if you are doing this, considering spending your time conquering Ethiopea instead of Tunis. Whatever that one mission for Ethiopa that lets you have Cawa units will be a nice mix with this because you could have 0 standing army troops, as long as you have enough mil points you can print a free army with them on the day the Ottomans declare war on you. A Cawa unit costs only 2 mil points and spawns 500 guys. So to get a regular regiment you need 4 mil points.
Maybe, but I saved up a lot of Mil points for taking the Techs in time so idk if there is to much left for that then... also conquering Ethiopia might cost a lot of Manpower and Time because of their Terrain
What a nice find! I just did it and it worked exactly as you described. It’s important not to conquer Byz or any beyliks because the Ottoman will attack them and drag you into a useless war. I made this mistake first :) In my peace deal, I surrounded the Ottoman so no one could attack them, then released Byz to reconquer. For anyone trying it, the rebels WLL spawn all over the map, unless you vassal feed, and they’ll progress FAST. I had so many rebels Bolgaria declared independence and both the nobles and peasants enforced their demands on me :)
@@strategystuff5080 very true. I once reduced myself to a tribal OPM as Aztecs by the mid- or late-1500s. Still did a WC (Mayan religion, tribal province war score reductions, Celestial Empire).
Every time I've tried it so far, I got declared on by Castile/Portugal (when I expanded to the maghreb). When I didn't expand so far, then Ottomans declared a regular conquest war on my vassal opm Syria......................................................
I am making a Mzab WC and this gives me a devilish idea. I have most of the Mamluks lands around 1530 and I can flip Iqta to form Mamluks myself. My ottoman ally will take Syria and gain the CB on me. With 40% WSC from my monuments and diplo ideas, I could probably take so much Ottoman land in one war, much more than in this video. Thank you for this gem
interesting strategy. but honestly if you just conquer all the beyliks before the ottomans, then war with the ottomans, then take byzantium/epirus and then another war with the ottomans you will have about the same amount of lands, maybe a little less but nothing crazy. without mentioning that it's probably just easier to fight the Ottomans from the start before they eat the beyliks and form an empire, because they become stronger after 30 years and you not so much
I felt like it was a lot easier this way because I could build up my economy to the sky in these 30 years as I had to fight no wars against the Ottos which always costs a lot of resources and I had to do that only once and only after I had a great economy and better Unit types (so that Anatolian Tech isn't that much of an advantage anymore)
Would you mind doing a video about the math of trible government and settling cost? Since I still don't understand why noone even things about saying native instead of reforming. As far as I know, you can get 9 dev for 50 of each mana regardless of its terrain and current dev. And the amount of trible government growth is only capt by the amount of provinces. This could in theory mean to be able to get 33 trible dev each month if you did a wc.
I think it's because since they started using AI to categorize games they only know of "Europa Universalis IV: Ultimate Bundle" and the actual closest text match on record to EUIV is well, EU1
Just a heads up to help this trick for other players for how not to screw it up. I diplo vassalized Ramazan, and when the treaty was up, The Turks dec’d on Ramazan as a conquest war, dragging me in. Do NOT diplo vassalize any other Turkic beylik in the region. Have them dow you directly.
Also, to prevent the Turks from declaring a conquest cb on Syria, I just dumped prestige to making them loyal before the first war, stole Aleppo from them, then just gave away the desired provinces to the Ottomans as seen here. So, I then directly owned Aleppo, no disloyal Syria, and +1 diplo slot. Yea, its a shame not having the lvl 3 fort, but, imo, it is a LOT safer to not have ANY vassal in region to make this 100% work. Great strat, 10/10 post minor fixes.
@@thestudentYT yes, absolutely. 100%. Only I got the Mamluks to be at 100% influence. So, I was at a constant state of war preventing them from firing the Coup. @@thestudentYT Hey, sorry, not sure if you re-read your comments from past videos, but I must say, this is a great opener. cool strat, though I don't know if its worthwhile waiting for the otto to attack you while you sit and don't expand. also, what's your opinion on a great horde to republic russia? early to can raze and use horde units, once you are ready to become republic you switch to orthodox and get eastern tech when you become republic (or monarchy) and after clicking form russia decision you get russian missions. You basically have an insane early game, no problems with mana, can curbstomp poland ottos persia sweeden before they become a threatening force, access to horde cb etc and once you do republic russia, you funnel asia trade to novgorod. would this be worth doing in a mp?
