I just had an amazing run with charons ashes, blue candle n tungsten rod and the necronomicon curse. I could literally play it over and over without taking damage and doing 3 damage to everyone. Feel no pain gave me unlimited block too.

Right now, while watching this video, I beat the heart for the first time. Just your basic stance dance Watcher, no mantra. I did get Calipers and made very good use of them; I actually built up over 100 block just during one of the Heart's buff turns. The real star of the show was the Lesson Learned, which upgraded the last card in my deck* (a Mental Fortress I'd literally just picked up via Dream Catcher) by scoring the kill on Time Eater. I did have a useless Master Reality that was just upgrading my Insights, which I didn't have the money to remove in the Act 4 shop; I really thought I'd get an opportunity to pick up a Reach Heaven or Carve Reality, but no dice. *until I dream catchered a Foresight at the act 3 campfire so I could mitigate statuses
Hey Baalor, I've read some salty comments about your intros over the time so I felt like I have to say: I really like these new intros :) Felt like an important feedback. Cheers
Thanks for the feedback! Since all runs here come from live twitch content, Baalor can't record an intro for every run, so it's hard to find a good balance on intros.
I preordered the Slay the Spire board game, but before I'd opened the package after receiving it, I saw someone local offering $400 for it, so I've never played the board game. :)
Baalor has responded to this saying that the cards shown in the promo art will not necessarily appear in the game come release time. For instance, in the sts1 clad and silent promo art, there is a card that looks like metallicize but with a different card art that never made it in-game. I think it's plausible defect will reappear, but not guaranteed.
For beating Cultist on A20 without taking damage, you could theoretically get a high damage card before the fight like Bludgeon, Immolate, or Carnage. Then during the fight, draw and play Bash and Strike on turn 1, then draw and play your big damage card on turn 2. I thin that should kill Cultist at just about any starting health, unless it's rolled its max and you have Carnage. But for a starting deck, yeah I can't see how you'd perfect that fight unless you have potions or something
In general it's her best damage, but you need to have answers for every check the game throws at you. Donu and Deca are gonna be really tough to stack poison on due to their artifact.
Poison builds are incredible scaling damage over time but many fights will ask for fast upfront damage instead or have artifacts/debuff clears that hard counter slow poison stacking.
Burst - Bouncing Flask - Catalyst, these three together can make a solid big damage poison answer by themselves and they can go alongside her direct damage due to the density of efficiency.
@@vladthedragon8250 Envenom and Shivs are also a good way to inflict poison while also dealing great upfront damage, but it needs more oomph, which is via Accuracy, Snecko Skull or Wrist Blade
Hey Baalorlord! I strongly recommend to you that you should definetely try a new game called Dice & Fold. Really seems promising and fun! I wonder which strategies you could find there. Cya

It seemed like you were crushing every fight until you hit giant head. I guess it seemed like scraping because you prepared for a lot of inopportune elite fights by buying potions
Yes, but "Beat of Death" perfectly counters what the Silent does. Imagine a boss that hits you for 20 damage if you don't play at least 6 cards on a turn. Nothing like that exists. But getting punished hard for playing multiple cards does exist.
Transient does, kind of? If each of your cards are low impact damage. Silent doesn't have to have a card spammy deck to win, I think. Burst+, Bouncing flask+, catalyst+ is 5 cards played and applies 216 poison. Assuming you get those turn 1, it's enough damage to kill heart so you just have to block for one heart cycle + beat of death. Which, footwork is enough to negate beat of death damage when playing basic block cards. Another comment mentioned afterimage and 100% agreed on that; one afterimage on lower ascensions makes beat of death irrelevant; 2 afterimages for when beat of death becomes 2.
I think dome is the worst relic in the entire game. I’d rather have anything other than dome. The downside is so massive that it would still be a big downside if you only got 3 turns of not seeing enemy intent.
@@belugahungry but memorizing enemy intents doesn’t count for 1 energy… the relic would have to give 2 energy to even be sort of usable to most people… think of act 2 gremlin leader… either attacking for 30 on turn one or 0…. 1 energy lets you cover that? I died to nem because I didn’t know if it was the 21 hit… the 5 burns…. Or the 45….. it was the 45…. 1 energy didn’t do a single thing for me on that turn…. I blocked with a reasonable amount of cards but if I spent 4 energy blocking for 45 on the off chance it was the 45 I lose anyway…. It’s just not a good relic for 99% of players. It looks easy in baalor’s hands because the posted video is a winning run…. I have almost every single enemy intent memorized but there’s wayyyy too many variables to make the relic good. Like I said it’d be a strong downside if it was only the first x turns of a fight….

Has 1:13:55 been turned into a RUclips Short? If not, it should be. Really fun meta analysis of the Champ fight.
Good call! I'll put it in the queue for shorts.
Seeing just how much harder it goes for silent without energy lends credit to the belief that they need them more than any other character.

Hmm, just noticed that the die in calculated gamble is not correct, irl dice are made with the four and the three on opposite sides...

There's also a lot of systems that reward you for playing cards, and she has afterimage, which counteracts beat
Giant head is that test, I think. Rewards card spam over few but powerful cards.

runic dome is really good if you memorize the enemy intents and the extra energy lets you block more to counteract not seeing enemy intents
