This is the series that got me into manga. I preordered the boxset from RightStuf and they actually shipped it out early (I got it at the beginning of October). My only issue with it is that the "prequel" booklet isn't a prequel. The story has nothing to do with The Promised Neverland. It's one of a series of special chapters and for some reason, Viz picked the one story that wasn't actually about TPN. One of these bonus stories is actually an epilogue for the series. I wish they had given us that one instead. It would have made a lot more sense. Or better yet, just give us all of the special chapters in an extra volume.
I know, right? The bonus manga makes no sense! The epilogue chapter was published in the exact same volume as We Were Born, surely Viz has the rights to it?
I hope, one day, even if they're Japanese exclusives, we'll get "deluxe edition" volumes of TPN. Something like the double-length Death Note Black Edition or 20th Century Boys Perfect Edition. With restored colour pages and the epilogue chapter included in the final volume.
Also, Viz gotta pick up their slack and release the 4 TPN light novels already. They're available in France, Spain, Italy, Poland, etc. but not USA/UK yet. Tsk, tsk.
@@ThePreciseClimber TPN is my favorite series. I was so upset when I learned there was so much more content for it but none of it was in English. I really want to read the light novels. There’s also a Volume 0 that was a special edition for an event, I think. I hope it all gets translated one day.
Probably the author wanting it to be like that, giving an extra chapter (could be wrong but I thought it was in the TPN universe). They should have given the BEYOND the promised Neverland volume too
@@Floridameerkat93there are some fan translations for the light novels + vol 0. There is actually a full site dedicated for the promised Neverland content (includes any extra stuff such as arts, website games, drama CDs RUclips links, parodied neverland, etc)
@@time2play961 The prequel has a similar theme to TPN, but that's the only similarity. It's not set in the same world and doesn't use any of the same characters. I believe it's referred to as a prequel because it eventually led to the creation of the TPN. They kept the theme but reworked the story and characters.
Including Beyond The Promised Neverland would have been okay, but for the price of the box set, I would have liked some new content. There's still plenty of TPN books that haven't been translated yet. It would have been nice to have gotten one of them as a bonus instead.
I wish they would sell the poster and booklet individually I would love to buy the box set but I already own the series started buying it as soon as I finished season 1 couldn’t wait for season 2 (thankfully I didn’t wait for the disappointment)

Will forever hope that this show gets the FMA Brotherhood treatment. Cloverworks needs to redeem themselves for whatever that garbage they claim is season 2.
I read the whole series at my local library because I despised season 2 and wanted to make sure that the manga was different. I'm glad I read the manga because it's actually good but I feel like not a lot of people will know about it due to the horrible adaptation of season 2

I absolutely love the promised Neverland it's one of my most favorite animes I've watched growing up and I really want the whole collection of the manga series I just don't have that much money so I'm going to raise some money and hopefully I'll get the whole set on Christmas I pray

Looking at the thickness of the spines at 1:45, they appear to be the weaker Italian prints. Especially Volumes 4 & 15 seem too thin. Only Volumes 16, 19 & 20 had a different page count, the rest should be uniform.

@@TheDarkSage aww man that sucks. although I'll still be getting the box set due to the fact that I really want to get into the series, I've heard that the quality of the volumes aren't bad, I've also seen that the newer Italian prints are way better than the older ones. I know nothing about the series other than season 2 of the anime sucks, so I might read the first chapter or volume online before I spend $100+ on the series lol.

@@darnellmurrell8173Kids being the food and then trying to escape.They want to live and not be food (Sorry English is not my first language and the manga is great and season 1 of the anime too so check it out)

The plot is about children in an orphanage finding out that they're basically being raised as animals for slaughter for intelligent monsters (who are the dominant species in their world). The kids try to figure out how to escape the orphanage and survive in a world where they're food. It's a mystery/thriller-esque manga. Definitely worth a read.

Thanks for the thorough unboxing! I received the boxed set early from Right Stuf also. I love what they did with it, and it looks great! Being someone who originally read the digital version, I got this as a trophy for finishing it. I didn't realize it had updates to the translation and added content so I went ahead and re-read it!
