pgj1997 tbf, there are a couple legitimate differences from puyo and mean bean machine, as they pointed out. Mean bean has 5 colors while normal puyo only has 4. Mania emulates mean bean in this regard
i do not remember metal sonic boss like this… where is the bossfight where metal sonic receives the Emerald and turns into this giant version? did i miss something?
in the act 2 hydrocity boss phase 2 or the boss in sonic 3 hydrocity zone i have a technique that i havent seen used in any sonic mania/sonic 3 speedruns or playthroughs so maybe i could get the patent one day but the technique is once eggman tries to spin you in the water, mash the spindash while facing right when he is about to do itand once you are off screen slowly mash the left arrow/left button and you will be hitting him alot while he tries to get you trapped in the water, I think this technique should be used more often in speedruns of sonic 3/mania.
Really wanted to watch this during the marathon but unfortunately I had work. Really cool run. After that I think I'm going to go replay Sonic Mania again.
i actually liked this one more than the old ones because its not so much focused on glitchs, i mean there is a couple of them but the older games like sonic 3, man that is pure crazyness

I have a love-hate relationship with Mania. When I played Generations and Forces he was much harder to control than Modern Sonic. But this was still an awesome run! Edit: Did I fail to mention that in Generations the Classic levels took almost twice as long as the Modern ones for me?

William Knight Yeah, Spike can be really loud, but his commentary is really clear and consistent, and he has a great sense of humour. He should couch for more runs with awkward or quiet Speedrunners so I can actually understand what's happening.

The sonic 1 boss in metallic madness is much easier in mania since the pistons vibrate before extending

Flying Battery Is hell for a child/me. Took TEN days to clear.
Good thing a certain glitch did not happen in the battery. If you slow down in 31:52 to 31:54 you will go backward and glitch through a bar.
