GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK BOB BOB I HAVE DISCOVERD SOME NEW AERIAS FOR YOUR ADVENTURE AND YOU SHOULD CONSIDER PETERBROUGH AERIA THERES A LOT OF GOOD SPOT UPTHERE FOR YOUR ADVENTURER
Hello hope your well. I'm looking to have a second home in Muskoka area or surrounding lakes The only thing that bothers me is will I be lonely? Do people keep to themselves over there or are they social? What is the highest populated town in those areas. Thanks for the uploads, helps me understand the life better. All the best to you and your family. U.K
Hi Bob - what cover do you use that accommodates the Garmin? Is it the Fish Pro, or are you just stretching it over the Garmin mount? I installed the 7in touch screen model - using Sea Doo mounts - but I also installed the HD transducer for depth, water temp, side scan (not needed - I don't fish) and high resolution depth. Super nice set up and works up to 45 mph. Also, since Navionics is owned by Garmin, I also downloaded the Navionics maps - ocean, river and lakes! - which provides big detail and auto-navigation based on your parameters. I forget what the detailed map cost but it's on the Garmin website. I installed the unit myself, bought the mount and hardware from Sea Doo, and the Garmin from Bass Pro (on sale!!), all for about US$ 725. It took me most of the day to install everything, including the transducer. Thanks FYI - I appreciate your videos and the work you put into them.
Don, I’m considering installing the same 7” Garmin using the mirror mount. Is the Garmin firmly held in place using this mount? Also wondering where and how you mounted the transducer as I’d really like to have depth readings. Any other pertinent info would be appreciated.
@@iananderson7569 Hi - the mirror mount works incredibly well. The downside is you have to stretch the covers over the mounting plate to the point the cover looks like it might tear. But so far, it hasn't. The 7" model fits the mount extremely well and is secure. Its almost difficult to remove after a ride. The wiring is super easy. I mounted the transducer (highly recommended and cannot imagine not using it now) on the rear, left hand side of the hull. The rounded part of the transducer just barely sits below the hull line. I originally mounted it lower and well within the water, but at speeds of 20mph or higher, it will create enough drag and pull you to the left. Even now, I have to adjust the steering to pull slightly right, so off-set the drag. If you need pics, let me know and we'll figure out how to post them. In any event, knowing water depth in shallow Florida rivers, intra-coastal and even the Gulf, is super important.
@@don_sharon I’m glad it is working well for you. I’m hoping to mount the transducer inside the hull knowing that I’ll lose the water temperature feature. Not sure however if this is possible on the GTI plastic polytec 2 hull. I’m hoping too that the Garmin won’t block the Seadoo display.
Hey Bob. Just picked up a brand new Seadoo GTX300. Already put 5 hrs on her over the weekend. They really are amazing machines. I noticed you don’t under the Seadoo orange snap in fender bumpers. You should definitely get them.
Thanks for sharing another great video Bob! With most of the docks going to steel and being built higher in Muskoka now, i just carry full size boat bumbers pre rigged with ropes and that stops your machine from going under the docks and stops the rubber strip from scrapping on the side of docks.
They would certainly work better than those seadoo bumpers which won’t prevent the seadoo from sliding under a dock edge. Issue there is tha you have to carry them and they are bulky.
What everyone else has said, I picked up the past version of this and you had to load Navionics maps for the region or lake you want to an SD card, then load on to your GPS. Makes a huge difference on level of detail. I also always turned on the option where it drew my route so I could always get back to my boat launch on lakes I was less familiar. Great video!
Hi Bob, once you down load the finer detail maps, you wont need your Navionics hopefully. We have the 2021 Seadoo Fish Pro and was navigating our way up a river on our maiden voyage and the Garmin went spare, less than half a meter depth in a wide mud sea channel on an out going tide, Garmin saved us and got us back in the narrow 20 mtr channel. Happy navigating. Have you been in salt water yet over the years.
Hi Bob. Quick question regarding your Garmin. Did the mounting bracket come with the Garmin or did you have to purchase that separately? I am ordering a 2023 RXT-X from Quinn's with the Garmin however when I asked them if the mounting bracket came with the Garmin unit...they weren't sure. I can't seem to find any info on the internet. Thanks.
I had it installed by BRP dealership in Uxbridge. It’s a special bracket for Seadoo’s and they sell it. It fits into one of the mirror mounts. You can buy it from Seadoo.
In addition to the Higher Level Maps you can download for the Garmin, I'd also recommend downloading and installing the updates to the unit itself via an SD Card. That fixed several bugs I had on mine when I first got it.
@@bobsudeyko4088 perfect! Thanks I will check into it. If you are looking for some company on one of your adventures just give me a heads up and I can meet you.
Great video. What is your preference for trailering with or without the cover? Notice you do both. And do you use anything other than the clips to tie down?
If it isn’t raining or dusty I will often not bother with the cover. I only use the cover with the clips provided on the cover. I find with the Garmin gps mount the cover is tight but workable. Having said all this the plastics on the seadoo is not of the highest quality and will show scuffing marks if there is lots of rubbing

In your white box for your GPS, look for a green card from Garmin. It tells you how to get a free detailed map. Ask your dealership. There are RUclips videos on how to install it.
Yes I have seen that and I have the code for the fee seadoo map download. I have linked the phone and the Garmin but can’t seem to navigate to where I enter that code. I need to play with it some more. You think it would be more intuitive though.
@@bobsudeyko4088 You go to the Garmin webpage and walk thru as you would purchasing the map. Then enter the code into the discount code box. You will need a microSD card and their download their program. Here is a link to get the map and to set it up. By the way. Hello from Chicago. ruclips.net/video/XPJ51EzkViQ/видео.html
I have the same Garmin on my boat! Don’t forget Garmin owns Navionics! So the Garmin unit will have everything you need to navigate through any of our water ways in Ontario! Happy boating!
Great video Bob ! So excited to see the Skydio back in action but sad to hear about Air 2S.. Oh Well as it had a good run with you since mid 2021 i believe !
Just over two years which is why there is no longer any warranty coverage. It happens if you do it long enough. The problem is that over water there is no retrieval.
Before I start, I am fully aware of the rules of the water. However, there is also some etiquette to consider. For example, going to close to people's docks/property, including parking in knee deep water only a few feet from someone's private beach. I know its "legal" but I am sure home owners wouldn't appreciate it. I know for me if a guy in a jet ski parked right in front of my beach and launched a drone and started filming I wouldn't appreciate the privacy invasion and I am sure many people would feel the same. Just a thought... many people don't care about how they respect or make others feel but you strike me as someone else who would.
Well S you say people don’t own the water in front of their cottage. I had already lost one drone a few hours earlier that day and I was going to retrieve the 2nd one while standing in shallow water and not off the Seadoo. I think you are over thinking the situation a bit. People are pretty understanding unless you are hovering over people in bating suits on their property. A lot of it is common sense. I know the lines not to cross and I would question if that was one of them. You might see it differently and that’s okay too.
Feeling a bit homesick and this vid cheered me up so much! So many good memories up there!
Glad to hear it.

The cover is the standard one that came with the Seadoo. It has a zipper that I unzip that allows the cover to go over the Garmin mount.

Only in Alaskas when I used to live in the Yukon.
Would the Garmin sonar edition work when mounting the transducer in the engine compartment?
I’d kinda like depth readings.
I enjoyed the video.
Not sure on that one but the seadoo has an active depth finder
As per my dealership, if you want the depth readings from garmin, you need to remove Seadoo Depth Finder as they both gets install on the same spot !

How long it takes for this seado to be empty
Thanks for the great video Bob. What is the name of the boat launch you put in at? I wouldn't mind making the drive up there at some point. 😎
I believe it’s just the town launch in Baysville. Can’t really miss it. Right at where the river comes into the lake. Just across the bridge.

I think the map set you need is the Canada Inland Maps. It sometimes comes preloaded but you should be able to download it.
