Congratulations to Bugatti. Definitely in a league of its own as king of the straight line. You should always remember something Enzo Ferrari said many years ago when asked about why the Ferrari of the day wasn't as fast as the Porsche in that same year. His answer was typical of what owning a Ferrari means, and what building Ferrari meant to him. "if Ferrari wanted to build the fastest car in the world, they could do it with every new model they release" "having the fastest car should never be compared with having the best complete car" "if you can't understand this, you'll never understand what a true racing sports car is" It wasn't the Porsche Ferrari was being compared to, it was the Honda NSX. Regardless of any comparison made, its hard to argue, Ferrari with its heritage, knowledge, resources, success and reputation in motor racing, couldn't build the fastest car if they really wanted to. At the end of the day, we only have personal opinions on why we love one car over another. And that's what makes being a lover of beautiful cars mean. As long as we are mere spectators and not an owner of these beautiful pieces of art, we can not understand why a buyer wants one brand over another. The luxury of choice with the wealth needed, allows these people to buy one of each if they choose.
The Veyron being this much quicker after 10 years is amazing to me, I would however never want to have that car, the Ferrari, yeah I could do with one of those :)
It's still insane that a car that's more than a decade old, comfortable and really heavy. Just accelerates and never stops accelerating. A masterpiece of automotive engineering.

He is right about this, the original veyron was never made for corner performance (there is the Super Sport for that), the Veyron is still very heavy due to all of the leather and heavy electronics in the car. There is proof for this in this video(1:52), the Veyron has a very advanced brake system (400mm vented, ceramic discs at the front axle!), but yet they still couldn't slow the Veyron down fast enough and the Veyron had to use that extra bit of the drag strip to slow it down to a manoeuvrable speed, and the LaFerrari acheived this much quicker due to its light weight.

You've got them mixed up, the ss is the fastest ever production version of the veyron. Top speed is 276mph I believe, compared to the standard veyrons 268mph.

What is strange is that in another drag race between these two cars but with a different owner of another LaFerrari, the LaFerrari clobbered the Veyron but in this race the Veyron clobbers the LaFerrari. I think in this race the owner must not have utilized all the power of the LaFerrari. The Veyron is only King of the drag strip until the new Koeniggsegg Regera comes onto the scene - 0 - 300kph in 12.3 seconds compared to around 17 seconds for the Veyron! Yet Bugatti still has yet to unveil the 1600hp Bugatti Veyron supersport (insert Dr Evil laugh here) LOL.

top gear... the same show that showed a mclaren f1 shooting off in front a veyron in a drag race? yeah, take top gear results with a grain of salt. that said, you're not wrong. the veyron isn't great at turning in (in fact, it's terrible), but it does have pretty good brakes and is actually good going *out* of corners. it's not super-car good at cornering, but it's still very competent.
I did not expect to see a regular Veyron pull like that on a LaFerrari after they were both hooked up. I'm quite surprised by that result. An Agera-R easily walks on a 1200 horsepower Veyron Supersport so I cannot even imagine how the Regera will go.

The LaFerrari has a slightly faster acceleration of 0-60 in 2.4 seconds compared to the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse which has a 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. Of course the Veyron has a noticeably higher top speed. Unrestricted LaFerrari has a top speed of 231 mph while the Veyrons easily pass 250 mph.

The LaFerrrari is a car done right, it is the 2nd fastest production car 0-60. It is a 6.3L v12, meaning the have to use intelligence to make the car as quick as it is, It has a 0-60 in 2.4 seconds compaired to the Bugatti's 2.7, and yes it has a adjustable wing, just like EVERY HYPER CAR. The LaFerrari has the tuned wing, so does the P1, So does the Pagani Haurya, on top of that the LaFerrari is a hybrid, using more of its Italian vehicle Brilliance to add 161 HorsePower Boost to its Original Engine specs!!! :)

Crosal Divine it was tuned, they upped the Aerodynamics, tuned it to 1600 hp and did a weight reduction. You are never going to buy a chiron that goes 304 mph. Your top speed will be the limiter 261 mph lets be real.
No surprise there! Ferrari would be a better track day car and the Bugatti would get you from London to the races at Monaco in a more practical allround way.
Damp pavement isn't gunna help a rwd car in any race, let alone against the OG of dig racing, lol. The only chance even a hyper car like the LF has, is if conditions are ideal to use its power to weight advantage from lower speeds to try and stay ahead till the end. Something that's below maybe 150mph or so. Once things get over 150 it's a HP race, and the Veyron is just a beast off the line, and at speed. Those two cars are amazing either way. It is really cool to watch them clash on an empty air strip like that. Too bad the conditions weren't ideal for the RWD car, but hey...it did well considering. Thanks for the cool vid!

In another run same Veyron posted 224 mph. Tim says of tires are new to last run of Veyron vs LaFerrari. Wet or dry LaFerrari isn't putting down over 220 here.
Actually there was new video footage of that race from inside the laferrari about 3 weeks ago. The veyron was ahead after 70mph and then the laferrari took off and left it. At no point did the veyron gain ground... It was only falling behind. The video you saw was with the decieving camera angle.

Gentlemen! Here, too many are focusing solely on the top end speed... The Bugatti is a beautiful exercise in maximum speed, achieved comfortably through a 8 liters, 16cyl, quad turbo and AWD traction. And it will remain a beautiful statement in the years to come. ( It was in fact a loss in profits for VW..) LaFerrari will feedback (not just the looks guys) the driver in a manner not achievable by Bugatti thanks to a 6.3 liters, 12cyl hybrid engine. It will be just a handful of hp shorter in power but it will take you in every corner as a racer car and, by weighting over 500 Kilos less, it will create a more realistic scenario..
Doesnt make sense 200 kmh+, because you need just hp to realize that. So you can take a cube with 1500 hp. Bugatti Veyron is even better in Vmax stealth as a F1 car. But hes not better. The best and most informative challenge in drag is 0-200 kmh. Why ? Because 0-100kmh is not good, because a Lotus Elise is faster than BMW M3 what doesnt say anything. Or take a Motocross 250 ccm which is faster too than the BMW M3. So this information (0-100) says nothing. 200 kmh+ acceleration is just hp what is easy to realize without big know how. But for 0-200 kmh you must have the right proportion of weight, power, aerodynamic etc..

It was short lived The Koenigsegg Regera officially broke the - 400 kph barrier - on Sunday the 29th September, 2019. LaFerrari Aperta - owners are claiming that Ferrari have deliberately underplayed it's top speed. The quoted speed of 215 mph is a rough guide as "unsubstantiated" reports claiming of easily reachingreachinga a anywhere between 216 245 mph.

The veyron here was modded! Im not sure why smhee doesnt say that here. Everyone there at the vmax event that day knows this. Theres a standard veyron vs la ferrari at another vmax event and the la ferrari pulled away.

Great work, Schmee! Finally some decent angles of a drag race between these two Titans. What is strange is that in another drag race between these two cars but with a different owner of another LaFerrari, the LaFerrari clobbered the Veyron but in this race the Veyron clobbers the LaFerrari. I think in this race the owner must not have utilized all the power of the LaFerrari. The Veyron is only King of the drag strip until the new Koeniggsegg Regera comes onto the scene - 0 - 300kph in 12.3 seconds compared to around 17 seconds for the Veyron! Yet Bugatti still has yet to unveil the 1600hp Bugatti Veyron supersport (insert Dr Evil laugh here) LOL.

Ferrari actually got a pretty good start considering the Bug is AWD ... but if this were the 1200HP Bug it would have been even worse of a beat down. Great video! Enjoyed it. I'd drive the Bug for my daily driver and use the LaFerrari for track events.

yeah, take top gear results with a grain of salt.
that said, you're not wrong. the veyron isn't great at turning in (in fact, it's terrible), but it does have pretty good brakes and is actually good going *out* of corners. it's not super-car good at cornering, but it's still very competent.

I did not expect to see a regular Veyron pull like that on a LaFerrari after they were both hooked up. I'm quite surprised by that result. An Agera-R easily walks on a 1200 horsepower Veyron Supersport so I cannot even imagine how the Regera will go.

The LaFerrari has a slightly faster acceleration of 0-60 in 2.4 seconds compared to the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse which has a 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. Of course the Veyron has a noticeably higher top speed. Unrestricted LaFerrari has a top speed of 231 mph while the Veyrons easily pass 250 mph.

Crosal Divine it was tuned, they upped the Aerodynamics, tuned it to 1600 hp and did a weight reduction. You are never going to buy a chiron that goes 304 mph. Your top speed will be the limiter 261 mph lets be real.
No surprise there! Ferrari would be a better track day car and the Bugatti would get you from London to the races at Monaco in a more practical allround way.
Damp pavement isn't gunna help a rwd car in any race, let alone against the OG of dig racing, lol. The only chance even a hyper car like the LF has, is if conditions are ideal to use its power to weight advantage from lower speeds to try and stay ahead till the end. Something that's below maybe 150mph or so. Once things get over 150 it's a HP race, and the Veyron is just a beast off the line, and at speed. Those two cars are amazing either way. It is really cool to watch them clash on an empty air strip like that. Too bad the conditions weren't ideal for the RWD car, but hey...it did well considering. Thanks for the cool vid!

Actually there was new video footage of that race from inside the laferrari about 3 weeks ago. The veyron was ahead after 70mph and then the laferrari took off and left it. At no point did the veyron gain ground... It was only falling behind. The video you saw was with the decieving camera angle.

The Bugatti is a beautiful exercise in maximum speed, achieved comfortably through a 8 liters, 16cyl, quad turbo and AWD traction. And it will remain a beautiful statement in the years to come. ( It was in fact a loss in profits for VW..)
LaFerrari will feedback (not just the looks guys) the driver in a manner not achievable by Bugatti thanks to a 6.3 liters, 12cyl hybrid engine. It will be just a handful of hp shorter in power but it will take you in every corner as a racer car and, by weighting over 500 Kilos less, it will create a more realistic scenario..

Doesnt make sense 200 kmh+, because you need just hp to realize that. So you can take a cube with 1500 hp. Bugatti Veyron is even better in Vmax stealth as a F1 car. But hes not better. The best and most informative challenge in drag is 0-200 kmh. Why ? Because 0-100kmh is not good, because a Lotus Elise is faster than BMW M3 what doesnt say anything. Or take a Motocross 250 ccm which is faster too than the BMW M3. So this information (0-100) says nothing. 200 kmh+ acceleration is just hp what is easy to realize without big know how. But for 0-200 kmh you must have the right proportion of weight, power, aerodynamic etc..

Well it's not the master of speed as seen with all of the races against koenigseggs and it certainly isn't a master at the circuit either but it is a beautiful car and really refined. And still stupidly quick.
