    I remember being super-interested when I first saw "that" one original video popping off in the algorithm since I love the idea and the aesthetic, then I saw the second video from the same channel and started to get a bad feeling about it (the same feeling I got after the Callisto Protocol 'first gameplay footage' video tbh), like it was just going to boil down to being another third-person co-op extraction shooter; It just seems strange to me that so much of the game was marketed as being this unique out-of-the-box game from a team of "talented-but-rogue" developers and the resulting game is gonna be "something you'd never see a 'big publisher' commit to" and yet, from what I've seen, it's being shoehorned into one of the largest gaming metas of the last few years anyway
    Maybe it's just 'not for me' but if that's the case then I can only hope it becomes a better game for.. well.. whomever it's designed for. In the meantime I'll just wait for the release version and see if it can pull me back in. Otherwise it feels like the equivalent of a film that looks great and has some compelling ideas but was never able to come together as a whole

      I would highly disagree about the AI war Impacting your gameplay. Because it's you avoid the fight or get in a fight depending how much of a threat they are to you. I am binge watching everyone that posts any FW gameplay and depending how the AI moves the players always change their behavior.

    • @TwistyShape
      @TwistyShape  Месяц назад +1

      @@alisahutako4518 Not quite sure what you mean. Generally, on the first map, a spawn of droids appears immediately right of the graveyard 4/5 times. Which generally means the same scenario plays out, or so I've noticed.

      @@TwistyShape That part of the map has a high chance of being the battlegrounds for more heavily armed units or Larger depending on who controls the sectors. For example; Europa has completely occupied the bunkers in the last run and did so again in the next run. The opposing force trying to take that sector will deploy more and more lethal units like Tanks, Super Hind, or Exo mechs. Thus changing how much time you can spend in that area or even outright preventing you from entering that space because the fighting is too hot.
      Here the AI simply fighting each other has changed how the player behaves.
      Also, i don't know if you've already realized this but the units also changes their behavior depending on their 'Orders' or 'Directives'. Have you noticed that sometimes the AI squad will immediately open fire on you? Well it's because they have 'Orders' to clear out that bunker. Sometimes they will also stop pursuing you after a certain point because they have 'Orders' to defend that point. Thus, making that area always have a certain danger on it, where once again making the player reconsider whether they want to risk it for some loot or die trying.

    I bought the game and played it for almost 3 hours. Love the concept and what the developers are going for. That being said, there is a ton of work to be done. Characters feel very cumbersome and terrible to move around. Gunplay needs some love and of course the water mechanic. People who have direct contact with the developers have stated that the current water mechanic is a placeholder and will have radical changes throughout early access.
    I've already refunded since I can't really play Forever Winter reliably as I'm still rocking a GTX 1080(game runs smoothly on low settings but those fire effects TANK my performance even though they are staggeringly beautiful). I am 100% down for this game but I think I will wait till it's more or less nearly complete.

      @@TwistyShape True. But I think in this case with the low entry fee this will do more good in the long run. Developers have already thrown out a patch fixing various bugs and made some small improvements.
      They've also been made aware of a game-breaking exploit where you can get under the map. This I'm not surprised by since I've gotten stuck in buildings and under them due to how jank the vaulting system. Also the complete lack of character momentum when you're not sprinting making small adjustments to get under the map possible.
      One thing I find endless hilarious though if when you're going max sprint speed you can bunny hop across the battlefield in record time making even a drugged out Mario on conanine jealous.

      Honestly, they can be in any stage as long as they pass RUclips verfication. Love the idea of the game, and won't refund cause I want to support them. But even the good moments you have you second guess (kinda like you were talking about with the recoil and blinding muzzle flash) because you cannot trust the game. If say, dark souls, you find something unique; there is a tendency for people to at least think it's intended and try to find out why. For this game, while I like the devs and trust the game will shape up, I don't trust the game as is so the experiences can fall flat. The performance isn't terrible if you just knock everything to low except view distance (I have this on ultra), but poor optimization is to be expected this early on. That being said, it is EXCEPTIONALLY bad. Tanking your settings to 0 shouldn't ever result in 45fps _at_ _the_ _high_ _end_ .

      If you called it 'dev labs' or something you wouldn't sell the sizzle to people waiting for a title to be released I grant you that much. But that's why it's not named something else too.
