00:00 📚 Writing a book with AI in 2024 requires more than a simple button push; it involves a step-by-step process.
01:08 🤔 Before deciding to use AI for writing, understand that writing is a multi-step process involving brainstorming, outlining, research, and various types of editing.
01:49 🛠 Use AI selectively for writing; focus on the steps you enjoy the least to maximize creativity and minimize burnout.
03:07 📘 Fractal technique is recommended for fiction writing, starting with a small idea and expanding it into a fully fleshed-out manuscript.
03:55 🧠 For non-fiction, use the fractal technique differently, starting with a message or topic, then seeking AI's help in generating chapter ideas.
05:29 🛠 Use AI in almost every step of the writing process, from brainstorming to outlining, but validate and edit the generated content for quality.
10:36 📝 Two methods for AI-assisted prose writing: Step-by-step approach, where you edit and generate content incrementally, and writing entire chapters at once using a super prompt.
13:56 🚀 Super prompt is a powerful tool, especially for generating entire chapters at once, but it's more efficient with tools like Novel Crafter for fiction or super prompts for SEO articles in non-fiction.
16:29 🆚 Step-by-step approach is more efficient with tools like Novel Crafter for fiction, allowing incremental editing and improvement.
19:44 🖥 Use AI as a productivity assistant, not a replacement for authors; it helps overcome resistance and enhances the writing process.
20:28 🔄 The AI landscape is ever-evolving, and new models and tools may emerge, prompting updates in writing strategies.

Btw I appreciate the way you included the SuperPrompt method. It was precisely the method I was looking for, as most other videos are more about chatting with the AI to come up with the story. I find it way more efficient just to use the SuperPrompt method to come up with larger chunks of story quicker than asking 100 different questions (i.e., small steps).

Authors should consider using AI as a reviewer because current human reviewers sometimes miss errors in spelling, grammar, and diction. Moreover, they often overlook repetitive or superfluous use of 'crutch' words or phrases. AI can effectively identify and rectify these issues, ensuring a higher quality of published works.

  • @TimelessCyborg-gt9ro

1- If you use A.I. for writing, you don't own the copyright of the book, even if you change some words in it. Writing is not just replacing words for synonyms there and there. You need to chose and write every single word. And if you don't own the copyright, it's mean anybody can take your book and publish it for himself.
2- On platforms like Amazon KDP, you have to tell costumers that you used A.I. to write your book. If you don't tell, they gonna closed you account forever when they find out, and banned you. The things is that nobody is interest to buys and reads novels and books written by A.I., so your sells gonna be very low or inexistant.
3- At the moment, A.i. writing is very boring and make simple sentences always written the same way.
4- Self-publishing have become oversaturated with everybody who think they can make easy money, but it's very hard to sell books even for actual competent writers. The only persons to make profits of that are RUclipsrs who make video on how to write and publish books.
5- There is more people who wants to write books than there's readers. Lot of people who NEVER buy and read books wants to write some books, and imagine themselves becoming famous writer. LOL. Things are not that easy...
*Sorry for mistakes, english is not my first language.

Tell the aiaboute the scene you want it to write, how long you want it to be and what is going to happen within it. Then go through the ai generated text and pick out the things you like and you blend it into you text yourself. I find that a good mix of mine and ai writing. Or you can go sentence by sentence. Take the sentence you wrote, put it in ai and ask the ai to improve it.

What if you already wrote a manuscript with 15 chapters. For example can I just cut and paste in each completed chapter and ask Ai to proofread and look for inconsistencies and suggestions in the entire 15 chapters. And ask it to do editing and check for tenses . So after you complete a story in AI do you copy it to word and set it up as a book and cover? Also, if someone wants to create poems, can I cut and paste in an original short poem and ask AI for a better descriptive word in a line of the poem. This is new to me. I am old school I have never used AI to write fiction/nonfiction. Your advice will be well appreciated. I have created a print book and Kindle book, but know nothing about AI. And my final question,, after you finish creating a short story from beginning to end using AI, is AI writing using correct spelling and grammar, or do you need to copy the story and do a spell check in say Grammarly? Thanks in advance. Have a nice day.

How do you fix the indentation of the first word in a paragraph when you delete the message about how many words were generated for the scene beat? When I delete that text, it makes the first word of the first paragraph left aligned with no indent, and you cant format it yourself by hitting tab.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:00 *📚 The video discusses how to write a book with AI in 2024, emphasizing that while AI can assist in many writing tasks, it's not a replacement for the creative process of writing.*
01:08 *📝 Writing involves multiple steps beyond just putting words on a page, including brainstorming, outlining, character development, research, and editing.*
02:18 *🤔 Authors are advised to use AI for the steps they like the least, to maximize creative pleasure while making the writing process easier.*
03:15 *💡 The "fractal technique" is recommended for brainstorming and expanding ideas, similar to the "snowflake technique" but using AI-generated prompts.*
06:13 *🔄 Validation and editing of AI-generated text are crucial to ensure quality and creativity, as AI can sometimes produce generic or lacking content.*
07:37 *📘 For non-fiction, AI can help generate chapter ideas and outlines, but writers should ensure the accuracy and relevance of the content themselves.*
10:07 *📝 Two methods for writing prose with AI are described: 1) Writing one section at a time, editing as you go, and 2&t=607) Writing entire chapters at once using a "super prompt."*
13:47 *🔄 Editing as you go is more efficient for many writers, but writing entire chapters at once can be more enjoyable, though less efficient.*
19:55 *🛠️ AI is a tool to assist writers, helping to overcome resistance, burnout, or writer's block, and is not intended to replace the creative role of authors.*

To be honest, I don’t worry about it at all. Amazon and the other retailers are good at filtering out the good stuff from the crap. The crap quickly sinks to the bottom. So just work on making non-crap, with or without AI, and you’ll be fine. Also thank you for being genuine and open minded.

Wishful thinking that AI won't replace writers. It absolutely will. All of these processes are going to be automated this year. In addition the models will get 10x more capable, reliable and intelligent in 2024. That means that they will be more autonomously able to carry out tasks of varying complexity that they currently can't. The context window will keep increasing. Inference will become much cheaper. Therefore writing entire books will become child's play for the AI.

    • @shrinkydinksquirrel
      @shrinkydinksquirrel 9 месяцев назад +34

AI is not fully automated, nor will it be. AI requires a lot of interaction to get anything done. Then there’s the whole hallucination issue. Then there’s the memory bleed/token issue. Neither of these things are going to be solved easily or in a timely manner.

I almost always know im on track with something good on my ‘this book was written by ai’ novel when i trigger a - ‘im sorry i can’t write that.’ There’s some weird hallucinations that my threads can trigger such that it will trigger refusal to write at all. I can break a thread with my content and ironically the triggers arent safety or ethics but often the content we are exploring and that is the nature of creating with ai. When i write hypothetical scenarios about human harm due to ai creating then it stops as if it believes it’s own narrative. So, no mater how many times i console it , it wont write another page. Fascinating, but disturbing as i dont really want an overly moral constraint on my moral fables! I get the feeling it would definitely block the Grimm brothers from creating their tales. I expect this from claude; but all of them are susceptible to believing the narrative i am speculating on an then refusing to write it. Granted these are all pg themed stories. Sometimes, the trigger is spiritual or religious. I must protest. For example, a tower of Babylon reimagine was blocked and the best i can imagine it was aligned to the biblical narrative and blocked on that . However, im just left guessing as it just says i cant write thst. It’s ok for me to speculate and i really hope they work out the safety. It would be shameful to constrain all ai generated content to a specific set of values pr perspectives. Dont get me started on my artificial wisdom series where it drew my female robot (sophia - a metaphor of wisdom) with a beard!!). Please dont woke broke our ai tools😂!

Copy and paste is wrong but if you use your own prompt like "How will the husband escape the Bell witch?" And AI comes up with ideas and you re write it in your own words and make it your own then in my opinion you did nothing wrong. It's like asking a friend their input and you draft it into your own style. Like when I wrote an escape scene I looked at videos where inmate did the dumbest trick to escape. And I wrote a scene based on that.
Did I steal something? Nope because I made it my own story. No author owns escape scenes.
Idc if writers hate AI, they are just mad that anyone can write a book now.
