New subscriber here! Im just getting into manga after years of dabbling in watching anime. I am checking out series of manga as I watch the shows, but this is amazing! Definitely hope to check out more of your videos!
I love seeing your collection and all the different series you have. Its so big and very much goals for me. Sadly like 5+ years ago or so i had a big collection, for me at least, had over 700 books. I loved it, was so proud of it. But for some reason, i went through this weird faze and got rid of literally everything. I dont know why. I loved reading. I loved manga. And still very much do. I hate it really cuz i got rid of so many series that are hard to get now without paying an arm and a leg for them. But thats okay. Its still fun to try and find them again. And since ive started recollecting, Im almost at 400 volumes. And its been close to 2 years. Still got a long way to go but watching your videos makes me happy and makes me want to collect even more :)
Thanks!! Believe me I feel ya 100% I went thru something similar many years ago getting rid of most of the manga and we didint need the money etc. I regret it now but it helped me a few more times when I had similar feelings. I just chill and dont think about or read manga ezpz haha. OR I drop mid series I just keep buying or holding on. I know what you mean on the prices these days. I still shop around and get manga for hecka cheap and even buy used still. Just have to hunt for the dealz harder now haha. 400 is still a ton of manga for sure. Just have fun and buy what you love and want to collect and read and you will end up with a collection you are proud of and love each and every book!
Fantastic collection! I loved the way you organized everything. Definitely Goals. The Manga Box Sets look amazing together. Definitely motivates me to get more of them! Keep on the excellent work.
Oh this is only half ish the collection haha (full collection vid coming soon!) But thank you! Glad you think the new box set location does not look dumb I was worried!
i usually sort my manga alphabetically, but right now i just have my full set of komi cant communicate on my top shelf, the colorful series on my 2nd shelf, and the rest on my third
I have my collection organized by size (smallest at the top of the shelf unless it’s a hardback, in which case i put on top of the shelf), publisher and alphabetical. I enjoy giving order to my chaotic life lol. I find the Oskar dvd shelves very customizable and work well for different sized manga.
Oh wow that is some serious organization for sure! I do size and complete or not lol. If I did alphabetical I would die when I have to rotate 1k manga each time lol
Honestly, since I live in an apartment currently and can’t have tall bookshelves to fit more of my collection, I just organize it in a way that I feel everything will fit, but still look nice and have a theme. Like I have a couple cat manga shelves (😂 Of course! 😂), me and my sister’s favorite author growing up shelf, TBR/series I love shelf, and etc. I am wanting to try to make a Clamp series shelf and a BL/Steamship shelf next. ☺️ So, even though it is work and can get a little frustrating, I enjoy organizing my collection and thinking about how I can still make it look nice, have a theme, and be able to fit as much as possible. ☺️❤️
I think I organize that way some. Putting some sections and bookcases (not shown in this vid) that are for certain things. Tall ceilings are great if you got them. I wish mine were taller in some sections for sure. But working with the space you got and being happy with your collection is the best!
Your shelves are so beautiful 🥰👍♥️!! I love your manga collection, hauls, and organization video, Manga Sloth 📚🦥 😄🙌💯!! I collect DC Comics Graphic Novels and organize my volumes in mostly alphabetical order and separate by era, eg) New 52, Rebirth, Dawn of DC, etc. I say mostly because Batman is king in my collection, and those titles & additional characters are first following additional titles 😂👍. I love your custom shelving they make the volumes look so clean and so nice 🙌🌟💯!! Keep up the great work 👍🌟. All the best!!
thank youuuuuuuuuu! I also have lots of trades and HC comics (big DC fan also) I organize them in sections a little better than manga. BUT we are alike cause the overwhelming majority of my DC is Batman also lolol. Thanks for watching and being a manga and Batman fan haha
A comment since you asked so nicely 😂. Jeleous, I don't yet have enough manga to worry to much about organising. The misses reads fantasy books and so do I but I also started recently reading manga and started a collection
@TheMangaSloth Great video and very relaxing! I like the way you organised the box sets to get the most out of the shelves and gave me ideas for my future shelf setup and many manga to look up later so thanks!!!😊 I own around 150 volumes at the moment and have them setup in one big bookcase since I don't have my own place yet. When you were dragging your fingers across the spines for some reason I said "Zastava"😂 If I could recommend a video idea: short series that are easier to collect for those beginning their collection (maybe up to around 15 volumes?) Keep up the awesome content!🎉😊
Thanks! This was only halfish the collection so you may find more series you want to try in the full collection vid coming soon! 150 is a lot! I have a short series vid in the pipeline just gotta get to it! thx for watching
@@TheMangaSloth Sounds awesome, looking forward to seeing the whole collection!! Also do you like A-do so far? Been thinking of getting into it.. thanks again, take care!
Oooof and this is only halfish (full collection vid coming soon) I only buy in stores when there are super deals where I can get them 30-60% off and then sometimes when I am bored. But mostly online for most things. Gotta save that $$$$$$
Hey man your collection is amazing, I am kinda jealous. I hope I can have one simular in some years. If I may have a question to you tho, where do you normally buy manga off of in bulk, or like a whole series at once? Really apprichiate the answer ty in advance!
Thank you! This is only halfish the collection so full collection vid coming soon! So its rare nowadays for me to buy full series in bulk but I if I am not buying used which I would do a lot I would try to get them from - SciFier (use my code to save more $), Instocktrades, merrymangaco, crunchy or alibris or something like that.
@@TheMangaSloth thx a lot man, loke to look at collections like yours just to admire them, i am right now trying to collect all of nisho ishins works, and plan to buy the deluxe edition of the girl from the other side soon. will be in line waiting for the full collection vid
Watching you organize your collection is very therapeutic. As always, you have an amazing collection! 👍 At the moment, I don't have the room to fully display all my manga, but I would always dream of having my most favorite manga up front and center and do a "shrine" of the sort of a particular series (i.e. figurines of said series, anime vers. if they have one, fan art stuff, etc.). I always love organizing my manga. I love admiring and reminiscing all the series I have accumulated, and the fond memories I've had when reading them. It's been years since I've started reading/collecting manga and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.
Thank yooooooooo I try haha. I did not have room to display much manga many years ago so I know the feeling. You are thinking about it in the right way and better than me! Having memories and how you felt while you organize would be nice! I was in a panic cause I was being buried alive lolol
Thanks! Keep an eye out for the collection vid coming soon cause this was just a fraction of it! I could not do it alphabetically lol it would be the worst moving 1k+ manga every other day lol
the risers or the shelves? I Bought the shelves and the risers are super cheap and easy. just figure out how long and high you want them and then buy the wood lol they cut it for ya and you pt them together and boom you got a riser
your Junji Itto collection is amazing! my first manga was I ever read/bought was Gyo, but unfortunately I haven't collected anymore of his story's (other then Tomie).Manga organization is super satisfying so I know this would be a good video with your collection!
Thanks! I didint show them being put away but I had a bunch more Junji that was going up! If you ever try anymore of his work try Uzumaki. I think its his best work and my fav also I think you will like it! thx for watching
I absolutely love organizing manga to a point I would just take them off the shelf and put them back on again the same exact way whenever I was bored, unfortunately I'm not able to do that now because where I am now I don't have the room, but I can't way for the day I can organize all of my manga again 😭🙏
I love these organization videos, but as someone who organizes purely by alphabetical order the sheer amount of things that need to be shelved is equal parts impressive and daunting. (just thinking about how I'd have to reorganize my entire shelf to accommodate new things with the alphabetical system if I had that many things to shelf is so overwhelming mad props to you for figuring out a different way to organize your stuff)
Hay PL! I have watched some of your vids before good stuff! I would do alphabetical IF someone would do it for me LOL. The thought of 1000s of manga needing moved and shifted every other day makes me want to cry lol. This vid only shows halfish the collection (full collection vid coming real soon) so I do have areas where some sections have some extra sorting but not much outside of ongoing, complete, and siize lol. Thx for watching!
I only got around 330ish volumes and reorganizing even when I only get 1 new volume so all the series are together is a pain, so I can't imagine trying to manage all this with how many new manga you get on the regular. It really is super impressive organization and looks amazing! Sidenote, I recently got all of Ral Grad for like 25ish dollars. Can't really say i have an opinion on it but i saw vol 1 for super cheap at a used bookstore and found the other 3 in super great condition for an absolute steal of a price. Here's hoping it's a good read 🤞. I also got volumes 2&3 of saint young men, definitely looking forward to reading those two and continuing on with the story
Facts with the pain I feel ya. Thats why I put the complete where it wont be moved and then ongoing together cause id die if I had to move even more lol. I have not read Ral but hope you like it. I have frad the first 5 saint yong me and its a deece slice of life type manga
@@TheMangaSloth most of my series are on going so there's really no point in putting the finished one's at the top so I just decided to put my favorites at top I'm honestly shocked to have a series you don't have. I'm sure it happens plenty but it's still weird
Man i have no idea what i would do in your place, i just got my first ever book shelf for mangas and comics and im not even filling up half of them so i have no experience in things like this (btw i really wana recomend "the saga of tanya the evil" because im really enjoying it so far and i think you could give it a try, also another series i wana recomend is "devils candy" its goofy, its funny and it has pretty art style)
Well I bet I would say the same thing if I saw my collection now 10 years ago lol. I have tried tanya manga vol 1 and was not feeling it. Unless it gets sooo much better idk how I feel. I know its up my ally thats why I tried it. Never heard of the other!
@@TheMangaSloth the other series is a funny story that sofar has 4 volume and the 5th comming later on, its about monster kids going to school and having some adventures, the art style is amazing and its also really light hearted
Super cheap and easy didint even cut the wood. home depot lowes etc just buy the wood and they can even cut it for ya. Just measure the length and height you want and boom done ezpz
Wow appriciate that! New collection vid is coming soon which shows off soooooooo much more than this haha. Organizing can be fun but sometimes I let it build up too long!
Such a huge collection has sparked my curiosity: how many of these have you read? I'd be reading none stop and still have 80% of the collection unread 😅
Hey! This is about half the collection I showd. (full collection vid coming soon!) I would say 90%+ of these are read. I dont put manga away or on shelves until they are read in general!
I have like 57 books/manga on my shelf and i really wanna have shelves like this someday😮 Btw in what order are you organizing? I organize mine in alphabetical order by author's name
I do complete and ongoing and then by size. If I did alphabetical or something else it would be the worst. Id have to move thousands of manga every week lol
I just recently started collecting manga and the first series I started collecting was blue lock. Next I'm gonna buy the demon slayer box set (since I really like demon slayer) and I'm gonna get Hunter x hunter and Bleach at some point. But I love watching videos like these because it's always so cool to see just how big a collection of manga can get.
thanks! Great series you are looking at! This vid is about half my collection. I have my 5k+ full collection vid out now if you want to see the rest! Have fun collecting and reading those dope series!
I would enjoy it more if I could have all single shelves but I for sure don't have the space for all the book cases I would need. Question though is there any rhyme or reason to the way you shelve your manga. I'm particial to alphabetical myself probably a bit OCD, also I wish publishers would pick one size and stick with it, kinda made me frustrated when they started coming out with the taller volumes. Not a fan of all the size variations. At this point whats your total manga count and do you use any system to track everything you have, have you ever run into unintentionally purchasing duplicates?
I had the whole 15+ feel as all separate bookcases before and it looked okay but not enough room so this looks better and holds more for sure. BUT I only showd halfish the collection in here so I still have 7+ bookcases lined up holding manga etc. As for the whay I shelve its complete and onging then by size and a few other small ways too. With so many ongoing I could never do alphabetical it would be the worst. I would have to more thousands of books every other day LOL. I do like the 2 size system they generally stick to but some other publishers have a 3rd or 4th height and that is annoying for sure. I have a full collection vid coming very soon so I will let ya see the total count with that (but its a lot!!!) I have bought duplicates and publishers send me manga sometimes I have already bought etc. Thats why I do so many giveaways! sry for the long comment!
@@TheMangaSloth That's awesome then! I cannot imagine the cleaning process if they were to collect more dust 😂. Your collection certainly serves as an inspiration; great work on the video!
What's your organizational schema? Completed VS ongoing I can see, and not mixing heights, but are they then sorted by genre or..? For me I have to put things where they fit 😂 I try to make them look a little nice within that, like I will alternate white and colorful series rather than having a wash of white spines, but I can't even separate by genre the way I'd like lol!
So yes its complete and ongoing and then within them height. But then its kinda just feeling and what I like to display more. Now not shown in the video are a ton of shelves and bookcases that I put some more thought into. But even with complete or ongoing with how much I have I would have to move 1k manga when a new book came in if it was by genre or something. I do want to do more of that when they are complete that for sure!
Oh you have no idea! (full collection vid coming soon this vid just showed some of the collection) I believe in you! Just get the manga you want and enjoy and someday you will be complaining about no space for them lol
In my case, it's less due to incoming volumes, and more due to my tbr. As I read/reread through one or more series in a shelf, I like the display to match that. For example, after completing an arc, I shift those volumes back. That way it's dynamic.
Love the collection and the setup man! I'm looking to do something similar with my manga. Quick question, do you happen to have any names/links for the rail system and brackets you used?
Thanks! This is about half the collection (full collection vid coming soon!) The brackets and wall mounts are the Econoco brand. here are the links -www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TB0DR28/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TH3QJJ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Well this is only a part of the collection I showed (full collection vid coming real soon SOO much more manga haha) Id say 90%+ is read some things not read are some hiatus manga or doubles and obv Japanese stuff. I dont put things away unless they are read. It would be a pain to put all this manga away and not remember whats needed to read lol.
Yeah I saw that and it got fixed! I always mess up something when I am making the vids haha. I do keep all the manga in the boxes cause I need the space!
Complete and not complete then by size and I do have some other ways. Only showed half ish the collection (full collection vid coming very soon) so other shelves not shown have a lil extra sorting
If you mean the tall one I moved them too I just ordered that shelf off amazon. I set the shelf's so they were close so the box sets looked uniform on them.
I don’t mean to sound annoying, but I haven’t seen this series in most manga collectors collections, but do you have/are you collecting the Puella Magi Madoka Magica series? It’s a REALLY good show and manga series and the art is AMAZING!
Omg you have like a whole bookstore how long have you been collecting manga? You also put the east blue box set in behind the skypiea/ water 7 box set for One piece.
You have no idea haha (this is a little over half the collection full collection vid coming soon) Its been over 15 years now. But so many manga have been sold off over the years etc. I did see I mixed the box sets in editing so its fixed now!
Oh yeah for sure. But I mainly organize by ongoing and complete so all the ongoing go together. So if I ever need to I can just remove a series for more room. I did show when leave some space in the video for singles I knew I had. But I have a lot more shelves and bookcases that have empty sections for more series. But I do like the look of close to full on the big wall since it is a backdrop to videos.
I went to timemaster two days ago and picked up vol -14 to bluelock, vol's -10 to 15 to food wars & the dbz viz big editions 3 & 4 with vol's - 7 to 12 in them. And I also got dont toy with me miss nagatoro vol - 17 plus jjba part 3,vol - 8 otw.

From watching your video I'm thinking about getting Soloist in a Cage and maybe Jungle Juice! Great video, I will always watch an organizing video!
Awesome! Hope you like them!
New subscriber here! Im just getting into manga after years of dabbling in watching anime. I am checking out series of manga as I watch the shows, but this is amazing! Definitely hope to check out more of your videos!
yooooooo new sub hypeeee welcome! If you ever have any questions etc just LMK I will help ya out and thx for watching!
This is so satisfying!🥺 Congrats its an amazing collection. I love reading and collecting manga too 😊
Thanks! this is about half the collection. The full 5k+ collection vid is live! Reading and collecting manga is great I agree!
I could not do it alphabetically lol It would kill me when the ongoing series come in haha
I rewatched the video and am curious- what would those plug outlets in the shelves be used for?
Its a wall lol so all walls have outlets. It was just a wall in the house before I put up shelves
@@TheMangaSloth lol. Thought so, but asked anyways in case you were planning fairy lights or something like that.
@@MyTripLore Nahhh but if I ever wanted to I guess I could haha
Yay kindness haha. Well thats great so many awesome manga you can hopefully try and love! Also fantasy is a great genre so hype to that!
I love manga it’s awesome also how long have you been collecting??? you have a lot of manga
heck yeah manga is great! Id say 15+ years now. Also this is halfish the collection (full collection coming soon!)
@@TheMangaSlothalright cool!
@@georgepapanikolaou6965 Oh yeah I really enjoyed A-DO so far! If you try It I hope you like it also!
did you buy out a manga store or what because that amount of manga is just wow
Oooof and this is only halfish (full collection vid coming soon) I only buy in stores when there are super deals where I can get them 30-60% off and then sometimes when I am bored. But mostly online for most things. Gotta save that $$$$$$
Dude your collection is amazing!!!
This is only halfish!!! Full collection vid coming soon!! Thank you!
At the moment, I don't have the room to fully display all my manga, but I would always dream of having my most favorite manga up front and center and do a "shrine" of the sort of a particular series (i.e. figurines of said series, anime vers. if they have one, fan art stuff, etc.).
Box sets look great where you put them.
Awesome! Glad others think they dont look janky there!
Great video, love the collection! I always set my manga collection in alphabetical on my shelves.
Thanks! Keep an eye out for the collection vid coming soon cause this was just a fraction of it! I could not do it alphabetically lol it would be the worst moving 1k+ manga every other day lol
Can you show us how you make these shelves
the risers or the shelves? I Bought the shelves and the risers are super cheap and easy. just figure out how long and high you want them and then buy the wood lol they cut it for ya and you pt them together and boom you got a riser
It was so relaxing watching this
thanks! I was trying to go that route
your Junji Itto collection is amazing! my first manga was I ever read/bought was Gyo, but unfortunately I haven't collected anymore of his story's (other then Tomie).Manga organization is super satisfying so I know this would be a good video with your collection!
Haha I dont know if I love it that much but I understand. I am sure you will have more room and ways to display them sometime!
Bro, living my dream 😅
You can make your dream come true! I believe in you!
@@TheMangaSloth Oh wow thank you!
ONLY HALFISH OF THE COLLECTION? That's truly impressive! I'm looking forward to the full collection video!
Do any of you enjoy organizing your manga collection?
Its one of my favourite things to do with my manga
I do. I like trying out ideas and getting creative with it.
I haven’t had to do it yet. I have a very small collection right now but I’m sure I’ll have to by the end of the year.
Mine is too small 😢
yes, it's relaxing. i'm just scared that my boxsets might be too heavy for my bookshelf lol
@@TheMangaSloth most of my series are on going so there's really no point in putting the finished one's at the top so I just decided to put my favorites at top
I'm honestly shocked to have a series you don't have. I'm sure it happens plenty but it's still weird
Oh you kidding me haha there are a zillion manga I dont have!
@@TheMangaSloth I'm sure there are but pretty much every series I've ever seen or even heard of you have. Except negima I think 🤔
How’d you make those risers? Any specific places to get the wood?
Super cheap and easy didint even cut the wood. home depot lowes etc just buy the wood and they can even cut it for ya. Just measure the length and height you want and boom done ezpz
12:32 intensive manga patting
you gotta do it lol
Your collection is god-tier!! I hope to one day reach your level!!! Also I love reorganizing my manga, it's part of the fun of collecting for me😅
Wow appriciate that! New collection vid is coming soon which shows off soooooooo much more than this haha. Organizing can be fun but sometimes I let it build up too long!
@@TheMangaSloth can't wait to see the updated tour!!
How long you been collecting for? I love manga through reading tons of series online and hope to start collecting soon.
Ahhh 15+ years now. Hope you enjoy collecting!
Yay my favorite kind of videos 😊
yesssssssssssssss
I have like 57 books/manga on my shelf and i really wanna have shelves like this someday😮
Btw in what order are you organizing?
What's the dusting/cleaning process like with such an expansive collection?
Well I dont dust/clean much honestly. Maybe 1 time a year lightly with a swiffer duster. They just dont get dusty or dirty haha.
@@TheMangaSloth That's awesome then! I cannot imagine the cleaning process if they were to collect more dust 😂. Your collection certainly serves as an inspiration; great work on the video!
@@TheMangaSloth oh do you ise an air filter or air purifier? I know humidifier is thing but it's a whole other thing not regarding dust
Nope just have hvac and I dont need a dehumidifier etc. They just dont get dusty lol I do use good filters so maybe thats why idk
This video makes me wanna have more manga!
Haha nooooooooo I am making you want to spend money!!
I do want to do more of that when they are complete that for sure!
yo bro your collection is really sick, that mustve been a huge amout of money, I love manga and wish i had something like yours.
Oh you have no idea! (full collection vid coming soon this vid just showed some of the collection) I believe in you! Just get the manga you want and enjoy and someday you will be complaining about no space for them lol
Your collection is huge man great collection ❤
Thanks!! This is halfish full collection vid coming soon!
@@TheMangaSlothThat's soo crazy man I will wait for your upcoming video
Geez it’s huge! I want to have a huge manga collection but I wasn’t thinking that big-😅
And this is only half! (full collection vid coming soon!) LOL idk if I was planning to have a collection this big either haha
Branching out into ASMR and I’m here for it.😂
Next one I will scream at my mic when im organizing lol
I also have been staring at and rearranging my books in multiple cycles.
Oh yeah I have 600+ books just sitting and waiting to be put away so I am delaying that too much lol
In my case, it's less due to incoming volumes, and more due to my tbr. As I read/reread through one or more series in a shelf, I like the display to match that. For example, after completing an arc, I shift those volumes back. That way it's dynamic.
@@MyTripLore Yeah I dont put things away/on shelves until they are read. The 600+ are all read im just suuuuper slow at putting them away lol
Love the collection and the setup man! I'm looking to do something similar with my manga. Quick question, do you happen to have any names/links for the rail system and brackets you used?

The collection is amazing! Just wondering if you actually read every book you buy or just collect some
Well this is only a part of the collection I showed (full collection vid coming real soon SOO much more manga haha) Id say 90%+ is read some things not read are some hiatus manga or doubles and obv Japanese stuff. I dont put things away unless they are read. It would be a pain to put all this manga away and not remember whats needed to read lol.

you put one piece box set 2 before the first 1 and also do you keep your manga in the boxes because i like to take the manga out
Yeah I saw that and it got fixed! I always mess up something when I am making the vids haha. I do keep all the manga in the boxes cause I need the space!
@@TheMangaSloth makes sense
So you are basically organizing them by size? Was wondering to going alfabetically on my col

Mindblowing🤯 i only have 5% of all your collection😊

Do you leave space for ongoing manga for next vol ???
This vid is half ish the collection (full vid coming very soon!) So I talk about placement etc but you can see in this video I have room for more!
It literally looks like a book store aisle😂
Oh it looks better than a bookstore lol plus better selection haha
Do you ever leave spaces for series you will continue to collect or do you not like how that looks? Thanks
@@TheMangaSloth Thanks for explaining.
I spent the whole video trying to figure out if the nox sets where empty or not 😭😭
they are full! I dont show the whole collection this is about halfish (full vid coming soon) But I keep them in boxes to save space!
Wonder if they will make Dragon Ball Super boxset as well as Boruto because it's basically part of a franchise that is already getting boxsets!
I would think they would for super for sure. Not sure on boruto but I bet they would for it also
I need those shelves were those inbuilt or did you get those yourself cause this is insane
