Many finds can be used to create amazing art that puts your glass, pottery and other finds on show! Today, Nicole looks at a few ways that you can use sharp edged finds by making them into wee works of art! We have used these shadow frames in a number of our projects. When we have, we most often use seaglass and pottery to make abstract designs. This time, we look at the shape of each piece to see what it suggests... A wee bird, a flower, a item hanging on a clothes line... the limit is your imagination!
Nicole gets your imagination going with three possible designs to get started crafting with craft grade finds!
Then, its time to sit back and take in the sights and sounds of Scotland's nature with a wee moment's peace. Loved the crafts Nicole. Everything you make looks so simple yet beautiful. The birdies were too cute. I really like seeing Nessie on your desk. 🌼
Thank you Craig for the peaceful moment! Needed it!
Stay safe Friends. 🦋
Thanks so much Sissi! When I studied architecture the 'mantra' was - less is more :) And it truly is. Wee Nessie is watching over us when we have dinner and when I craft at the table. Always lovely to hear you are enjoying the Moment's peace . Take care xo
Using pen and ink with dimensional pottery is a clever idea, and your little birds are just delightful. :-)
Thanks so much! So glad you liked the wee birdies :) x
Love the little birdies on the washing line they're so cute
Thanks so much Linda! Glad you like the wee birdies :)
Very nice. The bitds always got their do-do on some of the wash. When I was small it was my job to run under the wash and try to keep the birds away. I was given a small hand full of salt and told, "If you can salt a birds tail you can catch it." I would loose the salt over time. Then I would go back crying; because, "Those mean birds would not stay put." I know it sounds mean; but, it kept me busy until I got older.
Thanks so much Arvetta! Those are really lovely memories :) Thank you for sharing them with us. In Germany it's considered lucky if a bird drops do-do on you ;) x
Loved the clothes line idea.

Thanks so much Ruth! We like to show crafts that you could try at home and maybe inspire to just give things a go :) I think our shell box took the longest so far with over 6 hours ... Always lovely to hear you enjoy the moment's peace . Take care x

Thanks so much Eva! Very kind of you to say :)
Beautiful crafts, but how do you keep your crafting space so neat??? Goodness, wish I could do that! Love your jewellery making and crafts! Greetings from a sunny South Africa 🇿🇦!!
Thanks so much Karin! The space we film in isn't my studio, it's our dining table ;) So everything is set up for filming only and then broken down again... if we had more space we would have a little filming studio set up! Hello to South Africa :) x
So beautiful 🤩
Thank you so much Kristina! :)
Beautiful Nicole 😍 amazing what you can create with a little imagination xx Alex

Thanks so much Susan! Give it a go, put the pieces in place and play around with them :) So glad to have inspired you to try , that's really lovely to hear. x
Thank Nicole, I enjoyed this video, and I feel confident enough to do all three. Need to find shadow frames. No mudlarking finds however I've asked at my local charity shop for an accidental dropped bits. Win, win. They get a gold coin, doesn't go to waste & I get to play with glue. ❤
I use ikea Ribba frames
@@lindakirk698 thank you. We have one shop on the other side of Adelaide.
@@iriswaterford8881 I found a load in their clearance section and bought a boxful at a good price. - but not in Australia!
@@lindakirk698 looked online & they are $39 each. They had different brands & sizes at $15 & $8. It is so nice of you to reach out, thank you & God bless.
@@iriswaterford8881 oo I only paid £3.85 each for them
cute Nicole, Ive made a washing line card and birds on a branch, so many nice ideas around. good to use the supplies up lol.
Cool! they are awesome wee designs and, as you say, what a great way to use pieces that can't be used in jewellery! :D Thank you so much, best wishes, Nicole & Craig xo

You are amazing!!!! I love the crafts. The wash line is adorable. Thank you Nicole. I might have a go of some of these crafts. I’ve collected sea glass for years. I have broken pottery pieces from the Delaware River here in the states. As always Xxx
Thanks so much Denise! Give it a go , put the pieces out and play around with them :) Really lovely to hear we inspired you! x
I like your ideas.👍 I am thinking, if it is possible to craft a glass picture with pieces of glass for a window?🤔 Like a mosaic? But the question is, how to connect the bits?
Thanks so much Silke! We are looking into that - you could do something like stained glass, it would be very time consuming though...
Lovely idea. Unfortunatly I wss too slow to order the picture. Its gone.
Hi Beate, it's still available :) I have put it in the featured items - here is the direct link! www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1179786707/scottish-beach-finds-birds-on-washing?click_key=773b20e1753d358e94b93c5ff7046124aae56453%3A1179786707&click_sum=d07f176b&ref=shop_home_feat_1
