On today's upload we remove our fin insert from the HKS SSQV blow off valves we've been running. Although the high pitched noise blow off sounds was great, I look to switch it up a bit. There are other frequency fins on the market for different sounds but there is no harm in running them without one. Enjoy the video!

YES! Yes! This sounds so much better in my opinion. The stock was way to high pitched. This is more sleeper and fits my build.
Just a note: When you want to remove or change the inserts you can leave 4 allen screws (2.5mm key) and just remove the "high" ones. This will save time and the gasket remains in place. Also make sure you go around to check all screws are snug. Not tight, the gasket is soft.
I needed to go around a few times. As as you tighten them, others will get loose. Enough so they will vibrate out. Just a tip. 😉😊
Much better brother. BOV with class. BTW I finally made the trip to AMS. All the goodies are installed and shes tuned. = Love. Ended up with 463whp 532 torque. Big thanks for the ongoing share of knowledge on this platform.

Thanks For the vid. Installed BOVs couple of weeks ago. The plan was always to run quite. Left the insert in the driver's side to make sure they were working. Then took it out. The original install was a real pain. But the insert removal was 10 minutes and most of that was picking up the screws I dropped. Thank again

I guess I’m the oddball here. Took my inserts out today. Putting them back in tomorrow haha. I didn’t realize I’d miss the “squeaks” so much. It’s definitely quieter without them.
The swoosh is the best sound!

Watch out for the screws when taking out. Only 4 need to come off. I dropped all 4 screws in the engine bay by trying to take the top off at one time. Take them off one at a time and be careful or do it outside the engine bay like he does. Luckily I found them all in the undercarriage along with my wrench I lost a few days before. lol BTW, I put it back because I didn't like the sound. Oh and HKS sells another insert too for a slightly different sound.

This the kinda stuff you do while "patiently" waiting for new parts/upgrades to be released 😆 I'm glad you did this one though cuz I've been curious what it sounds like without the insert or with the purple one you can buy separately. I just don't feel like getting back in that engine bay until I have to cuz it's so freaking tight in there😪

Awesome Video! Do these require vehicle specific adjustment? I heard you have to adjust the spring settings so that they don’t release during full boost...

did you use the vacuum filter that came with the kit? i had to take them off because it caused my idle to fluctate between 500 and 800 rpm at idle. I they are too restricted

I am running a SSQV BOV on my Evo 9, I had the purple insert took it off as it was a bit too low, tried the silver it’s too loud so I am thinking about removing silver insert I think it sounds really nice without any insert I still liked the purple one though. What is your feed on SSQVs vs Tials?
Ssqv without was my favorite but tials sounds better

Man I really hope Nissan/Infiniti clean up some of the wiring/harness locations, the engine bay is such a mess when compared to older VQ motors.
My very first impression of the motor was how shitty the runs were. lol
Although I'm more OCD than most when it comes to stuff like that since I ran structured wiring for a few years. lol
They are definitely packed in there compared to the 3.7. Having twins makes it a whole new ball game, for sure!

I have the Stillen anti sway bar on my AWD Red Sport. I have it set to the stiffest setting and feel it's just right. A noticable improvement. YMMV
