@@danieltougher1557I love Van now. I didn’t like him at first but then I think he’s gotten a lot better at interrupting people. The dude has crazy ADD but he’s been on meds and has been better
"Look but don't touch. Touch but don't taste. Taste but don't swallow. While you're jumping from one foot to the other, 'god' is laughing his arse off!" Pacino was smashing it during court, ha!
The ending was for the devil to trick Keanu’s character, purposely getting him to look in one direction and then he doesn’t see the devil coming from another angle, but it’s still his favorite sin: vanity.
I had no idea Pacino was the devil when I started watching the movie, or that the devil/religious themes would be a direct part of the story. Maybe that's why I liked the movie so much relative to others apparently, I think the story just unfolded as intended for me.
Psychologists say it's a very common thing that you can get antsy when you're standing so close to the edge of a high roof or cliff --- you're not scared you'll fall, you're scared that you'll JUMP
I saw this in the theater..when Al Pacino hugged and was excited to see Don King at the fight got a huge laugh from the crowd! Like of course Don King is a personal friend of Satan..lol
34:10 -- Apparently Meryl Streep learned Polish and German for Sophie's Choice, so she could speak German with the proper accent. that's some crazy, crazy shit
How do we make every movie better apparently? Change main characters with black woman. And also the nameless black janitor with no lines , we should’ve delved into his back story a little deeper
The most accurate source for info the Devil is the Bible. Apocrypha ( 14 books ). Book of Enoch tells you where demons originated. In Enoch the name Azazel ( which is one of Satans names. He has many names ) is used in Denzel movie Fallen ( referencing The Devil as a fallen Angel ).
One thing i dont understand is the doesnt hold up thing when it comes to effects hold up to what the crap they make today over cgi green screen garbage is what dont hold up
I think that the twist isn't as obvious as you made it seem, thinking that someone is literally Satan and that people who work for his firm are actual demons is not a jump that viewers or Reeves' character will take unless the movie explicitly tells them so. At least I didn't see it coming the first time watching and didn't think it was obvious in the re-watch either, I thought it was just a metaphor and those things weren't really happening.
HUGE fan of “Devils Advocate” but the only thing that would have made this movie any better would be if they had cast Mathew McConaughey instead of place of Keanu Reeves. I hate an actor that tried to do a southern accent. McConaughey would have given Pacino a run for his money
I am shocked that our of all 3 of these guys.. especially Van..there was a book & a movie n the 1970's called the advocate based on true story of a lawyer regretting defending a child molester & he's from down south..this movie devil's advocate is based solely around that book..when this video ends on what would b a better title clearly shows none of these 3 guys are aware of this essential "fact"- AMAZING..these guys know nothing about which they r talking about .even the name Lomax is from that book
Two classic Rewatchables moments on this pod (31:09, 49:44).
RIP Van's Dad and Bill's marriage.
Well done, sir.
You’re the real MVP.
Bill will sleep on a couch alone for some time.
The paused look between Van and CR when Bill tells the story about his wife is fucking hilarious
I always love when Van's on the Rewatchables 😂
Trolling or r u being serious?
Love Van
Is he the black guy that pretended to be offended by Ye? Effeminate ass dude.

you are missing the commas, which are needed for the punchines of the delivery in that scene
Keanu Reeves' character isn't dumb, he is a narcissist. So consumed by self that he misses everything
Gotta say, in the theater, that painting moving at the end was pretty cool
Right. I was so high.
I'M A FAN OF MAN
I'M A FANTAMAN
I’m a FANNAMAN
I love Bill selling Chris Ryan's Pacino imitation.
The ending was for the devil to trick Keanu’s character, purposely getting him to look in one direction and then he doesn’t see the devil coming from another angle, but it’s still his favorite sin: vanity.
Pacino’s teeth in DA has to be a character choice. He’s supposed to look like a shark. That’s what the devil is.
Still listening to this pod since it came out, and now enjoying it even more seeing it 25:20. Van, you're awesome.
Pacino in rare form 👌🏾🤌🏾
Is he? He's great and over the top. Sounds like every Pacino performance since the late 70"s.
@@MrOctober44 we must have different definitions of over the top then
Loving the video version of the pods lmaooo
"WERE YOU ALLOWED TO TELL THAT STORY, BILL???" lol

😮😮😮
Seriously???
you're like kramer thinking damian from the omen was just a rambunctious kid
I did know right away but still enjoyed it
It’s ruined by the whining and complaining of the character of Charlize Theron
The Exorcist is terrifying but at least Father Karron sacrifices himself to save Regan. The Omen is nothing but horrific things .
Wayne Jenkins 1:29:32
Gods work
Appreciated.

this is Pacino doing all the Pacino-isms, it's great
Thank you Bill beast of an episode… getting through working by myself during the freeze
Disappointed that van didn’t bring up Clarence Williams portrayal as satan in tales from the hood
Bill's not wrong. I lived in NY. Nice place to visit. Don't live there unless you make mad bank.
"No, Roy. You forgot... To duck." against Tarver.
Feeling Minnesota is really good.
Wayne take: Give Wayne a three episode break...then bring him back big time when we least expect him
Bill is so insistent that he’s from Boston…dude is from Greenwich ct….A NY suburb
Can't go without mentioning the ending and how chilling it was, with Paint It Black playing and Pacino laughing
was a great moment, in the theater
After watching this….I want to hear you guys talk about 1999 End of Days with Arnold
34:10 -- Apparently Meryl Streep learned Polish and German for Sophie's Choice, so she could speak German with the proper accent. that's some crazy, crazy shit
dino de laurentis doesn't care
Viggo Mortensen in The Prophesy is the best Satan in film history. Peter Stormare in Constantine rules too
The movie that displayed the concept of Hell in the most terrifying manner for me was Event Horizon. That movie has me convinced Hell was real
i have seen hell and it is called The View
Only knew Van from TMZ, he's great. Funny and well thought
Brilliant. Loved this ep.
Love this trio
I still think Keanu Reeve's best performance is in A Scanner Darkly, but no one ever talks about this film.
1:32:55 this is a book called good omens
I was just thinking that. Now even a tv show.
Van invoking the name of Danny Wuerffel in a discussion of the Devil 🙌🏼
LOOK…but don’t touch…..TOUCH…but don’t taste…..TASTE…but don’t eat
Want to vote for another rewatchable: Poltergeist.

1:32:49 is Van describing Good Omens and not realizing it.
How is Sean not on this episode!?
Van’s Apex Mountain haha
A prestige all black gender swap should forever be known as pulling a “High Fidelity”.
You guys totally missed Al Pacinos Devilish Pinky nail 💅
i literally just watched this the other day lmao
How about Angel Heart as a Rewatchable?? Louis Cifer vs John Milton.
The devil's advocate is the closest perception to who and what Satan is.
This was the special ed version of rewatchables
This was an iconic episode lmfao
This movie is a cult classic 😮
Heather Matarazzo is great in that opening court scene
25:28. . .hilarious
I don't know, there are some parts I'm glad were Keanu: Speed, Point Break and Constantine for sure
Chris Bauer is great in The Deuce
They brought back the rewatchables?????🎉
bill acting like a walk in the clouds was a miss is an L take. not only was it enjoyable it made 91m against a 20m budget
This was Charlize Theron's peak physically 👱🏻♀️🥰
Yes she acted so well in this movie
@@dianalord5825 So sexy too 🔥🔥

A good depicting of how Satan works in enticing mankind to sin. That is his assignment by god. Testament of Job explains more in detail.
Satan test everyone. No exceptions. Their is a way to win. Job made Satan cry.

Keanu Reeves being a top 7 movie star of the last 35 years is an unbelievable stretch
Barely top 100 on acting skills, he's actually terrible in some movies
@@Hoolygan4ever just off the top of my head I can name 20 guys of the 21st century who are undeniably better movie stars than Keanu.
