  • Whats up!
    In this video I am installing a aRacer RC mini 2 full standalone ECU with a AF1 wideband module that Autotunes the ECU. I go over some things that confused me before I ended up picking one of these up. I used to have a Power Commander 5 with the WB02 on my old bike. So far I am digging this aRacer. I will have some riding footage once I am able to fix my Go Pro. If you have any doubt on how to use this system, I would say pick up the AF1 with the aRacer or wait until you have both if you are unable to get a map for the bike or have someone tune it.

    does AF1 have 0-5v analog output which can be used in other ecu or datalogger?

      I think you would have to buy their data logger module from aRacer and that would pair with the AF1. Still would probaly have to pick up the 4 cable spitter as well.

    Hey bro , I've a question
    The af1 o2 sensor is replace the original? or need both?
    Do i need drilled another holes on exhaust pipe for af1 sensor?
    thanks!

      The AF1 02 sensor replaces the original. The stock 02 sensor is in the head so you will have to get a 02 bung on your exhaust. (Steady Garage welded one in my Tyga when I ordered one as did DingerBuilt when he made my exhuast).

    I have the AR exhaust with the DB killer removed and took the outter snorkel out of the airbox. I’m hearing some popping during deceleration and feel like I might be running to lean. This tool will allow you to tune the bone correct? Is it just as good as the power commander 5?

    • @oneSMALLgarage
      @oneSMALLgarage  6 лет назад

      yea sounds like you might be running a little lean. I was all stock when I added my exhaust and had pops during deceleration and during shifts when I got into the gears. Yes this is a full standalone ECU so you have more tuning options then the Power commander 5. I waited until I got my AFR so I just simply turned on Autotune so I didn't risk a chance of my motor running lean. ( as far as the power commander, I ran it with a WB02 as well so I didnt have to worry about updating my maps).

      oneSMALLgarage this sounds so awesome I want it so bad but unfortunately I have no idea what I’m doing with that stuff so I feel like I’ll do more harm than good but I know my bike needs it :(. Is it bad for the bike running like this ? I have exactly what you had. Popping during Decel and shifting :(

      Honestly it's super easy. You just turn on autotune and really just drive the bike around for a bit to let it adjust to the mods you have, if you have quite a bit of mods. Let the bike get up to 80°C that's when autotune actually starts adjusting and then you'll be good.
      Could try resetting your stock ECU now to see if that helps any.

      oneSMALLgarage i did but I need to drive it around a little more to see if it helps. So the auto tune comes with the ARacer itself of do I need the AFI you have ?

    • @oneSMALLgarage
      @oneSMALLgarage  6 лет назад

      No the autotune (AFR) does not come with the aRacer rc mini2, you need to pick that up separately. It's a bit much at first but once you get it it's kinda a set it and forget it type thing, it's pretty nice but I end up tweaking with it all the time haha.

    Can you run the aRacer mini by itself or do you need the AF1 and all those adaptors ?

    • @oneSMALLgarage
      @oneSMALLgarage  6 лет назад

      yes you can, as long as you have a good map to what mods you have, you'll be good. the AFR is like the WB02 to the power commander, I just prefer using it with the AFR so you can monitor the the engine while your beating on it haha...

    do you need two or four plugs for the splitter? i have the mini 5 a racer

    • @oneSMALLgarage
      @oneSMALLgarage  4 года назад

      If they have a two plug splitter that is all you will need for the wideband, they only had a 4 plug splitter at the time of this.

    Is the money worth it for this for the grom ?

      What type of mods do you have (or plan to have) for the bike?

    Did you figure out if connecting directly to the battery drains it over time?

    • @oneSMALLgarage
      @oneSMALLgarage  6 лет назад +1

      No it does not. I got lazy of unplugging it each time so I left it plugged in and did not ride the bike for just over a week. Started right up without issue. I think it just needs the solid voltage for the correct wideband signal.

      Thanks for the quick reply. I'll be installing my ARacer RC Mini 5 +AF-1 tomorrow on my Super 125 build. I'm anxious to see how it does now that I'm replacing the FinBro ECU. Felt like it ran like crap with the FinBro installed, which makes sense considering what it is. I decided to pay the money and do it right.

      No problem, haven't ran a Finbro ECU but heard good things, I ran a PCV with a WB02. A couple things with this ECU I noticed, you can feel a difference before 80°C and after 80°C(the autotune kicks on at 80°C) and if you have an aftermarket temp gauge the temp display will be off. (aRacer has a temp display on the controller) unless they fixed this with the 5 but I'm not sure.

    Why not Hoedar.

    • @oneSMALLgarage
      @oneSMALLgarage  6 лет назад

      I've never heard of this ECU before (That supercharger kit looks pretty interesting) From what I have been reading online and the forums, the fuel management systems people went with were PowerCommander, BAZZAZ, and aRacer, some finbro too but since I already ran a PCV, I've heard nothing but good things about aRacer.

    • @steadygarage

      Hoedar is a great ECU, it's more comparable to the ARacer RC1, but you would need to have a lot of knowledge with tuning. Also you would need a Laptop to tune, whereas the ARacer RC Mini Plus 2 is tuned with the included controller, which means you could tune anywhere and anytime without the need to carry a laptop. ARacer is also much more simple, so you could make adjustments with ease. If you want to make more advance adjustments, then you could use the iLink cable and use your laptop, otherwise, the basic is all on the controller.
