Rough Translation: Its from a traditional Latvian folk song: lark, little birds don't sleep on the side of the road big gentlemen will pass by will appoint you to the carriage will lead to German land there you will put the beans to grind copper drum rumbling don't you know how to grind beans not that drum rumbling there you will be told to carve firewood there you will have the coal extinguished there you will make the armor forge there you will be made to go to war there you will go there to stay by the tip of the sword credits Released June 9, 2005 trad./arr. And yes its a battle cry of sorts. Latvia was invaded by Christian crusaders in 1200s. We were Strong Pagans The Last of Europe. The Crusaders were German. The song calls us to stay strong, never forget our identity as people and fight against slavery at their hands.
@@thhseeking Yes indeed, you had German Christian Crusaders “The Sword Brothers” as they called themselves slaughtering everyone in their path from the West and you had Russian Orthodox Mongols from the East. The Baltic Tribes Prussia, Lithuania, Latvians and parts of Estonia caught in middle of what was then the Superpowers of World. Yet, we Balts would NOT submit! By share Will, Stubbornness and Spite! And because of it today we have groups like Auli Singing Our Songs of Defiance of them all! As well as in all three countries. Customs, Traditions and Way of Life that PROUDLY hearken back to the “Old Faith” Nature Worshiping PAGANISM :)

Is this a battle cry?
Rough Translation: Its from a traditional Latvian folk song:
lark, little birds
don't sleep on the side of the road
big gentlemen will pass by
will appoint you to the carriage
will lead to German land
there you will put the beans to grind
copper drum rumbling
don't you know how to grind beans
not that drum rumbling
there you will be told to carve firewood
there you will have the coal extinguished
there you will make the armor forge
there you will be made to go to war
there you will go
there to stay
by the tip of the sword
