  • Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! RUclips's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we'll take an up close and personal, in depth look at the newly refreshed, 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE.
    MSRP pricing for the 1LE, before options, begins at:
    1LE SS: ~$37,300
    Price as shown: ~$43,600
    During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
    FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will find in depth educational videos of automobiles from all over the world, presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my presentations. I treat every vehicle with the same respect whether a 1960 Chevrolet Impala SS or the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new, exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. I wanted to share my love for the automotive world with the rest of the world. Be sure to explore the massive video variety, have fun and enjoy The Driver's Seat of RUclips!

    Honestly, I don't know what people are talking about, I think this refreshed Camaro looks even more aggressive than the previous one. I still think the interior could be laid out better though, Mustang has a better laid out interior in my opinions, but if I was in the market for these type of cars right now, I'd go straight to this Camaro.

      The problem is that it look more "racer" than "muscle" (imo at least)

    • @rousseau327
      @rousseau327 10 лет назад +4

      herptiyderpity the rear tail lights everyone has been complaining about harks back to old Camaros, so to say it looks less muscle is misinformed.

      No, I love everything about the new camaros... Not enough to give up my 85, but they look mean from the front, back, and sides.

      0090cl
      Yeah but the new Camaro is fairly smaller than the old 2013 Camaro. Also the 2013 Camaro has a 6.2L engine, whilst the 2014 Camaro gets a 5.7L, also the 2013 gets a deeper exhaust sound and looks more beastly than this ugly excuse of a Camaro. This 2014 is less American by Chevrolet making it smaller and lighter. It is still just about as fast as the 2013 though.

    • @tiestoXIV
      @tiestoXIV 10 лет назад +21

      5.7 liter?, where do you come up with that. They still have the 6.2 liter.

    i love the new rear tail lights. the 2010-2013 were just to simple to me and look like they belong on a vette. the new ones really look more like camaro tail lights of back in the day

    I don't like what they've done with the new Camaros. They all look like ZL1s now, especially the front end. That was probably the best thing about the ZL1 was the menacing looks that set it apart from the other Camaros. Now most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference unless you told them or they looked under the hood. The ZL1 is less special now since it looks like a regular Camaro. The front end of the new Camaro isn't bad but the back.... Chevy just screwed that up. It just looks too flat and basic.

      Well the real reason for redesigning the camaro is because ford is coming out with the new mustang soon and dodge is coming out with the cuda to replace the challenger. So Chevy wanted to get a jump on the competition and try and attract those early buyers.

    I have this same car without Recaros. Mines a 2015, with the optional exhaust.... A MUST!!! I just bought it a few months ago (February 2020) with 500 original miles. It’s basically brand new. The orig owner left the hood blackout decal off. I am glad, as I live in Az. and flat black decals do NOT fare well in our ungodly heat and sunlight. I also have a ‘16 Stingray with the same 6.2 motor in it. The Stingray is rated at 465 with the optional “dual mode” exhaust, and my 1LE is detuned from that, even with its upgraded exhaust....so the HP is not enough for the Camaro’s weight. But........the car is plenty fast and handles like a Go-Cart! All in all, I’m in love with the 1LE package. I have five cars, and this one is one of the sexiest ones I own. It’s a looker with the red paint, and commands respect at gas stations and car shows. I removed the rear gold bow tie, and painted the front bow tie matte black. Replaced the Alcantara shift knob with a white cue ball, and added chrome 1LE emblems to both sides of the hood bulge. It looks really unique, and is loads of fun to drive!!!

    WTF did Chevy do with the rear end? It's like they just gave up on it... @ 3:13 look how half the bumper is just plastic and how boring the tail lights are...
    I'm also upset with the curb weight of this car weighing almost 4,000 lbs... (3,860). That's a heavy friggin' car for a two door coupe. At first I was like "wow 426hp... not bad", but then I did research and found the weight of this thing. That means for every 9 pounds, there is one horsepower. I don't like that ratio too much :/ Of course I'm looking at this from a pure performance aspect and not a livability aspect, but hey, the performance model of car isn't supposed to be for comfort, it's supposed to be for track times no? I feel the 'performance' edition of a car should be, less luxury/livability features and more performance features.
    For a MSRP of around $37k (I may be wrong on that number), it's honestly a good car, I just feel like performance and MPG can be improved by SO MUCH if the damn thing weighed less. It's a 2 door coupe, it shouldn't be near 4k lbs :/ Just my two cents.
    Otherwise cool car. Just not for me, hopefully next year or future models will get it right, but this one just didn't in my opinion.

      To be honest all modern ponies are around the same weight. Its more about comfort even on performance cars on almost all of them nowadays as well. I guess car companies want to build well rounded all purpose cars so people won't feel like these cars are just "mid life crisis" events in life. But that's just a thought.

      Me too! What price and mileage are you looking at? I’m looking at one for 23k with 95k miles. It’s super optioned though and it was only owned by one owner. I’m thinking about negotiating the price 2k down

    When Chevy finally wraps that LS3 around a real platform like the E92 ///M3 they'll be selling like nobody's business! Until they realize their radical concept styling poor mans corvette b.s needs to go don't ever expect to outsell Mustangs.

      Have you drove a camaro and a mustang before? I have a 14 camaro SS and was thinking about trading it in for a mustang. Within 10 seconds of the test drive I turned around because it doesn't handle near as good. IMO the mustang interior and handling is cheaper made. A V8 mustang finishes a 1/4 mile what a half second quicker than an SS? My suggestion is go test drive the Mustang you want, and then directly after go test drive a Camaro. You should notice a big difference. Just my 2 cents.

    • @SoEpicreviews
      @SoEpicreviews 10 лет назад

      yes my first time driving as a teen was the 2001 mustang svt cobra it was a sweet take off i was the youngest kid in my high school with a mustang in 2001 that cost $28,605 in 2001 it was all white convertable then in 2005 tested a camero z-28 made me love chevy then 2013 test the gt5000 supercar at a race track got it up to 140 but the owner said it could do 200mph it was a lighter car

    • @0090cl
      @0090cl 10 лет назад +4

      jon204 Gt500 needs a significant stretch of road to actually hit that 200mph off the showroom floor. I agree with Jacob, the new camaro handles extremely well for the amount that it weighs. The ZL1 and GT500 have even been reviewed side by side and the result was the same, the camaro just handles better. Most would argue that the mustang is faster. Stock for stock yes. But speed is about how much money you throw at your car. So get the one that handles well (camaro) and throw the money you'd save, by not buying the stang, into it, and you speed won't be an issue anymore.

    • @YOSHI450R

      Knallkoper Morder
      Or you could actually read the entirety of my comment and realize what you just said made no sense if you were replying directly to ME. I said the camaro handles better, use the rest of the money (that you saved NOT buying the stang) and throw it into the engine and speed will not be an issue. If you can afford a ZL1, you can afford a Gt500. So your comment is null and void.

      How is a 450 HP Camero that has all the technology money could buy for that price range a disgrace? This shit's all over the old Camero's. My friend has a 2013 Camaro SS. It's break neck fast. Useless in the Winter though. Even if there was no snow on the road when you left and it started snowing on your way home.. you would be in the shit.

      lairdriver nope my 3rd gen would crush it , im about to install a ls1 engine in it with some more performance parts after i total the cost of the car with the engine swap and all the up grades id at the very least hand with the 5th gen but my cost would at least be 8 grand cheaper , the only thing you got is more technology wich i give 2 craps about cause less is better tech is for euro trash cars, just my opinion bro

    • @mak450
      @mak450 10 лет назад +2

    • @HorseRancher92
      @HorseRancher92 10 лет назад +1

      mak450 whatever, theres nothing wrong with fixing your car, especially since the 2nd 3gen and 4ths are more aero-dynamic than the 5th which cannot cut through the wind, even a 00-02 camaro can keep up with the 5ths, and please dont even bring a ricer in the same convo as a maro

    • @mak450
      @mak450 10 лет назад

      HorseRancher92 Who said there was anything wrong with "fixing"(that ain't actually fixing, but whatever...) your car? I definitely didn't. And I only mention ricers because you sound just like one. "Oh my modded Civic beats Camaros all the time etc etc" What's the real difference between what you just said and that?
      I'm aware of the rear airflow issues that plagued the earlier 5th gens, but even with that I'd bet my house that the 2nd and 3rd gen cars are worse aerodynamically, maybe not the 4th.

    Give the Camaro's Tail lights to the vette & you knew this was bound to happen.. Plain ugly @ss tail lights for Camaro... Looks like Chevrolet stole them from a 1993 Lexus SC 400

    • @manolo19991

      @rweghg3 10 лет назад

      manolo19991 I owned a 1969 Camaro from the mid 80's till the late 90's & I respectfully say that neither last years model or this years model look anything like the ones from the late 60's.. The only commonality is dual instead of quad tail lights & to me these take away from the cars aggressive design & make it look more like a sedan from the rear & less like a muscle car.. Thanks for the reply & take care

      I agree the rear tail lights look pretty cheap and plain.... surprised they designed them that way. Probably did so to get more sales of the new vette. The Camaro has always been the "affordable vette" so Chevy makes it a little worse on purpose imo.

      I like the new 2015 Mustang look, so don't think i'm hating on it. But man, the Mustang has lost every bit of muscle car look it had. It looks foreign as hell. This new Camaro is hanging in there but it is border lining the muscle car look. The charger still looks good but really the only car that has remained true to it's muscle look is the Challenger.
