I used to have a huge manga collection, and once I hit 30 years old, I realised just how much space it takes up and you can read a volume in about 15 minutes and most don't have any reread value so will just sit there gathering dust. Plus when a new volume comes out, was always a pain to fit it on the shelf next to the others so would always have to reorganise them constantly so one day I sold/donated the lot and felt a weight was lifted. I now just like to look at other peoples collections, though I'm sure most people will rid themselves of their collections at some point.
Yeah thats how everything is collected if your collection is big enough. I’d be curious hearing which series are your favourites and which you maybe haven’t read and if this impacted on your shelves arrangements (you didn’t seem to go by completes series/same publishers or alphabetical arrangement). So so cool, lovely relaxed video, manga sloth!❤
No moisture concerns where they are at. It is climate controlled and anything like that has never been a issue. Yes the collection is beefy and this is only around half lol. I went with more complete series in the backs besides the firtst row. Then a few completes on the front with mostly ongoing. Id say 90%+ is read on or shelves. Behind the scenes though there is a lot not read haha. Thanks for watching!
I have all my manga on Wall shelves too, but you are a genius! I hated the rails that the brackets go on as I need to make the manga fit around them so there are gaps, but the spacers you made with the wooden straps on the wall!! ❤ *chefs kiss* I need to implement that immediately!
Oh thanks! I didint know if anyone would ask about the wood on the back haha. Keeps them all uniform and nice! I agree 10000000% the thin industrial brackets while holding more weight is nice them being mega thin is key! When I started looking I really didint want all the ones that were thicker and have gaps so these worked great! If you do change yours up lmk how it goes!
There's just something beautiful to this. I can't quite put it into words. is it the uniformity of the series, making the stacks aesthetically pleasant?
That is some professional double stacking you've got going on! Congratulations, it looks amazing! I like the idea of two rows of books on each level. The way you did this, there's a slight gap between the wall and the books for ventilation. I live in a humid place, so that is a concern of mine. Your shelves are also set in a way that shows about half of the spines on the back row, which is great. Just a couple of questions: - Is it too much of a pain to retrieve a book from the sections in the back? - Why not build it so that the books in the back would be fully supported by those little platforms you added? It looks like they were hanging a little bit at the front.
Its not a pain for sure. 1st I only put completed series in the back rows for the most part so im not grabbing them usually. Also it would still be easier than having double the shelves needed to store them all. They do not need to be fully supported at all. Just at the 75% mark at least. They dont lean or anything and its a decision for less weight on the shelves and also convenience of not having to cut any wood length wise. Its a great way to double your manga space while showing some spine! Instead of covering them up. The gap in the back was a last minute thing I added and it worked grat to keep them uniform but like you were saying it can work well for air circulation. Thanks for watching!!
I love the way you organised your managas but how will you get the manga which is at the back, like there are books in the front which can be a problem.

I once had a library in the house for manga, but got suffocated with and sold everything. Went full digital (except for One piece). And time to time I feel a little regret, but wouldn't restart this time in my life. Did you feel something like that? Thought on selling the collection?
Nope not even a little. Im sure if I didint have the space for them then maybe (but then I wouldn't buy as much). But I have tons of room and cant get suffocated since it is its own library (this wall in the vid is only half the collection anyway) and has so much room it does not take up any other part of the house and it does not use any space I would use for anything else. Its okay to restart at any time in your life BUT do it different and only get things you truly treasure and you will have a nice bookshelf with a great collection.

Love the collection. One question though, as One piece is not going to end anytime soon along with many other ongoing mangas, what would you do with all the new volumes? Would you just completely reorganise it again?
Well you are commenting on a older reorganization vid I just posted a new one (this vid and new one show halfish the collection) So no matter what if they are ongoing or complete if you get tons more manga you gotta reorganize simple as that. But I sort them by complete and ongoing so that I have minimal to move every time.
Wow that much manga?? Dang you can read it again so many times cuz there are so many varieties u can choose!! Btw great manga collection dude! Also plz start to collect blue lock mangas as they are very rare to find in india 😭
Wall is great. Would have loved to see it organized in publisher’s order or big to small or finished to completed or just A-Z. But that is just me, you know? it really looks so cool also, add some figures here and there, will look awesome
I did move all my figs to other shelves and may mix some manga in with them with the other half of the collection. I just dont have a real way of sorting my manga outside of book height and ongoing/completed. In this case having them that way works out for the 100s of ongoing series I got. Plus having them not look like a up and down roller rollercoaster imo. BUT your way would be cool too but since this is only half the collection it would be a mess to do lol
How much of your manga is actually Japanese editions? I’ve seen people do collection videos before and was just curious about how much English or Japanese editions you have
Hmmm maybe less than 20 volumes total. This vid is just one wall of the collection so its about half. My recent collection vid shows it all and you will see some volumes in another language but not many.
Did you make those risers yourself? They look great! I’d like to start using them at some point, but I don’t have the money nor the building expertise 😂 Do you have a tutorial on how to make the risers?
Yes I made them and yes I have a video on making them. They are super easy and if you live near a hardware store (something like lowes or home depot in the states) They will cut them to your size for free so all you have to do is screw/or nail little legs on and your done!
I swear you're like the first person i've seen in these reorganizing/organizing videos to have Can't stop cursing you and Dandadan on their shelf. (P.S I meant owning them and having them on their shelf)
thanks! this wall is only half of it (full collection vid is out) So here are some real short series I could think of off the top of my head - look back, the gods lie, paradise kiss, all you need is kill, uzumaki, shuna's journey

where can one get those wooden risers that adds a second layer of manga on each shelf?
I made them all. Its hecka cheap (or free) and sooooooooo easy
OMG, I wish I had the possibility to copy that - so much space for manga! 😍
Turned out nice!!!
@@TheMangaSloth Definitely! 😍 I'm soooooooo jealous! 😝
Wow this looks so cool! How long did it take to collect all those books by the way?
Well this wall is halfish the collection (full collection vid out) But its been 15ish years since I started. But some years I was only getting a few manga or less a month sometimes none. Then we also sold off the collection once which was 500+ volumes easily. So its been slow and steady!
This was such a satisfying video to watch! That’s a VERY impressive collection you got there! So do you prefer mangas to the anime’s? Also did you build those shelves and lifters yourself because it turned out SO perfect for the mangas!
Thanks! This is about half the collection so if you want to see the rest I have a new collection vid up!
I def read more manga than I watch anime (just easier and animes still miss so much stuff) But I do watch a lot of anime too! I did put those shelfs up and I use book risers I made behind every shelf I own!
@@TheMangaSloth yeah i JUST found your videos on YT so my bad if you’ve answered these questions in other videos haha
I’ve been wanting to get into Manga because I’m an avid reader as is and since I love anime it seems fitting just to jump in and enjoy the art of manga 🤩
That’s some impressive handy work you did there with everything though! All of it fit just perfect! So satisfying 💪
@@samarycastro Nooooooo its all good! If you can tell I like talking and replying to all the people who take time to talk to me! I also started mainly with anime but when I started reading manga and seen how different and wonderful it was I was hooked! Thanks for the kind words!
love the diversity of genres!!
Thanks!
I never thought about having a stand in the back so you could have two rows!!
Yeah! I need to do all that I can to make space lolol. Plus I like being able to see some of the spines!
@@TheMangaSloth yes! That’s my problem I like to see the spines. I also have a short attention span so if I can’t see it then it doesn’t exist in my mind
I’m buying manga but I’m having a hard time deciding whether to buy box sets or just individually as I read. What would you recommend? Especially for long series.
If you like the series then box sets are a great way to go. But it takes more money up front so if you cant do that singles are just fine!
@@TheMangaSloth okay thanks!
This video is so well done! It inspires me to do my own organization video. Great job making it so neat and aesthetic!
Thank you!!!!!!!
Thank you! For the great content!
Hey if you haven’t you should definitely try out Yu Yu hakusho, it’s another yoshiro togashi classic like hunter x hunter
1-19 of YuYu is in this video! I have read and watched it all many many years before hxh
Great video, excellent solution for organising your manga, looks really good 😊
Thank you! It worked out well!
What a magnificent collection my friend really impressive
Thank you kindly 🔥
What a set up! Beautiful to the eyes 😍
The only bad thing to say about this vid aint even to do with you, seeing those UGLY tokyopop spines makes me shudder 😅 am i right? Lol

Great job man. You have a beautiful collection,
thanks!! This is about half of it and its the part thhat looks the best imo cause of the wall shelves!
I wish i had this kind of collection. Fantastic room and collection man. Love your all videos. Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Thanks a ton I appreciate that! Yeah this wall is about half the collection (full tour coming soon but previous one out) Needs a big room dedicated to just manga with this much lol
How do you manage the dust with this open space shelf?
I dont get must dust at all. I think I have dusted once lightly in the last 5 years. Just no dust at all nice and clean all over haha
@@TheMangaSloth Must be great living in the States. Here in tropical country I need to factor in the dust and the sun. Glass cover block the dust fine but exposure to sunlight make my manga papers go brown.
This looks awesome! I was watching one of your older videos and got the itch to buy some more Manga... Congrats on this new setup. It's supper clean and looks like it will work well for years to come! ALSO!!! if you shrink the length down a touch more, you might be able to stuff some figures in the side and still be able to see them.
I have plans to maybe put some figs on it sometime to spice it up! I know the manga buying itch haha hope you pick up some stuff you enjoy!!!!

^ Did not know they were a thing till I saw your video!
You have a lot of anime manga books you lucky
Love the collection. One question though, as One piece is not going to end anytime soon along with many other ongoing mangas, what would you do with all the new volumes? Would you just completely reorganise it again?
Well you are commenting on a older reorganization vid I just posted a new one (this vid and new one show halfish the collection) So no matter what if they are ongoing or complete if you get tons more manga you gotta reorganize simple as that. But I sort them by complete and ongoing so that I have minimal to move every time.
To me its satfsfying the way you shelf the manga lol. Big collection though!
yeah it is satisfying!
Wow! So big collection🤯
thx!! This wall is about half of it!
@@TheMangaSloth even I don't have so much
Wow you must do a lot of reading😳 I wish I could afford this, I don’t even have my own room😂
Well its me and my wife so its less than you think but still a lot!
bro you have my dream house 😭. Ngl that shelf looks like it’s from a library and looks so cool.
And all around it is all my other shelves with manga so it does feel like a library lol thanks!
This looks great. Love the nice bookshelf sounds. Will you have another video where we can better see all of the titles? Thanks
yes dont worry i am working on my collection video which will show eveything in the vid ans the thousands not shown 😉
Amazing set up! It looks SO nice!
Thank you! 🤗
When your local Barnes & Noble closes, just make your own Barnes & Noble
One with a better selection and books that are not damaged lol.
Wow that much manga?? Dang you can read it again so many times cuz there are so many varieties u can choose!! Btw great manga collection dude!
Also plz start to collect blue lock mangas as they are very rare to find in india 😭
Yeah this wall is about half the collection. I have a collection vid out. I do have some blue lock hope its good!
@@TheMangaSloth trust me it's really good!! (Don't forget to watch the anime as well 😊) Love ur vids!
Wall is great.
Would have loved to see it organized in publisher’s order or big to small or finished to completed or just A-Z. But that is just me, you know? it really looks so cool
also, add some figures here and there, will look awesome
I did move all my figs to other shelves and may mix some manga in with them with the other half of the collection. I just dont have a real way of sorting my manga outside of book height and ongoing/completed. In this case having them that way works out for the 100s of ongoing series I got. Plus having them not look like a up and down roller rollercoaster imo. BUT your way would be cool too but since this is only half the collection it would be a mess to do lol
@@TheMangaSloth great collection and video, man♥️ love your content
@@MahmoudElNagdi8 means a lot thank you!
Wow…I’m speechless! 😭❤️
I only have 30+ manga ;) i hope in the future i can buy more manga just like you! Anyways I really like this video! 🫶🏻
thanks! You can do it if you want to have a manga wall like me! 1 at a time!
@@TheMangaSloth Oh, awesome! Thank you so much!
I swear you're like the first person i've seen in these reorganizing/organizing videos to have Can't stop cursing you and Dandadan on their shelf. (P.S I meant owning them and having them on their shelf)
nice!! They are good series!
It looks great
I'm just amazed at how many mangas you have 😂
This wall is only half the collection I have well over double this! Got a new collection vid showing it all out now! Thanks for watching!
Wow you have such an amazing collection of manga 😮 can you recommend me some short mangas(😊 any genre is fine)
thanks! this wall is only half of it (full collection vid is out) So here are some real short series I could think of off the top of my head - look back, the gods lie, paradise kiss, all you need is kill, uzumaki, shuna's journey
Thank youu
This is so nice I would come over and read every single one of these manga if I could lol
yesssssss and this is only around half the collection! Come get cozy in the manga library and read all the manga!
Wow, beautiful!
thanks!
Sorry if this sounds weird but your voice is so relaxing to listen to
Nah thats not weird haha Id rather have that than everyone thinking my voice was annoying haha
150 ft or 45,72 meters of shelving. Taking an average for manga width (my black torch and bleach 3in1) to be 2,25 centimeters, that would mean you could fit 2032 manga volumes on that shelving unit!
Yeah I can get around 2600 on them if they are all reg sized. But this wall is only half the collection so I use bookshelves off screen everywhere.
Bro u have the best manga collection. And do u have any manga recommendations I just started collecting.
thanks! what stuff do you like reading?
@@TheMangaSloth I like stuff like attack on titan and I like kaiju no 8
OMG, you have no idea how happy I was watching you organize everything, it looks amazing
thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how do you get your manga spines to be perfectly matched up to one another, the pages and cover of my book buldges out and doesnt let me do that
Might have to flatten your book or something. None of my manga do anything like that
Man that is impressive and worth alot of money
