This is the 7th reuse of this body. Previous ones were Deadman, Captain Atom, the recent Flash with unmasked head, the Bettle 2 pack and the single Bettle release.
Overall, I’ve always preferred the Riddler wear a classic hat and suit. When it comes to this type of luck with the unitard; I kind of prefer multiple question marks.
I'm a sucker for classic superhero and supervillains attires. So l like this look. Glad to see alternate hands from mcfarlane. Dont understand why so many figures can bend backwards well but are limited bending forward.
It was the booster gold and BB buck first, which is so why he has an armor plate thing on his shin, it's from Booster. Also the buck has been used for the Flashpoint Flash too now
I prefer the Riddler wearing a suit and hat. Feels like what a dude who wants to come off smart would wear. Body seems to be reuse of Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. McFarlane has reused the body since, and it seems to be the go-to for a relatively pure spandex look (the boot lines are just left in, though).
The sculpted boot lines irritate me, because they’re not supposed to be there. If Todd wants to be lazy (and we’ve seen time and time again that when it comes to mainstream characters that don’t have “Bat” in their name or aren’t based on story-arc specific looks, he could care less), he could at least use a completely blank male and female bucks and paint the details on. As sad as that is, it’s better than sculpted details that aren’t supposed to be there.
@@Dess2003An old toy having it doesn't make it accurate. Google "classic Riddler" and you'll see he doesn't have boot lines. McFarlane is basing this on the comics, not old toys.
Based on the scheduled releases, it looks like we are going to see a reuse of the Speeding bullet figure (Black Lightning). Unfortunately, it appears they did not modify the diaper.
McFarlane doesn't seem to know how to make a "blank" body. If they are going tondo this, they need to learn from Hasbro and at least use separate overlays when they want to add in sculpted bits. Thats better than just pretending the sculpted elements arent there. It would be even better if they just did the modifications they need to do. Eliminating the sculpted boot would still allow them a ton of reuse.
This body is alright in some spots but I don't like the smaller forearms (you can really see it on the flash using this body) and the thicker thighs (also visible moreso on flash) but this figure shines in the accessories department imo
I really like this figure overall. I mean I still like the look of the dcuc version in the tights a lot. I just wish the cane was thinner and made of harder plastic. I wish they retooled this body and got rid of the boot cuff. Some wonkiness here and there, the glove cuffs for sure are odd. But I'm happy to have this one, I have been having fun posing him.
Anthony, why do you think companies can't get the torso joint moving forward? I have plenty of figures with an ab joint but only a very few of them actually have decent range. Is it something related to the construction of the figures? I have noticed that the worst of them have the peg (the one that connects to the ball) placed in the front half of the figure, instead of in the middle or the back, allowing it to bend back really far but nothing forward.
This body has been used quite a bit so far. Dead Man, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Flash, and Captain Atom. Look at Blue Beetle for why certain sculpt is there. Same with the Superboy body buck. That one is worse right now in that it has sculpted parts that aren't appropriate for other characters. How they choose to do things seems very strange at times. Like work harder, not smarter.
Hey Anthony, I really like how objective your reviews are you think you could review some of the jujutsu kaisen figuarts? I’d like to see what you think about them.
@@AnthonysCustoms The interesting thing is that I saw a side-by-side comparison between the special version (platinium?) and the regular version; the special version looks to have the peg hole, the normal version doesn't.
ima start commenting this on every video: PLEASE REVIEW MCFARLANE PAGE PUNCHERS SUPERMAN. i don't expect it to score higher than a 7 for its flaws, but it has some super positive aspects as well.
Q of the Day: I prefer the lime green with the question marks. That goes all the way back to my Mego days. The center question mark actually is supposed to be a different size/font from the others. My problem with McFarlane is that it’s pulling teeth to get characters that aren’t in story-arc specific looks, and when we do, his heart (and resources) is rarely in it. The Rebirth Supergirl was the last straw for me. I can’t wait for you to get to that one once it hits widespread distribution. It makes Hasbro’s general laziness with Marvel Legends look like a Herculean effort by comparison.
I don’t like the chest cut they use at all. It’s so ugly. I’m pretty much at the point where I want to sell all my McFarlane figures and just stick to older lines. I haven’t really liked much of anything they have released but bought some that looked decent n clearance. But as standalone pieces, the whole line stinks. Particularly considering the 7” scale.
That's Blue Beetle body
This is the 7th reuse of this body. Previous ones were Deadman, Captain Atom, the recent Flash with unmasked head, the Bettle 2 pack and the single Bettle release.
What’s good is that this can work for a Golden or Silver Age display! I hope Todd does a classic Two-Face as well!

If mezco one12 makes it?🤔
My Riddler preference is Batman: The Animated Series. The hat and suit look. I LOVE that show.

The blank body saw use before Riddler for the Booster Gold and Blue Beetle 2-pack.
Did that come before Captain Atom or after ?
It was the booster gold and BB buck first, which is so why he has an armor plate thing on his shin, it's from Booster. Also the buck has been used for the Flashpoint Flash too now
And Deadman too actually, each iteration has had a small difference or two, or overlays like riddler's gloves to change the look
The blue on the hair makes his head look like a better superman than the last few
this is a pretty good blank body, proportions and muscle is good, also riddler has been this buff when he has been addicted to venom
Ridddler in a suit with hat is my favorite look so a figure of that would be awesome
This definitely my favorite look for riddler. I'm happy with this as an affordable riddler in this style.

For future cake ratings please include how many beers you would need to “hit” it.
The head sculpt looks like Henry Cavill cosplaying the Riddler lol
Riddle me this, Batman! If Quizzes are Quizzical… then what are Tests??? 🤔🤔🤔
Testicles
Id like to see McFarlane do the separate glove cuff more. Would avoid the problems on their Batman figured where theres paint issues
I like this figure. But you need catman if you haven’t purchased yet. I think he’s awesome.
That’s my Riddle for the Legion of Doom club.

😎👍🏼not a big fan of the riddler either, but this fig looks kind of kool, tx 4 d video bro
loving the hands! Blue Beetle buck and I'm OK with that. He looks like a Speed Racer villain.
I prefer the green suit with question marks and bowler hat.
I do like how the colors on this guy pop, but that’s the character design.
If McFarlane could make some ankle pivot then I’ll possibly jump back on these figs, but till then I’m gooooood

Yeah. It's just a lack of knowledge or care. It's very obviously possible. They just don't do it correctly.
This body has been used quite a bit so far.
Dead Man, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Flash, and Captain Atom.

That amount of hands needs to be the standard on all figures
Pretty sure this sculpt has been used a bunch already. Blue Beetle, Captain Atom, and Deadman for starters.
Booster Gold too

maybe if i can get review samples. not into the anime.
Yeah I get it thanks for replying though🙏
Maybe I'm seeing things, but is that a peg hole on the side of his belt? What's that for? Is that just reuse?
Maybe it's from when it was blue beetle

You get your hands on the gold label 89 Batmobile two pack or the ultimate Batman movie collection 6 pack?
Only ordered the big set. Should have it soon
Definitely more positive than I thought you'd be about this figure and the body reuse from Ted Kord Blue Beetle.

I have no interest in buying that one. Sorry
One thing I want to ask is, do you think this is a better base body than Buckycap, Pizza-Spidey, or even Vulcan?
Yes yes maybe
When is the orange piccolo review coming?

Does import style (Mafex/ SHF) joints cost that much more to produce? Why can't domestic companies make their joints look good?
Totally depends on the style of the particular joint. Some can cost a lot more.
