Happy Easter everyone! Just popping out to make the most of the beautiful weather & will respond to comments later on. Thank you to everyone who pointed out that the moorhen chicks are in fact coots! I guess that is where the saying "bald as a coot" comes from. I am in love with those coot chicks. Have a lovely weekend. Nicola xx
Happy Easter! I would love to learn more about the ceramic egg artist. If you have already done a video about it, please post your link. There is a similar event done in Oregon where a glass artist leaves a bunch of colorful 'fishing weights' along the beach for collectors. They are quite valuable now and hard to find.
These videos are an absolute treasure - and not only because you find treasure! They are a great escape and stress reliever. What’s more: they’re educational and informative!
Greetings from Clay co. Missouri USA! Fair weather Good finds GREAT Company Excellent time! Thanks for letting me tag along!! Good on you NN (Michael) That's exactly what I was thinking @13:56. Comes around; goes around I think I'd have to leave the eggs whole. Humpty Dumpty and all. But that's just me. They're yours; Do what you like. Thanks again! Best of luck & Happy Hunting!
The music while you’re on the river in the beginning of the video sounds like it could be from Downton Abbey...oh how I miss that show! Now back to the video:) so excited for this one!!😁
Don't break open the pottery eggs. Inside is clay marbles made at the same time. I saw them make them in pottery class when I was making my oven ware and miniature ware for a doll house I had, My daughter now has the house and everything that was in it. We did a lot of experimental pottery in our fourth year and that is why I know about the clay marbles. Junk stuff really. LOL Susann
The pipe bowl is Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, which would put it at 1902 at the earliest. Well Done! I have an exceptionally horrid looking moustache cup from their coronation
Hello nicola, I'd just like to thank you for your video channel as it must take alot of time and effort. I particularly enjoy you passion in finding the personal history behind the finds.
We lived in Beirut for a few years. My mom would study the wave patterns, wait for a huge storm blowing east and go down to the shore right after. She found Roman coins, an oil lamp and beads and now...I have them! So fun
OMG I haven't even started and I know I'll love it. Just getting the dinner on so you can be my evening entertainment while I eat. I hardly ever use my TV now, just to watch videos. RUclips content is so much better than the muck the commercial channels dish out, at least in Australia anyway.
Hi ya Cherryblossum Plumtree!! OMGoodness I couldn't agree with you more!! And although nothings perfect RUclips still has real people creating real content anyway, riiiight?? Happiest New Year to you + yours from me + mine in Toronto, Ontario, Canada!
Wonderful video! What a joy to see all my favorite larkers working together. I swear, it would be so awesome to see a show where you all travel the worlds beaches and shores, finding crazy old things to show us. Youre all so cute and have some great chemistry goin' on. Keep on muckin', my friends
I had a very emotional reaction to the music. I suddenly thought of all the people who had passed that river point, throughout time, and how all their eyes had seen different views of London. Some lonesome, some going home, some bored with work, some thrilled by adventure. Some straining for new experiences, some weary from a life of struggle. All passing the foreshore, riding the eternal flow of tides. ⛵📖♥️
Oh my, your photos along the Thames were so different and beautiful. My favorite part was your pottery heart. Lovely Nic, truly lovely and one of your best videos. Thanks for taking us along.
I'm American but most of my ancestors are English, and I love seeing the history you uncover, i feel a bit closer to them clear across the ocean. So interesting! if i'm ever able to come visit, I would pay someone to take me mudlarking lol
A great bunch of friends having a nice time...you can tell how long it has been scince I visited Old Smokey...I have no idea what the comedy building behind Tower Bridge is at all..lol..big splash at 21:38...I think the egg contains more if you leave it as it is...a prezzy and a dream...nice one Nic, Sci, Nugg & Bill.
What great finds. Wow, pasties with names! Quite a bit of talent and patience Nic. Now we want the history and recipe from your Grandma. Happy Easter to you and yours. Blessings
Happy Easter Nicola. Love you video was great to see London from the rivers perspective. haven't visited London for 25 yrs so great to see how much it has changed. Your Cornish pasties looked delicious, would love the recipe.
Nicola thanks a lot. Please cray the egg. Love love this channel. Also follow the others especially Michael for years. Knowing Nugget Noggin I knew he would give you that bell. Just like him. Happy Easter. God bless you from Ontario Canada
I have to admit that I'm living vicariously through your videos. There's a treasure hunter's heart beating inside of me that would love to be able to mudlark. Love your videos!
Imagine if you could train the coots to pick all the stuff up that you cannot reach ☺ I love this woman and her videos I could listen to that voice all day long and she's gorgeous. Great video as always 👍👍
Hi Nicola, it's me your mud sister. As I watch your Mud Crew I am so jealous that you can explore and find things of such historical importance. I LOVE seeing what you find. The only entertainment we have out here in the Mojave Desert of California is exploring with my local friends and finding 2000 dumped tires. Of course cleaning the desert is a good thing. We find dumped jacuzzi's, boats, refrigerators, kitchen cabinets, shoes, and drywall and everything else you can imagine. I'm more interested in the small stuff. At least we don't need a metal detector to find what we're finding. But, again, thank you for your wonderful, serene videos. You know I'll be back. Margaret :-)
look further, the mojave is rich with things if you know where to look. look at the roads all over the desert that no one has ever lived on in the middle of nowhere. there was a huge civilization there
Have I ever told you how much I love your videos? Just loved it! It was good to see Nugget noggin' there with you and so sweet of him to leave you with the crotel bell. He really cleaned up out there didn't he? The heart was sweet, your art is beautiful! Thanks, Happy Easter!!
I love those duck's feet! They are like big white maple leaves. They take such loving care of their little ones. That was so sweet. What a fun day of finds. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Loved the video as ever, always happy to see one of yours pop up :) Great to see the Mud Crew and their finds. The chicks were gorgeous but you still haven't seen Moorhen chicks because those were Coots! My vote goes to Edward and Alexandra on the pipe bowl and don't open the egg :)
Ooo an MP butter knife. You better be careful are you could get into a spot of trouble it could turn out to be a slippery situation if you get busted for holding police property. Slip it in some else's pocket on the way out just incase then collect it when your safely home. Wink!
Nicola, I was thinking what a great project to take the broken toothpaste lids you find and make a tooth out of them. You can use my idea. Love your videos.
I think a knit hat with a Seal (marine mammal) logo and "The Lady Lark of London" embossed would be a good way to start. She started with a video showing a baby seal..... I wonder what "fish paste" was???? Cheap 'garum' maybe, or a 'pate'?
Another interesting video. Many people confuse coots and moorhens. I wouldn't break that rattling Easter Egg,it would be a shame to damage it just to discover it was filled with pebbles or something similar!
So gorgeous....love your vids Nicola. You're full of charm and as a big fan of Nugget, it surprises me not at all that he gave you that bell. He's a gentleman and a beautiful person.
Hi, I just stopped to see if I'd seen this video, and I have...Lmao, you said "...I haven't got my detector, actually I don't have a detector. That's why I haven't got it". OMG I laughed so hard. I wonder how many Nicolaisms I've missed.
Thank you for posting your part of the Nugget Noggin adventure . I love Nugget Noggin don't you? I watched his posts when he was just a kid. Surprise! Loved seeing Si without his cap. I long for your posts every week. Soothing, history, adventure, wildlife, music, laughs, art, insights, finds, trash pickup, scavenging..... so many of my favorite things.
Hope you had a lovely Easter Nicola, made me smile seeing the Tower of London behind Tower Bridge because I was working there the weekend. Thank you for sharing your finds -looks like all of you had fun! Love the ceramic pottery heart I want to do something like that, what an inspiration! The Coot baby chicks were beautiful! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Well Happy Easter, I saw most of this yesterday, so Happy 4/20 too! Nice Hoodie Si! Lovely video as always Nicola. I need to watch all 4 of your videos of this trip. I imagine your brand might have a heart, anchor and a clay pipe or two...just an idea. I'm sure you'll create something fitting. Chill Bill I saw your video 1st, I''ll check for Si's and Nugget Noggin's...looks like you all had a blast with Bill's new foreshore hot spot...after Nugget found all those musketballs I think I'll always think of musketballs now as Nugget Balls! Just kidding, I watch Nuggets videos too and he's now a real Mud Lover and Mudlarker now. It was nice to see him give you the Crotal bell and Si gave him a silver coin. Very kool group of friends. Y'all are so busy keeping us entertained, I can tell by all the comments that we all appreciate it. Yup they're Coots alright, never saw the chicks before...kool hairdo! Have a nice day...I'm off to eat some bunny ears...
Very nice video. Many of my American friends (diggers) came over to search for treasures. Thank you Chill Bill & Nicola for hosting my friend Nugget who is a very accomplished detectorist in the US. Nice finds from all. Crotal bell in the Thames amazing & the chicks were adorable. Cheers
King edward and queen alexander. Nugget's stone with a hole, the hole was made by a piddock, which is a type of shellfish. They grind their shell into the stone and stay in there feeding from the water.

Wonderful finds! It looks like you had a great time! ☺ Luv you video will keep watching for more!!!
You had a great day! Super finds.I loved the landing craft that took you to the beach.
Those birds' feet are just ...weirdly adorable.
the chicks were priceless! TY
Oh those pasties looked real nice👍
Hi nic great vid as usual, get Si to cut the egg open and put a hinge on it,art remains and you get the pennies out lol
you could almost say those moorhen chicks are coot :o)
Love the egg keep it as is
Don't break open the pottery eggs. Inside is clay marbles made at the same time. You should do a live stream and just point your camera to the ground and have us look for you! 😁
OP 1000 : Great idea !
I would try to have it x rayed... ( the ceramic Easter egg)
Is Nugget not the cutest damn southern boy?! What a sweetheart. I love his videos because everything excites him, he's just a joyous guy.
We lived in Beirut for a few years. My mom would study the wave patterns, wait for a huge storm blowing east and go down to the shore right after. She found Roman coins, an oil lamp and beads and now...I have them! So fun
Nugget's smile could brighten any room
I have found the you tubers I really enjoy are the ones who have such honest enthusiasm for what they do. Nugget is definitely one of them.
OMG I haven't even started and I know I'll love it. Just getting the dinner on so you can be my evening entertainment while I eat. I hardly ever use my TV now, just to watch videos. RUclips content is so much better than the muck the commercial channels dish out, at least in Australia anyway.

Great video.
In case you're interested, the birds at the end are actually Coots, not Moorhens. (similar looking birds)
Nicola, what is that beautiful music as you were coming in on the river????? Love your video and your music choices are prime.
Sounds a bit like a variation on the Downton Abbey theme... Sorry if i am totally mistaken.
clockwork erw : I thought the same. It’s very similar.
It sounds very Michael Nyman..
The music is The English Affair by Howard Harper-Barnes: ruclips.net/video/rLjDfNrVzMY/видео.html

Great to see Nuggetnoggin in UK. Love his channel and have been following him about 3 yrs now. Love watching him hunt.
The royalty of mudlarking all together in one video!
Your channel is just...so soothing and calming. You all look like you are really enjoying yourselves, and each other. Love this. 👍☀️👍
Nicola Dont breack that egg, please. Is so wonderfull to keep the enigma.
Oh!!!! PS..... don’t break open the egg! And loved the footage of the birds/ chicks
Sooo sweet!!!😊
Nuggetnoggin is one of my favorites here in America, so full of energy and down to earth, I am happy to see him get these opportunities.
Unbroken the ceramic egg holds mystery and promise. Break it and you break its spell. Or, it could contain a handful of uncut diamonds. X-ray?
Marvelous video Nic. Isn't nugget a sweetheart?
He is sooo smiley !
It was a double take for me when I saw him because I do watch some of his videos. He has a sweet demeanor.
He's so polite and happy
The Coots will be railing at you for calling them Moorhens.
Yes, moorhens have a red colouring to the beak, and coots the white.

So much fun to see all of the different experiences of the group !

Oh, my goodness, I didn't wait until the very end to see this WONDERFUL footage of mom and dad feeding their baby chicks. It's incredible!!!!!!
Dare I say there were 6 chicks in this episode ? 5 moorhens & a NicChic. Don't open the egg :)
I have to admit that I'm living vicariously through your videos. There's a treasure hunter's heart beating inside of me that would love to be able to mudlark. Love your videos!
Thank you for sharing such a fun excursion. (Simon Bourne rocks!)
The rattle in the egg might be ceramic but it might be metal. Use a metal detector to find out. Don't break the egg (I'm sure you wouldn't anyway).
Imagine if you could train the coots to pick all the stuff up that you cannot reach ☺ I love this woman and her videos I could listen to that voice all day long and she's gorgeous. Great video as always 👍👍
Great video as usual Nicola but I have to say the back ground music choices were awesome!
Do all the bits of china you find have such beautiful quaint pictures? Or is it all in the way you present them to the camera?
Hi Nicola, it's me your mud sister. As I watch your Mud Crew I am so jealous that you can explore and find things of such historical importance. I LOVE seeing what you find. AmericanPatriot 1776 you could leave out the virtue signaling part and it would be a better comment.

Those pasties looked amazing!
Those pasties do look amazing but shouldn't Nicola being a Cornish girl put the crust on the side and not the top? 😉
Nicola, I was thinking what a great project to take the broken toothpaste lids you find and make a tooth out of them. You can use my idea. Love your videos.
So wonderful to see all my favs in one video Happy Easter
Awesome hunt! Happy Easter!! 🐰🐇🐰🐇🥚🥚🥚

Now I'm gonna watch the rest of the video!
King Edward and the king's consort Princess Alexandria.

Hi Nicola! First here! Wonderful job as usual, my dear friend!
Great Easter adventure with the crew! You could have one of your art fish as your t-shirt/hat symbol? thanks.
I think a knit hat with a Seal (marine mammal)
logo and "The Lady Lark of London" embossed would be a good way to start. She started with a video showing a baby seal..... I wonder what "fish paste" was???? Cheap 'garum' maybe, or a 'pate'?
@just Dustin O: maybe anchovy paste?
Happy Easter...Those eggs are cool as can be... NN is just another sucker for a beautiful blonde...😁😁

Need to send you kudos even before I watch the video! Will send even more when I'm done! :-)
Oh I absolutely love the moorhens feet when they're under the water. Thanks so much for sharing. I hope you had a lovely Easter. Don't crack the egg!
Loved the music as you were cruising up the Thames. It gave me goosebumps probably because I was imagining myself there with you.
Get it x-rayed.🙂🤗
get it xrayed thanks for sharing !!! :
An X-ray is exactly what I was thinking! Hopefully the object inside would show up on an X-ray. I wonder if a CAT scan or MRI would work if an X-ray didn't?
