Hey Buddies
I've created this Patreon page to help with the production of my guitar tutorial videos. I'm not planning to change what I already do and I will continue to respond to requests regardless of someone being a contributor or not. I have therefore set the patron amount at the lowest level of just $1 for those who wish to show their appreciation and to help with the purchase of strings, picks, music paper, sharpie pens, hard drives and cups of tea.
Thank you
Jase

I was 16 when I first heard this song. Still makes me feel young.
Make sure this stays on RUclips!
I have been looking to find a tutorial that that I could keep up with and understand
And with melody lines like yours. Every note can be felt and every chord carries the melody line perfectly.
This guy is a truly gifted player.
Thank you for this video. The tune brings me back to when my parents were alive, my father loved this piece. I have played with it for years, but never as good an arrangement as yours. More meaningful to me than I could put into words. Dad would have loved it, I will play it in his memory for the rest of my life. Quite a moving gift you have given me.
Thank you. I really appreciate your kind words.
@@thejaseguitar It's a very special piece, you nailed it. Thanks again. ;)
Thank you for creating this wonderful lesson! Without this video, i wouldn't have dared to learn such a great piece of music.
it took some time to learn, but i really made it. Thanks again! =)
Ik raak er altijd ontroerd door. Roept fijne herinneringen op uit de kindertijd, omdat onze
vader ook zo mooi deze melodieën bespeelde💖🌹💖
r
man have i been searching for the playing lesson on this one.... thanks for posting... you're worth your weight in gold....
Nicely played! Considering how I was named after this song, I've got to learn it now!
Cool!
Oooohhhh man I can't thank you enough for this supremely valuable resource. I've been following along with this video practicing on and off for a month or so now, and I'm happy to say I can finally play this song, even if it's still a little rough I can play it from memory and I must say this song was an excellent guitar lesson. I've learned more about the guitar trying to play this song then any other, it teaches you to view the guitar like a piano where you can just get creative and go up and down finding scales anywhere on the neck and just explore new patterns. Los Indios Tabajaras were easily some of the greatest classical guitar players to ever live and I'm deeply grateful you took the time to create this tutorial.
Thank you for you kind message. Jase :)
Thanks for the easy to follow explanation of those "quick lick" notes. I've always loved this song.
My dad's favorite song.Always brings a tear
Your dad had great taste.
Really well done! Beautiful piece of music and well presented as a tutorial. Thank you.
Thanks Jason! Your response and effort to my request is greatly appreciated in no way taken for granted. I really didn't expect a reply or a response. I now have a challenge to play the classic song along with you and hope to get it right?
Your an incredibly talented teacher!
Thanks for sharing your time and talent with
Wish me luck!👍Greetings from South Africa
Good luck Allan :)
Thanks for transcribing in the Key of C. All of my song books have it in C and it helps to reinforce what I already know.
Thank you sir. The lost indoors style is a unique way of playing this memorable song. You have transcribed it to near perfection. I played along with this song when I was 15years old and there were some parts I could never really get properly. Of course I have aged since then and now you have given me the opportunity to fill in the missing pieces. A thousand blessings to you for this wonderful piece of music.
Los indios I meant in previous post. Thank you sir.
@@lauriepadmore4446 Thank you! It's lovely getting comments like this and I also love how autocorrect has invented a completely new style of playing guitar!
It would sure help those of us that are just starting out if the fingers that are pressing the strings were somehow numbered to see which strings are being played, when all the fingers are on the neck,it's hard to tell which strings should be depressed.

Such a learnable lesson !
Thanks
A REAL INSTRUCTOR!!
DONT YOU HAVE A GUITAR COLLECTION OR A CAP FORSALE?
Les Paul would be proud; excellent guitar work........................
Thank you for you expert help. I have always wanted to play this song. You have given us a jewel.
You're welcome :)
once again jason i thought that was absolutely great they were linked to chet atkins los indios tabajaras and what a find,i have heard them play chopins waltlz in c# and that is a tune to behold, you play this maria elena absolutely great jason, but at the begining was bert weedon and how he influenced so many guitatists myself included and what a tone he achieved,i think he played a double cutaway yamaha, but he is greatly underestimated jason.if i buy you 3 coffees could you include in your lessons theme from limelight which has to be berts tour de force, just hear that tone he achieves its unbelieveable,i would be extrenely greatful jason if you could include this because i think guitarists the whole world over owe so much to this man, sadly today largely forgotten but not me,i think he is the tops, thanks jason roger
Here you go ruclips.net/video/HYDoE2bUHm4/видео.html
Viva I LOS INDIOS TABAJAROS. CIAOOOOOO! !!
Thank's for this video and congratulations for your work. Nice to play this tune in key of C (and not B). I play this melody since 40 years with my DelVecchio resophonic guitar. Wishes from France.
I'm wondering if Nato and his brother tuned their guitars down a half step in order to make Nato's vibrato more pronounced. Saw him him and his wife in 2ooo at the Chet Atkins Convention in Nashville. He was up in years but could still play the fire out of his guitar.....one of my favorite guitarists of all time.
Lo felicito. Muy didáctico, me sirvió mucho 🤗🤗
Piękna ponadczasowa melodia .Pozdrawiam przybyszów z Polski 💖
jak to milo widziec pania , ja poniekad tez jestem przybyszem w Polsce. juz potrafie to grac , przepiekne uczucie, porownywalne z najpiekniejszymi.....

Hi Jason, happy to be a patron, wonderful interpretation, thanks, best regards Pete
Great guitar instructions. Thanks !
Heard this piece in narcos and fell in love with the first melody line.
Is there anyway to make my acoustic sound like classical for this one?
One of the best tutorials for this song that I've found so far. But I'd really like to know what you're doing with the right hand. Are you finger picking or using a pick?
Una preciosidad de interpretación.
beautiful piece, and fantastic tutorial that makes the piece accessible even to people who are not super guitar experts like me 🙂 question: does anyone know the sequence and the chords that are used for the accompaniment ??? thanks !! 😜
Hi Roby. If you look in the description I’ve put a link to a chord PDF. :)
Hermosa interpretación y con mucho cariño me la dedico mi amor Mike

What a beautiful and rendition. You are a gifted guitarist. I could not find the backing track you mentioned to be able to play along with. Is it available? Do you do any of The Ventures songs?
Thank you for sharing.song
Here’s the backing track - 'Maria Elena' Practice Backing Track ruclips.net/video/gLBPuoFalKY/видео.html - I think I’ve done some ventures.
Claudio, puedes oír estas bellas músicas? Cuánto tiempo las escuchamos juntos.... romantismo, cariño y amor?
Sensacional!
Some constructive criticism for you when doing lessons would be to keep the chords out of the conversation whilst explaining fret placements like when you say “C on ten” just say “10 on the B string” makes life a lot easier for beginners train of thought. You’re a great player and everything other than that was amazing.
The thing is some people say they prefer having the notes, some prefer the string and frets. I give both in an effort to try and keep everyone happy (also it's good to learn the notes), but someone will always complain about something!
How do you know what a beginners train of thought is- I don’t think he made this lesson specifically to please just you
I am the viewer so actually he did😂 because I was trying to learn it. And have been watching this video for months trying to ignore what he’s saying and just watching how he’s playing it.
Jason what sound effects are you using on your guitar ?
Hola ciberamigos : wonderful i like , you have fingers gold , congratulations ,
I ask marirachee bands to play it sometimes.
I whistle the tune to them/because I didn't know the name. only the groupe.
Los Dingos something?
Such a tasty little tune. Everyone likes it.
Bonjour, très belle version. Serait il possible d'avoir la tablature avec la rythmique en PDF s'il vous plaît. Je vous en remercie.
Genius!
Fantástico 😃👏

Lo spartito dove lo trovo?
Could you please do a tutorial on the song “La Incondicional” by Luis Miguel??
Puedes hacer el acompañamiento?
Beautiful, well played BUT, this needs the warmth sound of nylon strings, otherwise, very well played.
Who made the Backing Track....Key C....
perfecto
k linda música
Bonita canción
Чудесно
Please show chords and tabs
How can we get the tab for this beautiful song?
I'm afraid I don't have any as I worked it out by ear, but if anyone wants to write it out I will put a link and credit in the description.
Why are you playing it a half step higher than the original?
So that you don't need to tune down your guitar to Eb to practice.
@@thejaseguitar Ok, just notice everyone else plays it in B
I cant find the guitar tabs or notes?? Do you have a link where I can buy/download the sheet music?
I have a link here for the chords that I wrote out, but I don't think any sheet music or tabs exist. www.thejase.co.uk/Pages/Resources/Maria%20Elena001.pdf

Lorenzo Barcelata was the composer of that song, NOT the Indios Tabajaras.
Good to know, however it's their version I'm teaching.
Lorenzo Barcelata era originario de Veracruz, México.
