лет назад +2

      i mean really you should try to do it as long as you can, because it supports all your systems. your liver your gut your intensines everything. which determines how you look and feel everyday. The human body isn’t designed perfect enough especially in our world of junk food/fast food, preservatives, additives, etc to maintain balance on its own for a long time

    The Beauty Chef does not ship internationally and I am wondering if you could recommend a similar probiotic (or what to look for in a probiotic) that would be available to Ireland/the UK?
    I tried to shop for a probiotic today but I found it overwhelming so I ran home!

    Hi Shelby,
    What kind of acne did you have? I am recently experiencing acne at the age of 40 I've never in my life experienced before. I am 2 months into eliminating sugar, dairy and wheat from my diet and not seeing the improvement back to my normal skin complexion. I am intrigued in getting on a probtiotic as my next step. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

    • @shelbyondrus
      @shelbyondrus  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Melissa! I struggled with hormonal acne mainly on my chin and cheeks, but basically all over my face and back; it was a blend of cystic and persistent acne (not fun at all). It was what led me to start my skin care line in which I had huge improvement with my blemishes and scars, and I also became a nutritionist and started incorporating certain foods and supplements into my life! One such supplement was probiotics. I would really recommend you trying them out, they work wonders as they are the foundation to a healthy body and skin. Hope this helps 😘

    Taking actual probiotics will help, drinking Gts kombucha will do nothing. There have been scientific case studies that show those drinks dont do what probiotics do even when you drink them consistently. They're still the healthier choice over soda though.

      To save money, I buy the gut shots at my co op, they have 110 cfu per serving and i take about half a serving daily. $5 for 20 days taken like that- explore other aisles besides the probiotic aisle! Also, apple cidar vinegar with the mother and sauerkraut serve as natural probiotics too. There's also kambucha. I've found my skin clear up taking these things daily. :)

  • @QZoe

    Hi, I first off I want to say thank you for making this video very simple and easy to follow I have a question regarding the fermented powder is it okay if I add like turmeric or Moringa powder to the water? Also I have been dealing with acne since 9 I’m 20 now but it’s never been this terrible I have cystic acne in addition my menstrual pain wise has gotten so severe I dread having it monthly now I know something is wrong but I can’t put my finger on it I have set up a dermatologist appointment because I am at my wits end however I want to care of me internally and wanted to know would this be a problem?

    • @shelbyondrus
      @shelbyondrus  6 лет назад +1

      stephanie paul Hi love, yes you can definitely add both turmeric and moringa! I completely feel your pain as I had a very similar situation- acne from 12 and very painful periods + cystic acne erupting around my cycle. What really helped me was a combination of things, but cutting out dairy and wheat made a big difference! I do another video on the supplements I take, and probiotics + iodine supplementation changed my life! I also formulated a skin care routine for all skin types but specifically acne prone skin, the Daily Essentials Set, and it cleared up my acne and scarring ( lessened the painful cystic acne and reduced my breakout frequency and severity.) You can find it on my website www.shelbynaturals.com. :) My products contain a combination of high antioxidant oils that not only reduce redness and inflammation but help to clear up breakouts. It’s so important to read your product labels because there are toxic ingredients in a lot of skin care and makeup products that actually cause acne and aging! That’s what motivated me to move to a more holistic, clean and healthy lifestyle and formulate my line. Let me know if you have any other questions, I’d love to help. Xx, S

      does it work with fungal infections in the body

    • @shelbyondrus
      @shelbyondrus  6 лет назад +1

      kimberley puddicombe Yes! It will really help with fungal or yeast infections/overgrowth. I would also recommend going on a cleanse at the same time to get rid and detox the bad bacteria!

    What's your opinion about the sugar in Kombucha and it's effects?

    • @shelbyondrus
      @shelbyondrus  6 лет назад +4

      Good question! The sugar levels in kombucha are super minimal, as through the process of fermentation, the good bacteria consumes most of the added sugar in the tea. So I personally think the effects of the sugar are so, so small compared to the benefit of consuming the good bacteria and all the nutrients contained in the kombucha! There are also different kinds of kombucha you can buy (some sweeter than others as they have added fruit juices), so I personally reach for an unflavoured, original kombucha or ginger as the sugar levels are substantially lower without the added fruit juices. Hope this helps!

      Try the KeVita brand. Made with coconut water and not black tea.
      With fermented drinks you really should be watching the sodium intake.
      Should just be a once in a while treat.
