    I love the granny square; it's what made me recently start to crochet. I usually Loom Knit; because I thought I wouldn't get the hang of crocheting... and was looking for a easy; quick pattern for a scarf for a co worker. I loveee how easy this is to do; Doesn't hurt how PRETTY it is. I loved it just by row two! :D Thanks so much!!!

    Hello Heather, Thank you for your reply. I dont know why but i just cant get the hang of that scarf. I get so far, then i look and it doesnt look right. I really want to do this and i am going to keep working at it.

    • @prestonwilliams9531
      @prestonwilliams9531 6 лет назад

      have you gotten it yet susan? don't worry! you will get it sooner or later, just slow down and fallow her tutorial video from start to finish. pause it frequently. what in the scarf dosnt look right? is it the sides? don't feel bad, sometimes certain patterns or stitches are simple for some, but hard for others, what I do is I keep trying I do a project over and over if I have to until I get the pattern and stitch down right. I wish I could see a picture of your scarf to help you out, let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

    Hi Heather, when you insert your hook into the top of the turning chain at the end of each row, do you crochet through the back loop only or through both loops? I couldn't tell in the video. Thanks!

    • @Heathers_Crochet_Designs
      @Heathers_Crochet_Designs  7 лет назад +1

      Hi, crochet through it. It's won't be like a normal stitch. You don't want to go under it. Let me know if you need anything else. Heather

    How many yards of size 5 yarn do you think it will take to make a decent length scarf? By the way, your instructions are easy to follow and this is a quick and easy scarf to make. Thank you.

    • @Heathers_Crochet_Designs
      @Heathers_Crochet_Designs  6 лет назад

      hi, I've never used that size of yarn so you would probably have to do a swatch to see how many chains you need per row. Then you can determine the total amount.

  • @atgoodric
    @atgoodric 7 лет назад +12

    You said the chain was in multiples of 3 but that you had 26 on the first chain.... 26 isn't a multiple of 3...or am I missing something? I wanted my scarf narrower.

    • @Heathers_Crochet_Designs
      @Heathers_Crochet_Designs  7 лет назад +2

      HI, It's not multiples of 3...if you need to you can add or subtract the amount of chains in multiples of 3. That's if you wanted to make something larger like a blanket for exampe. You can add 3, 6,,12,15 chains etc...

    • @carlynekeck5296
      @carlynekeck5296 7 лет назад +1

      She did say multiples of 3. You are right, 26 is not divisible by 3. But somehow the pattern works.

    • @crystalromo8778
      @crystalromo8778 7 лет назад +2

      Carlyne Keck she said only to make bigger or smaller do it by adding 3 or subtract 3

    • @carlynekeck5296

      I did my hats in multiples of 4 and they turned out great! Whatever works, do it!

    hi. I was wondering how much yarn would it take to make a 60 inch scarf. I worry about not having enough yarn for the project.

    • @Heathers_Crochet_Designs
      @Heathers_Crochet_Designs  7 лет назад

      IT Depends on what type of yarn you are using. If you use thin yarn like Red Heart then you would need 2 skeins. You might not use the entire second one. I've never made a chunky-yarn-size yarn so I can't say much about that. Hope it helps! Heather

    how do we end the scarf?
    And I think you have made tassels in the ends....

    • @Heathers_Crochet_Designs
      @Heathers_Crochet_Designs  7 лет назад

      You end it by just repeating the required row(s). I don't do tassels on my scarves but there are many videos on here in case you want to learn how to do them. They are vert easy, Thanks for the comment.

    hi Ms heather gibbs my name is Janet and I just watch the tutorial of crochet granny square inspired scarf. how do I change colors

    • @Heathers_Crochet_Designs
      @Heathers_Crochet_Designs  8 лет назад

      +Janet Wielechowski HI, you can:
      Begin with old color: Yarn over hook, Insert hook in the next stitch to be worked. Yarn over hook. Pull yarn through stitch. Yarn over hook. Pull yarn through 2 loops on hook.Drop old color at this point. Continue with new color: With new color: Yarn over hook. Pull new color yarn through last 2 loops on hook. Then continue on as usual. Hope it helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Your tutorial was fantastic! I am left handed so it took me a few tries to figure it out, all that I kept hearing in my mind was “pull through two loops, pull through two loops”. I am so excited to continue my project, I ended up using this to make my blanket, which so far looks beautiful. I could simple crochet before and now thanks to you, I can add a little design element to it!

    I really loved this work... Amazing 😍😍😍👏👏👏👏 ....Could you please inform me the length and breadth of this scarf after final work and how much grams of yarn used to make this final scarf .

    • @Heathers_Crochet_Designs
      @Heathers_Crochet_Designs  6 лет назад

      Hi, Thanks so much for your kind words!! The size is 8 1/2 inches wide by 60 inches long. I don't know how to measure yarn in grams. It would take a few average sized skeins to make it. I used a very large skein of Caron 1 pound yarn. Let me know if there's anything else u need. crochetpatterns09.blogspot.com/2013/01/granny-square-inspired-scarf-crochet.html
