Doesn't Too Many Bones have boss specific cards that are added in every game? Strange that they didn't think of that mechanic when initially designing Victorum.
I am guessing something like a persistent negative effect which escalates as you progress up in Act (unique to each scion) would be nicer rather than the random draw of scion influence. Unfortunately the game is probably already balanced using the card effects, and introducing persistent negative effect on top of what is on the card will probably make the game impossible.
Personally I don’t think it’s worth owning both. I did. Ended up selling both. Just didn’t click with me unfortunately. Of this 2 I think I’d recommend remastered since I didn’t like the 3:19 and length of the Victorum campaign. With the new “Quicktorum” mode maybe Victorum has improved.
Trying to understand your perspective - the Scion is the end-boss, right? Doesn’t this expansion give you optikn to face any of the scions at any poibt, earning bonus skills/abilities by defeating a scion at the expense of making rest of game more challenging? Sounds like that would have a significant impact on a player’s experience with the scion(s). Thx for your initial take!
The Scion is only ever faced as the final boss fight. This expansion adds additional Bloodshed/Sporting events and Opportunities which are specific to whichever Scion you are fighting e.g. If facing the Hydra you'll shuffle the Hydra specific event/opportunities into their respective decks. These events/opportunities tend to be more difficult than standard ones, or provide specific rewards or access to chips that you won't get facing any other Scion. However these can simply be skipped via spectating like any others. Otherwise there is no overbearing influence felt throughout the campaign like some have hoped. I think this would require specific gameplay changes that could be difficult to implement, or at least require quite a bit of testing/balancing. I can imagine it might be neat to have new rules for all encounters when facing specific Scions, so that not only is a combat unique based on the event card, but also the special rules per Scion. Maybe this will be seen in future content!
@robertcone613 you get to face Primuses whenever you move to a Capital location in the updated quick rules, and you aren't limited to just 3 so could face as many as you like. The Scion is still faced at the end. In the original you could still face a Primus early if you move into their Capital location but that would end the current Act so it was wiser to wait until week 12 so that your hero had time to upgrade their stats & prowess. In the quick version you aren't forced to face a Primus at the end of an act and can avoid them entirely however that will make the Scion fight extremely difficult.

Victorum is calling my name but I'm curious what people think about Remastered too. Can anyone comment on their opinions of Remastered?

Doesn’t give me warm and fuzzies about paying $485 for all in pledge!
