    This is why my dream kid goats would come from her and blue cactus, because they breed for more than just pretty colors... Cricket trying to jump over her pen just like her grandma did years ago 😂😂😂 it's funny that some things stay the same!

    The fat is not emulsifying in the freeze dried milk when you rehydrate it. Just blend it in a blender and you’ll be fine.

    • @terrych6175
      @terrych6175 8 месяцев назад +3

      I was thinking the same thing. And when the fat clumps up it clumps the milk proteins.

    • @Selena3williams
      @Selena3williams 8 месяцев назад

      Could warming it each at each feeding liquify the fat?

  • @jasminesquibb4503

    You may need to blend it. I have a protein powder I have to use a blender to mix because with a shaker bottle left clumps.

    Any ethical breeder would only breed for the best genetic not cute color or personality. Even though color and personality might be fun - - the body conformation and udder are way more important in the health and longevity of the goat. Your channel and other channel have taught me so much about goats. Back then I was all about the colors and cute personality but now I have come to learn the value in ethical breeding. Proud of where your herd have come! ❤

    Try using a stick blender to mix your freeze drid milk with, that should incorporate it completely. It may be the buterfat that is causing the problem, and a stick blender may work wonders.

    Kinda funny for the teats because the momma I have has 4 teats like her mom, and I figured (like her mom) the extras wouldn't work well she had her kids the week after Cricket was born and come to find out she has 4 working teats. I wish there had been more bottle babies around because her udder was massive, and she could have easily had 4 kids on her.

    Try rehydrating the milk a while before it’s needed. Like a couple of hours before, with warm (little more than lukewarm) water. Dehydrating items take longer to rehydrate than you think, and I’m sure you know all this! When I rehydrate veggies or hash browns, I always forget to add the time needed to get them all rehydrated - it’s always more than you think!

I hope she goes up in production; she's such a nice looking doe. As some others suggest, you need to blend the milk to get all the proteins emulsified. I've had this actually happen with mixing milk in some drinks that may be too acidic, but it also happens often with frozen milk. Sometimes you just have to physically mix it to get it all evened out again, often a lot more then what you can achieve with mixing by hand if you want to do so fast. I'd recommend a small milk frother that can quickly blend it up if you are just doing small amounts.

    I didn't know that about the Malt... When I was pregnant with my 1st, I craved chocolate malts and had them all the time. As a tiny woman, typically 98 lbs and a 32 A in a bra... 3 days after I gave birth, I lost all the baby weight & went back down to 98lbs... (I only gained 17 & 1/2 lbs) but when the milk came in, I had to wear my sisters 36 D bra's. and everyone called me Dolly Parton, lol. Guess that's what all those Malts did.

    About the freeze dried milk I don't really know why it's clumpy and I haven't used it but what I would guess is maybe you should try an immersion blender. Maybe if you blend the milk with the water it can give it a chance to emulsify again. The milk when freezedried is probably left with the milk proteins and the fats. So the fats don't mix easily with water and they might be clumping up with some of the proteins and shaking it up in the jar mey be not enough for the emulsion to accur.

  • @jane4678

    Ok, IMO, u could try this method. 1st, do u use an oxygen absorber in your storage container for your freeze dried milk? 2nd: Is that storage container glass? (I think u should be using chilled tempered glass to store it.) 3rd: r u usng chilled water for reconstitution? It is best to prevent separation. 4th: maybe try a food processor... It may work to help blend the solids with the water. 5th: soak mixture in chilled environment, blending until it is smooth.. Warmth and heat cause separation.
    **Just like making good pie dough requires chilling, repeated chilling along the way...from chilled flour to the chilled butter...
    So, chill the freshly "sqeezed" milk IMMEDIATELY after milking, do not warm or heat the milk, it changes the whey protein in the milk & wont smooth out, ever.
    ***Do not warm the reconstituted milk in microwave, only double boiler type scenario, never over-warming. (chill food processor parts) to reconstitute. Freshest milk is best to use.
    ❤❤all know on this subject❤❤. I love u all so much ! I miss the young adults being around but glad they are off doing college sruff! ❤❤Much love and support from NE Okla!❤❤
    You are the best!

    I had three first fresheners. Just gave birth yesterday. Jenelle had 4, Wren had 3, and Sekelga had 6. I insemination them each twice during their heat cycle. Really surprised 😮
    I give my does malted barley syrup to bring in their milk 🥛
    To reconstitute freeze-dried milk, add about 1 to 1 1/3 cup of milk powder (75 to 100 grams) to a quart mason jar and then fill the jar with cold water. Shake vigorously until dissolved, about 30 seconds.
